Both of which led me to this incredible author and scholar Matthew Halsted and his book "The End of the world as You Know It - What the Bible Really Says About the End Times and Why it is Good News."

I love Dr. Heiser. God led me to him after I prayed for a revelation. I cried more when I found out he had cancer than I have ever for anyone else. He was just so genuine and thoughtful but also forceful in his beliefs. He never expected anyone to take his word but only to take the Word of God.
I’m so glad to have found this channel. I will be sharing and listening until the Lord returns or calls me home. Thanks guys. ❤
Dr. Heiser talked about a dream he had before he died. He was in formation on a while horse coming back with the Lord. He saw himself at the second coming. How awesome!

Awesome interview. I have never believed in the rapture. It is about us being restored, earth included. I plan on purchasing Matthew's book.
Dr Michael Heiser and many notable Bible scholars agree on the Pre tribulation Rapture. Scripture says the restrainer is holding back the Antichrist. The church ⛪️ s the restrainer because it is the Bride of Christ. He is called the Groom. This is all Scripture not an opinion. He’s s will call the church believers, in Jesus up to Him. This takes the Restrainer out so now the Antichrist comes out of the shadows. The church, is not mentioned in Revelation after Chapter 9. The church will be in the mansions in the heaven Jesus promised to go build when he was ascended on the Mt of Olives. The 7 years Jesus and the church will be in the heaven celebrating the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Then the Jews back in earth will call Jesus to save them and Jesus with His Elect will come back to stop the armies surrounding Israel.
When you explained about bringing in the royalties by welcoming them and joining them into the city, I thought about when Jesus entered into Jerusalem on the donkey, and his people were with him singing hosanna in the highest, and waving palm branches.

Discovered your channel a short time ago and I really love it. Your mash up edits are great and these interviews are unique and well structured. I got lots of little things out of this talk but 2 big ones that hit me were Revelation being firstly a letter to churches and the mark of lamb discussion. I tell people once you see partial preterism as a historical reality you see it all over scripture and it ties soooo much together. Seeing Revelation as a letter is not new for me but through it I saw that John calls himself "your brother and fellow participant in the tribulation..." to these churches. How can the tribulation described in Revelation be in our future if the churches in the past and John were participating in it?
Second, the mark of the lamb aligning with Exekial 9 is huge because both passages reference Jerusalem. The judgement being poured out are on those not loyal to yahweh/the lamb and the one to receive the mark are those who deny the beast and the abominations. It further solidifies the reality that Revelation is about the historical fact that the 1st century Jewish people were judged for denying their King and those marked were those who repented and believed during that 40 year time.
Thank you for adding these two new powerful examples to my mental arsenal for a biblically sound way of reading such an important book. Through good education and the spirit, hopefully we can correct these many errors and help the church see sound doctrine.

Narcissistic is the only term I can think of when I think of all the rap on rapture.
What do you mean rap on Rapture? Narcissistic? So you believe God was narcissistic to say there is a Rapture of the church, the Christians who believes in our Savior who came to die for our sins so we can have eternal Life with Him? The Christians or followers of Christ will be rewarded for our faith in Him. The Rapture is proof to the world God keeps His Word to all who follows Him.
I clicked the rapture box but in the vein to meet Him when He returns if I’m still alive. The dead first, then those of us alive. Not to be taken to Heaven but up meet Him.

To be with Jesus. That’s when the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is during the 7 yr tribulation happening on the earth. The church is out of here and the tribulation unfolds with the unbelievers left behind and the Antichrist. Israel realizes who the Antichrist is and he goes about killing the Jews and anyone who saw the rapture happen and became a believer in God and Jesus. Then the Jews, the tribe of Judah, hide in the desert, likely the Petra mountains with all the rooms dug in it to hold over 6,000 people. when the chaos happens in the world because of the rebellion against God the AC who is indwelled by Satan, is trying be God. When the Jews call Jesus to come and save them, Jesus said He will return to fulfill the Covenant He made to Abraham. Revelation is the Revealing of God. Jesus comes to stand on the Mt of Olives in Jerusalem and with His breath wipes out all the enemies surrounding Israel. That’s going to kill nearly all that’s left on earth. They are the evil seed that’s following Satan. God said He would destroy Satan’s, the serpent, seed. Jesus will allow the humans who were saved to continue to live out their lifetime and any who has children for the millennia Reign. Jesus will Reign from Israel and a new temple will come down from heaven. This is for those who comes back with Jesus the Saints of the Rapture, who have immortal bodies will live. Pastor Allen Nolan a biblical scholar explains everything very clearly about the Bible plus his knowledge of Hermeneutics Greek and Hebrew, a personal library off over 9,000 books has an amazing knowledge of the Bible. There is so much depth of the Bible we will be learning when we are with Jesus again. Life never ends and we are to be sharing the Gospel as commanded by God. Pray no one goes to hell. It’s very real. Love one another and share the Word.

I am reading Scot McKnight's book on Revelation is now. It is also very good. His take is that Revelation is a letter for how dissident disciples should live in the face of whatever Babylon they are facing.

I guess I thought everyone understood that the Bible was written for the early Christians. So, taking in the culture of these days was naturally the next step to understanding the Word and the world the Bible came from. You never know what you can take for granted. Thank you. The return of Jesus, to me, is more important than my children, my wife, and anything else that I dearly love in this world. If he would have returned before I or my family were born into this fallen world, would we have somehow existed? I don't know, and it doesn't make me grateful that he didn't return prior to my family and I being born. (That just sounds like it's assuming that non-created humans had a sort of meaninglessness before they/we existed in the world.) But we did enter this created environment - for the express purpose of imaging and glorifying God, and this purpose is even more supreme than pro-creating.
Thanks for your thought on that. It’s something that scripture is not very clear about but I believe is important to realize that God gave us a command to fill this earth and I don’t think he’s going to keep us from doing that❤️🔔✅
@@ringthembells143 I would say that the edict to pro-create was a pre-Pentecost command. In these "End Times" (since this is the theme today) God's family's, the church's, commission - his pro-creation edict, if you will - is quite different: Taking dominion over the principalities, powers, and authorities in high places (Eph. 3:20-21) and, thus, making way for the rule and reign of Christ on earth. One other question for thought from Paul: In chapter 7 of 1 Corinthians, why does he minimize the importance of marriage (same as he minimizes the command of circumcision) in this age? e.g. The one who is married cares for the things of the world ... and he is divided.

Great information! I try to take Dr Heiser’s advice and “hold loosely” to any eschatological perspective. That said, sometimes I wonder why Revelation can’t be both a historical view/critique of the times in which it was written (a critique on empires, as was so well said in this interview) and also a typology of things to come (as before, it will be again).
Maybe this is a pattern/strategy of the enemy which we need to recognize and maybe John was both critiquing his present age and predicting a similar future age? Why does it have to be either/or? Maybe it’s both/and. Just sayin’….
I think when taken as a “critique of empires” it becomes and ageless document that will speak to all empires of every generation
@@ringthembells143 Absolutely, and that’s the point so well made by Matt in this interview. What I was asking was, what if John was speaking both of Rome/Nero AND also predicting a future end times scenario? IOW, perhaps Rome and Nero were a typology for an end times world situation (and Anti-Christ) that will culminate in the time of the Second Coming. We find typologies used throughout the Bible… maybe that technique is being used again in Revelation. People tend to get on one side or the other regarding just exactly who John was writing of… but maybe it’s both. Anyway, as I said above, I ”hold loosely” to any eschatological view… as Heiser says, all the views come at it with a set of assumptions that color how they interpret the text. And I’m not saying John definitely was speaking of both, but isn’t it possible? It certainly fits the pattern of Biblical storytelling. It seems something worth considering. Love your channel! there is not one place in the Bible that says “THE antichrist”. Antichrist is always in a plural sense. You will stay confused unless you let go of that Futurist nonsense. Bible scholars are taught to lie, knowingly or unknowingly. The Bible is like a puzzle, but if someone teaches false scripture, then that takes a piece out of the puzzle. Then the puzzle cannot be solved.
@@michaelseay9783 Technically not true (ie, that it only occurs in the plural). Both the plural “antichristoi” and singular “antichristos” are used in the Greek. But I get your point, that actual term “antichrist” isn’t necessarily used to refer to just one character in any of the contexts in which it is specifically used. However, other terms like
man of lawlessness, man of rebellion, son of destruction, son of perdition, et al, are all used for a figure referred to in the Bible that is usually equated to a singular person with the spirit of antichrist who appears on the scene. That said, my point wasn’t to promote a “futurist” perspective. I’m not necessarily a futurist myself… as I said above, I “hold loosely” to any eschatological perspective, recognizing that any of the variously held views all come at the text with preconceived notions and assumptions that lend toward an interpretation that reinforces those preconceptions. I’m not in any camp, but I try to be informed about them all and keep an open mind (and an open eye ;)). It could turn out that any one of them is correct, or they could all be wrong and it be something completely unexpected. As Dr Heiser said (paraphrasing), anyone who claims they have the exclusively correct interpretation can be safely ignored. The text just isn’t that crystal clear (almost certainly by design, BTW).

I think it's interesting how the mark of the beast, in chapter 13, is sandwiched between the same description of the saints identified in chapters 12 and 14.

Just bought this book on Kindle. Can't wait to read it. Was once terrified by my early rapture beliefs.
As far as finishing our original mandate, like with Eden when, Jesus returns, one can't help but think about when John said he saw a new Heaven and a new Earth that maybe that is what he was talking about? Couple that with the reference in the O.T. where the lion will lie down with the lamb, what else could he be referring to?

OK, here's my true believer's litmus test. According to the second day of creation, is the earth a sphere or flat, pressed out as a seal of a signet ring, as it is written?

My point exactly. How can one know the way truth and life, and weither or not they are a bundle to be bound and burned if they don't know "the end from the begining"? If they claim to be wise by the wisdom of this world (helio-sin-trick) they are fools. That is a strong delusion and the serpent speak of the dragon of Rome. If they can't see the truth of/ from the beginning they will love and believe the lie and be dammed. No it's not a salvation issue but it is thee truth issue. To denigh the creation accout of God thru Moses is to reject the truth of his divine appointments and authority. That's how the enemy had tried to change times and laws. This is foundational and fundamental.
It's not an assumption. Jesus Said " I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back to take you there so that where I am you can be also"....So yes, we will " disappear" so to speak...for a period of Earthly time....then the Bible clearly teaches that at Christs second descent to Earth that he brings ALL the Saints ( every born again believer) with him to set up his millennial rule from his beloved Jerusalem. I suggest you study the most in depth study of the ' rapture' by Pastor JD Farah of Huawei.
You must remember that the apostles saw the risen Jesus ascend in bodily form right in front of their eyes and I'm certain they would have told Paul this. Thus is being raised to the air to be with Jesus is not so far fetched in fact I believe it to be literal. In short I believe in a pre tribulation rapture 😊✝️🙏🔥❤️

Dr Heiser is right. Eschatology is a waste of time because it takes us away from what we should be doing now, in Christ, for Christ.

If you are seekers of truth, as you seem to be. May i suggest you look into Emanuel Swedenborg's work written in the late 1700's. He wrote extensively on the main tenants of Christianity which are 2 rules. To Love God and to worship Him by Loving all others more than yourself. He explains Love/Divine Love without which one will not believe the truths given to them and so not ever be able to use them correctly. He explains the levels of Heaven and Hell, the Spiritual world of Demons,Devil and Satan, of angels and their function, and lastly of alien worlds and our place among them. Best kept secret i know of and all the books are free. 🙏💗🧐 Great Video Thank you

Regarding procreation... the Bible says people in the age to come won't be given into marriage...they'll be like angels... so I believe there won't be procreation just like I don't believe angels give birth

Thanks for highlighting how This interview is filled with Biblical citations. The Bible interprets the Bible. Using the bible to understand the Book of Revelation is exactly what we did the entire time.

Revelation is not a letter in the traditional sense. Chapters 2 and 3 are quoting Jesus and what he is telling the ANGELS of those churches, not John writing to the churches. Irenaeus also disproves 616 as being a copyist error. And 666 being Nero only works if you transliterate to Hebrew which is not the same as translating, the original text was in greek. Nero commited suicide in 68AD and Revelation was written more than 20 years after. Most of Matthew 24 did not occur then.

I loved Heiser's re-supernaturalixing of the Bible but he was always skittish and obfuscating when eschatology was brought up. On the one hand we're being admonished for not taking the obviously supernatural parts of the Bible seriously, (Genesis 6, Palm 82, Deuteronomy 32: 8-9 etc.) but when it comes to the Apocalyptical books, Daniel, Revelation, The Olivet discourses of Matthew 25 and Luke 21, 1 Corinthians 15: 50-56, Isaiah, Zachariah and in just about every Old Testament prophet, major and minor, y'all go all Augustine rational ... trying to make Nero the beast ... who was no doubt a type of the horror to come.
Y'all are always conflating the Rapture with His 2nd coming /// if you examine Christ's ascension when the chosen few, (i.e. 'believers), were left staring up as Christ disappeared, were told by the two 'angels' that this same Christ would come back the same way. (i.e, gently with blessings ... I go to prepare a place for you and i will return to take you with me), which is very different from the conquering Christ with the WORD, (like a sword), in His mouth... that shatters all who stand against His Omnipotent power!
And then y'all ignore the earthquakes, the waters turning to blood and Wormwood. the world turning on its axis like a scroll etc. where vast numbers of the earth's occupants die in numbers never seen before until the Great Tribulation ... Y'all selectively take very few scriptures to justify your positions while ignoring the almost unbelievable shattering of the seals being opened!
As addendum ... man's rational mind always is filled with pride ... Calvinism and KJV only idiots for example ... man taking his pride of intellect too seriously!

There is no such thing as "end times". The bible is no more reliable than the works of JRR Tolkien. The experiences of someone with Jesus, is just their experiences being manifest in their mind. The bible is a work of fiction and mythology, and contains no prophecy. What appears to be prophecy is actually written after the fact.
Hello friend. You seem to be coming at this reacting to modern Western evangelicals who condemn people to Hell And think they have the Bible figured out. This channel stands with you and thinks they are are horrible representations of Jesus. When you get in touch with the real version of Jesus it produces hope, truth and the desire to love your neighbor as yourself.
