I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
Who is stealing all your money is the central bank in collusion w the federal gov't. U.S.govt can print its own money, but does not. It borrows money from the central bank, and pays them interest on it. The more the govt borrows, the more inflation and higher prices. In 2008, they stole 30% of every dollar and dollar value in the United States, a $4 Trillion heist. Stolen life's savings from every man woman and child and small business in America. We don't need the central bank! Pres Andrew Jackson got rid of it and the U.S. prospered.
Several of my UA-camrs have commented about the price of goats and sheep. One of them lives in Canada and their prices are just as high if not higher. My Uk UA-camr hasn't mentioned it , yet ! Glad that were able to take advantage of the high prices. I'm not looking forward to the meat prices in the coming months. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Yeah I bet the price at the grocery store us already going up. I have 4 more goats that will be ready in 1-1/2 months hopefully I do as well on them. Thanks for watching Margie.
@@FowlerFamilyFarm You left out a BUNCH of costs!?? Gasoline for the 3hrs driving. Auction commission. My calculator says the Auction took $70 plus $20 tags. My chev truck costs $35 to drive 3 hrs without towing, more like $50 if I drive 70mph, which most ppl do. Say $45 fuel and $90 Auction costs, that's $750 or so, or 84% of sale price. Just sayin'
All aspects of agriculture are money spinning if one does the right thing. Agriculture and farming will continue to be a bog deal as long as food continues to be a big deal. Food is essential for good health and wellness. This is how farming will continue to thrive.
Thats good money for goats. We are going to get into raising them but I’m not sure if they will sell at that price here in Canada. Over all, you did great on that sale. Way to go!! Talk to you later. Have a great day.
Thanks for the helpful breakdown! I know prices have fluctuated since you originally posted this, but they're still in a relative ballpark, for my area.
Great video! It's been nice to see the price for goat meat this high. I think it will continue to climb due to the lack of producers that can supply the demand.
I want to say figure about an average of 15 to 20 a lb hanging weight + butcher fees. I actually was thinkiing if goats could bring about that price consistently i could just not sale barn the males i get and roll out meat packs. (when i get the farm right which means about 100 goats giving about 200 meat goats and 100 or so dairy doe girls giving tons of milk. Lets say a goat weighs about 120 lbs so 50 or so hanging weight so maybe 700 to 1k a goat for meat if that calculation is right. My only fear is the lack of customer/clients wanting goat meat over cow/pig. Also i undercut total avg weight a goat might be and undercut hanging weight at 50% when i hear about 55-60% also.

How much meat can be sold in a store from a 40 pound goat? Cattlemen are thinning their herds due to the drought and high grain prices so beef will be a lot more expensive next year so maybe profits for goats will go up if you don't have to buy feed!!
Yeah I think your right on all of that. I sold my goats this year early or at a smaller size just to take advantage of the good price. Next year might be even better.
Hi from Philippines we have small herds here and every animal is worth money except the old rams. We cant eat them or sell the meat because of the smell. Would it work if we desexed the ram and kept him for a while till he stopped chasing does and washing him regularly?

I prefer Selling to individual at my place .. I sell them . $ 200 dollars all Day long and don’t have to drive 45 minutes.. but we all see things different way …

I have video about 8 months or so ago about my experience at the Purcell Barn Auction. Not a good experience. I will sell to individuals or processors for now on
So, it sounds like it isn't cost effective to buy five or ten very young kids, feed them for a few months and then take them to the meat market. It sounds like I would lose money that way. Did I hear all that right? Buying a young kid from a goat farm would probably cost me more than what I would get later at the meat market.
Thats a good question. These goats were born on my farm so I didnt buy them but I did but about $75 in hay and $150 in grain to geed out the mommas. But I haha another sale several months later where I sold 4 more boys. No additional cost. I also had 3 females to add to next years breeding season.
