Here is an absolutely killer live version of this, with some great interplay between Nuno and Pat. It also starts with Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee, which is pretty impressive. Fair warning, live, they usually sinf "No MF gonna spoil my fun" instead of rotton apple. This is a band that has to be seen live. ua-cam.com/video/c1AxoPTAgxA/v-deo.html
Awesome I’ve been going through their catalog since seeing that song rise which is awesome an it’s gotten in me into writing reviews on their albums. Starting with Tracks I found awesome from a musicians point of point of view From the first album Extreme; An 80’s hair metal album I think, I don’t know the 80’s Mutha (don’t wanna go to school today) - If you wanna hear Nuno outplaying Eddie Van Halen listen to the intro Play with me” Is this Mozart or the new Eddie Van Halen
From Extreme II Pornograffiti; A truly Extreme record that shows their funk rock side and really highlights the how tight the Drums and bass are and together just kill it Songs I found awesome are It’s a Monster - Expansive guitar voicing’s and sweeps Pornograffiti - A song that’s progressively changes styles while maintaining its funk core and resembles Slash’s from GnR another band I know nothing about apart from That song (and Cheryl Crows cover of) “Sweet Child o mine”
Here part of a retro review I’m writing as a musical journalist for their 3rd album. it’ll give you something good to read when you have a spare few years of boredom. And it highlights the tracks I’ve just started listening to on repeat. Extreme III sides to every story A concept album that has 3 sides “Yours” “Mine” and “The truth” Showcases creative expansive progressive and orchestrated movements very experimental and from a composers point of view - delightfully interesting. “Yours” Hard rock and funk side. This is the side for you if you want that Extreme sound . So far I’ve loved listening to Politicalamity - You may think this is a RHCP song (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) but it’s not Cupid’s dead - More of the same (RHCP) almost a rap funk tune stylistically, hiding in the background is some intelligent Nuno playing. punctuated by pounding hip hop drumming that makes you think the Beastie Boys are in town. Peacemaker die - A powerful statement song from the album. “Mine” A complete change stylistically more of a Freddie Mercury type of side operatic ballads. As long as you don’t mind a complete change because even ears need a day to relax by the pool then you’ll like this side . I like the songs Our Father - Good lyrically messaging with some slick guitar slides and use of delays Stop the world - I just picture Freddie singing this. Great harmonies does sound like an experimental queen song perhaps not as much as “God isn’t dead” now that is a Freddie song. For me the surprise was the side; “The Truth” This was a conceptual classical composition of songs that could not be any further from Extreme that you could ever imagine Deeply rooted in progressive rock to me this was a musical movie score that I just loved. I just pretend I’m not listening Extreme but something more majestical that Freddie would be proud of. Rise N Shine - music box folk into with sweeping violins and check out Nuno singing Am I ever gonna change - A Marillion sounding song with delay effects and some powerful vocals classic Extreme harmonies accompanied by a 70 piece orchestra. Maybe Extreme were the first that led to many bands like Metallica to realise “with the Orchestra” albums. Who cares - This is more of full classical orchestra show tune with Gary Cherone trying out his Freddie’ While Nuno try’s out his writing skills for theatre and even adds a vocoder into the mix and the songs over 8 mins long If I want to listen to Extreme I’ll listen to the side “Yours” if I want to listen some easy listen grow ups music I’ll listen to the side “Mine” and If I don’t want to listen to Extreme but want a little orchestral “Queen” I’ll listen to the side “The truth”
Extreme was underrated back in the day...so I'm glad their new record is getting as much good attention now, as it is! And Gary Cherone is still the same great performer/front man! I do believe he did some work on Broadway productions
I never understood why Nuno isn’t a lot more famous than he is. I mean guys like Van Halen have nothing but praise for them but your average every day fan just I don’t think ever really realized how good he is.
Also, you probably know this, but the young guy might be interested in knowing that Gerry was actually a member of Van Halen for about 10 minutes. Lol.
I think I like the solo in this one even better than rise. Maybe not quite as technical but I just think something about it sounds better. If you’re looking for another one, I nominate play with me.
Yes- better shielded cables, perhaps? But don't fall for the overpriced Monster cables. Maybe just some new mid-range ones with good reviews on Amazon/Newegg. Perhaps a separation of them could help, too. Not expecting top tier audio from your sweet video's, just less of that distraction!
This was one of my favorite bands back in the day. Thanks for the throw back nostalgia!
There's gonna be more to come. I can't wait to show the lad some Mr Big 😁
Fabulous. The next Extreme" songs to show him are either "He Man Woman hater" or "It's a Monster" or "Play with Me".
We have Play With Me coming soon, but with an extra twist so it's taking a little longer to film and edit haha.. I'm going to attempt the solo!
I saw that live. It was incredible!!!!!
Extreme were amazing live back in the day nice reaction
Thank you! More to come! 🙂
So much fun. Had me smiling the whole time 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's such an awesome song isn't it. And that guitar solo! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@XplozoneReacts Nuno is amazing 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Amazing! Thank you so much! I'm sure I can convince the lad it's mother funker 🤣
Good luck
I'd say for an interesting contrast, play Rise or something else from their new album, Six.

Yeah they have really come back strong as ever. For me they'll always be one of the best ☺️🙏🏼

There's something cool coming with "Play With Me" very soon. The lad is on holiday at the moment but when he's back we'll get right on the case! 🙂🙏🏼
Gosh I love your videos- but there is SO much low end hum on all of them. Dad- can you look into this? Liking all your videos, btw.
It's something to do with the mic and camera being close together. Cheap leads I believe. Saving for better equipment 😊

Decadence Dance!!
Great idea!
