I remember the 1967 war . I was in second grade at Our Lady of Guadalupe School in El Sereno, California. Right when Israel was attacked, the nuns gathered the whole school into the auditorium and told us to bring our rosaries. They explained that God’s people were being attacked in Israel and that we were going to have a prayer session right then and there. We all got on our knees and started praying for Israel., not just the rosary, but individual personal prayers led by the nuns too. At the time, I had no idea what Israel was or where it was, but I knew people were being hurt and needed prayer. That was a measure of class and decency those nuns showed that is very rare today. I will never forget that day and I still pray for Israel.
That is so wonderful! They were blessed for doing so. I wish that our schools in America today were like the schools we attended in the early 1980’s. We were really the last generation of school kids who got to pray and were taught about God in school. It’s very sad.

today was my day of fasting for Israel!
To fast with Israel is a feast day activity. And to have joy while fasting is a holy duty. ✌️
