Well you know what, my cracked dash doesn't look so bad after all 😁
LOL...nor mine, I have a 12 genesis sedan.
Oh man this is so funny cause on my 2012 genesis 4.6l the dash over to the right just like your have the same pattern crack around the airbag area
Yeah its a common issue unfortunately
They should recall. Mine is cracked bad on my 2012 as well. Hate it
Question what do you use to fix it and prevent it from happening again
I have a 2011 4.6 and the dash is cracked just like that from texas heat. And to recover I have to do th same thing. The bad thing is there isn't any assembly prints I can find. Where did you get your info and how many days did it take you. I have many years experience so it's not mechanically difficult but it looks time consuming.
I pulled it out in 2 days doing 2 4hr days then reinstalled it in one day, its actually pretty straight forward and Hyundai did a good job using the same screws and nuts for everything on it. I referred to the Hyundai shop manual when I got stuck but it doesn't go into detail

I noticed you have some cracks on your arm rest cover material. Hyundai quoted me about $960.00 to replace entire center console so i purchased the material cover for my 2014 Genesis sedan from Etsy for $40.00 and replaced myself in about 2 hours...FYI.

Can the vinyl top cover of the dash be removed without taking the whole dash off?
no unfortunately not
Do you have to take apart the entire dash to changeout that 4” speaker in the center dash?
You may be able to remove the mesh but the safest way would be removing the dash unfortunately
Perfect video. Preciate this. Question: you think a rookie like myself can do this without making the airbags go off? Or leave it for professional
Disconnect the battery before starting to avoid that, and yeah its just time consuming. Luckily most of the hardware through out the dash is all the same so all you need is a 10mm, screw driver, trim panel removal tool and patience but definitely doable
Question-I have to replace the passenger side airbag in a 2016 Genesis. Did it look to you like the dash had to come off for that? I can find nothing on line about getting out that dash bag and just hope I don't have to pull of that dash....thanks!
You may be able to just remove the glove box to see it but as for replacing it the dash will most likely need to come out
Is there a way to just access the cluster without taking off the entire dash?
yes, it just requires removing the panels around it to get to the screws
Can you install a digital cluster on this car ? From a newer genesis ?
most likely not
Can you change the evaporator or expansion valve without removing the dash?
I don't think so unfortunately
You can bypass it through the glove box

I reinstalled them, had to remove the dash to fix a leak
I hate to be that guy, but this want very informative. A bad angle and no guidance on any of it. I had to give it a thumbs down
It wasn't made to be a walk through. More so just a video showing the ordeal it is to remove it and what to look forward to if your considering pulling the dash. Also if your already gonna click a button you can just click "back" vs "dislike" but thanks for the comment.
