Love the launch line up videos. They really encapsulate the memories of owning that particular console at the time and if I wasn't there on launch its fun to see regardless.
Oh my lanta, that would've been something else entirely. Imagine what fortunes they could've had, if they kept investing into the best handheld we own & did what Nintendo did for 3DS. GT vita, my goodness man, only in my dreams. Owning both a Switch lite & PS Vita has shown me that at least for a couple years it could've easily co existed with Switch. They are much closer in performance than the Wii was to PS360 & that received ports of several big AAA games up to 2011. I still use my Vita way more than my Switch. Tend to play the fan made ports of GTA classics over the "remastered" Switch ports. It's very sad that the community has brought more games/support & consistent releases now than Sony did after the first year.
I actually enjoyed most of the Vita feature mechanics in Golden Abyss. The only one that I found redundant was that plattforming could be done with controller or with the touchscreen. It wasn't something gamebreaking and was rather the only part where I thought "that's nice but I don't really need it". Everything else was between good and fantastic.
My first two games for the Vita were ModNation Racers and Rayman Origins. I enjoyed my Vita for a while, there were just a number of things holding it back from greatness. Such as the major lack of marketing, the prices of things like the memory cards and the lack of support from a lot of developers. Makes me sad that it failed, cause it was a great little system.

You are a million percent right about the rolling part of Little Deviants. They're amazingly hard on the handheld as well. However, not all 30 challenges are that and the game actually becomes a lot of fun when the other challenges come up. It is too bad those first few rolling sections need to be completed to get the much better parts.
A walkable garage wanted that since PGR2!. Surprised by some I hadn't heard of I might check them out. Great intro and Greg the one that believed in the Vita of course. Also PSVR yes. The GDC Danganronpa ralk always sticks woth me he said stuff about the Vita and had ro say I am not endorsed by Sony but he just loved the Vita to develop for clearly. Yeah Little Deivants first minigame is not a great one the later AR, gyro, mic and more ones for shooting, falling, jumping, whack a mole and more vary in quality. The other games surprised me I didn't even know A Man was a launch title in Europe. Lumines is good I care for other puzzle games and the music can be good but yeah can't say for the entries besides the first one. Yeah MotorStorm RC is interesting as the PSP one was a MotorStorm game on PSP/PS2 while RC was different, fine different but yeah I suck at top down/isometric racers too. Maybe it's good but yeah I'll get Artic Edge on PSP/Vita store instead. Enjoying the PS3 entries though. PVZ on Vita wow it was on other versions though.... Huh didn't know it's as a EU launch title. Wow price point ah. Ah Putty Squad sigh. Rayman Origins is great surprisingly on Vita. Ah Reality Fighters. Ah compared to Photo Dojo on DSi. Some footage is something at least. Ridge Racer Vita ah, yeah the disappointing one on content. I assume fine controls but content handling because Namco had to do that sigh. What a waste. The PSP ones are better instead. Golden Abyss does a good job in gyro shooting, fine charcoal, photo taking, awkward vaults and melee XD very explorer stuff that's really cool, among some usual things the series does. Wipeout 2048 isn't as good as past times I find but still enjoyable and the last entry before the Omega Collection. Virtua Tennis on PSP I enjoyed years ago not bothered with the series but I doymind arcade sports games if good and the minigames always seemed like silly fun in a good way. The launch titles I think like Dreamcast were very strong besiyalso being a early exit for first party development and third party Japanese devs supported it. Honestly sure not as many western games but Indies/Japanese titles and what was there of Sony first parties while western third parties like the Wii U went oh mobile oh install base size isn't big enough. With what they did do of games, PS TV, remote play, backwards compatibility they offered enough at least but 2016+ yeah management changed and we were left with what they could do I guess even though Viat would be cheaper and they killed their Vita developers off prior to 2016 but they have the Vib Ribbon quote. A lot of some things make sense others don't sure the cost but to down scale a few games or build Vita capable engines really that expensive? Nintendo sure always succeeds with handhelds but they supported the Wii U they didn't give up. At least we got Japanese Asian English releases that's something. At least Indies and the Japanese cared and dedicated PlayStation fans own a Vita their the true audience not the Persona 4 and leave, not the oh a few eastern titles the real users of the Vita know it's exclusives, it launch, did the messaging better than Sony for it. Even though PSVR and Sony phones are niche and the Vita wasn't supported but niche....... Gaming is tough but I guess their Indie side kind of worked then didn't as Management changed and we sort of didn't have that as much at least for Vita than PS4 anyway.
If vita just had the right support. It was great to have as a second screen for ps4. This wasn't sold enough! Some games like fallout even remapped the buttons to work better.
Fantastic video! I love my Vita and it was a missed opportunity but i honestly cant think of another console with a higher quality over quantity ratio! Minimal shovelware and id argue still the best way to play games like Persona 4, the Hyperdimension series and Tales of R.
Got my Vita (OLED) instead of a PS4 during PS4’s launch. Ended up getting my PS4 the following year, and I’m happy I waited. I use my Vita all the time, bought a LCD model on clearance for $99 (still new in box) and a PS Vita TV for $30 (still new in box). Play the Vita way more than my Switch, and love using it to game when I go away on vacation. Every vacation I go on, I platinum at least 1 game, making it more memorable for me. PS Vita 2? Let’s get that done!
So is this the end of the “playing every launch game” series? All that’s left were the NES, Master System, Sega CD, Game Gear, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PS5, doing all those and then a ranking video of every console’s launch lineup would’ve been awesome, it’s right there.
I pre-ordered the Vita alongside Wipoeut 2048. That game sufferred from early sunset because Studio Liverpool got shut down, the game was hardly complete. It's a great service that Wipeout Omega Collection on the PS4 contained all of the content from 2048. I still love the Vita and a multitude of classic games on it including my favorite game Legend of Dragoon for PS1.
Oh yeah here we go launch games time! I’ve never played a PlayStation Vita but I have seen UA-cam videos about PlayStation Vita before so I’m gonna give this everything I’ve got!
My most played consoles these days are still the VITA (and the Switch). Though that might change as I prepare to order a Switch. Though nothing still beats the VITA in doing pretty much everything and a ever lasting battery.
It seems metacritic hates vita games. Most of them get trash scores based on one single flaw, and a lot of indie games doesn't have scores like they wouldn't be aviable on the handheld. Anyway, great video guys!!!
The actual F1 2011 is a really fun game on pc, ps3, and 360. The ps vita and 3ds port, while looking similar are actually based on the F1 2009 engine, which was a game only released on the Wii and PSP. Which is a shame because it was the first Code masters F1 game ever (altough developed by Sumo Digital, who made the Wii and PSP [and I Think DS] port of Dirt 2, Codies own first proper F1 game was in 2010)
I legitimately think you could release the PS Vita nearly as-is today, for $100 less than the Switch and with better software support (and got God's sake just use micro SD cards!) it would be a viable competitor in the market. That is how far ahead of its time that little thing was. CRAZY good battery life too in the 2nd gen model. I charge mine like once every couple weeks and I play it pretty regularly.
Lil Deviants I must say on actual Vita hardware is much better, not amazing but got a lot of joy reliving the Xbox 360 Arcade game visuals. Shows off Vita weirdness well & ya. Slightly charming
I got my Vita on launch day. The accessories were available the day before. I got a $100 memory card (can't remember if it was 16GB or 32GB) and when that thing was full, I never bought another game.
Vita was never going to beat 3DS, because seriously, Nintendo had handhelds in a strangle-hold, but by golly it could have been a contender, AT LEAST, if Sony hadn't killed it so quickly. Such a tragedy.
Some great games here! Plus a healthy selection of duds of course. Lumines is great (sadly delisted), Rayman is obviously class, and I'm keen to check out Wipeout some time. I enjoyed Uncharted so much I played the whole game twice through. Second time was with the native resolution mod and overclock - seriously impressive graphics. Tilt controls for fine aiming the sniper rifle was great, the only 'novelty controls' that let it down was the touch/swipe boss battle at the end.
As one of the three Putty Squad fans, I regret to say the Vita version wasn't actually a launch title. System 3 were aiming for launch, but it kept getting delayed over and over... and over... It didn't release until 2014.

My most played consoles these days are still the VITA (and the Switch). Though that might change as I prepare to order a Switch. Though nothing still beats the VITA in doing pretty much everything and a ever lasting battery.
I loved Motor Storm RC, Uncharted Golden Abyss and FIFA 13
The list of official games released as homebrew continues to grow.
That is why you are not in charge of any videogame company.
@@pafoneto1275 That is why you're In a the comments section of a video down in your mothers basement 😼

But what did I claim?
I do love that Martin Tyler knows it's a computer game lol.
I'm surprised Ben didn't go for F1 2011. I guess it doesn't compare to driving the real thing every Sunday afternoon.
I’m glad Haas took him back!
Lil Deviants I must say on actual Vita hardware is much better, not amazing but got a lot of joy reliving the Xbox 360 Arcade game visuals. Shows off Vita weirdness well & ya. Slightly charming
Great work Ben, well done!
The Vita day one had mad games in all genres
Loved my Vita, was a crying shame how it was treated....
The intro was gold
I forgot how much I love Sports Time :)
I got my Vita on launch day. The accessories were available the day before. I got a $100 memory card (can't remember if it was 16GB or 32GB) and when that thing was full, I never bought another game.
If we ever see a new vita I want a days gone spinoff as launch title
Golden Abyss WAS awesome though
Thanks for talking about my favorite PS VITA.
does that cup say "Im one fart away from a shit?"
Everybody’s Golf was and still is, epic.
Vita was never going to beat 3DS, because seriously, Nintendo had handhelds in a strangle-hold, but by golly it could have been a contender, AT LEAST, if Sony hadn't killed it so quickly.
Such a tragedy.
Yeah I will forever remember the vita as the handheld which promised so much but was abandoned by Sony
Greg Miller from "This Is Awesome", on the WWE Network?? If only there was a word for this...
Greg Miller’s Persona 4 review back in the day was why I bought a Vita.
Dont worry Vita, I remember you; I played mine so much the analog sticls gave out and I had to get a new one.
As one of the three Putty Squad fans, I regret to say the Vita version wasn't actually a launch title. System 3 were aiming for launch, but it kept getting delayed over and over... and over...
It didn't release until 2014.
Jesus Christ Greg! Whaccha doin here in Triple Jump! 🙌🙌🙌
Love these!
some might say that dynasty warriors next is a bit of a liu bei fiasco, with all that kicking and pushing
Now this? This a treat
I still play my Vita, i think it's still fantastic in '23 and Sony should be ashamed, they had gold!
Yeah it could have been so much more yes Sony focused much more on the ps4 and forgot about the vita pretty much
DJ MAX Technika Tune doesn't get the love and recognition it deserves!
