Great review John - loved the video footage of you walking with it & the panning around the lake - always love seeing more video shots alongside the photos :) - feel free to add more video shots in amongst the photos - Glidecam / Gimbal on this lens would be pretty interesting ! :)
Love that lens.. it’s amazing how every single resident of Hawaii isn’t walking around with that everywhere they go lol.. gotta wonder if we will ever see a 8mm non distorted ultra wide lens in our lifetimes though.. because the widest is now 9mm
You are welcome and sorry for the late reply! I think it would be too unnaturally wide for real estate photography. Maybe lean somewhere at the 14mm mark.

oh maaan i can not decide. This lens, or the voigtländer 10mm for 100€ less or the 12 24 for 200€ more ... what would be your choice ?
Hi John. Would you mind sharing which lens adapter you're using? I also use Sony A7 cameras and am looking into buying a Samyang XP 14mm f/2.4 lens, so am trying to figure out which EF-E mount adapter will be compatible with the electronic aperture control. Cheers.
Really liked your photos that you added into the review, thanks John
Thank you for the feedback! 🙂✌️

Thanks for the feedback! I will do that going forward 😀
Awesome review John! Photo walk next week when I’m in town!
We didn't do the photo walk lol

Really great example shots
Thanks Mark! I really tried to put in more effort with sample photos.
I bet this on a glidecam for a nature style video would be gold!
I can just imagine! It would be amazing!
I wish they'd release the XP lenses for FE mount.. I'd grab a 14mm f2.4 asap.
Ooo I'm keen to try that out too! They did just come out with a mk 2 of the 14mm in the FE mount
You have to check out the Laowa Ultrawides.
Great stuff John, thanks for the video - wish it was for Sony. Would, in your opinion it be good for interior real estate photography?

I am using the Sigma MC-11 adapter. I linked it in the description below.
Geez nobody got a NIKON mount version??
Nikon version is hard to get.
I've got one. Oddly it is sharpest on my D750. On my Z5, it shows some corner deterioration, just like on the Sony.
