  • The Scriptures and early followers of Jesus were in constant dialogue with the Greco Roman world. Both with what they did and what they didn’t do ealy believers defied the lesser ruling gods of the Roman world. With worship, religious practices, and even daily life these early followers of Jesus stood out specifically opposed to the Roman religion. Understanding this gives us an enormous amount of context to the New Testament and even mission of scripture.

I love how Paul acknowledges the religiosity of his audience and gives a metaphysical and spacial understanding and draws it all to God and Jesus. Theres so much more he coukd have or may have said, but what is recorded is helpful.
Im not worried about the gods, as all things working together serve the unchanging plan of his will, so that Jesus evenly says to the satan that it behind him shall worship and serve only God, because all things are created for Jesus, from Jesus, to Jesus, and in Jesus are to be subjected in order unto the Father.
It is written of cowherder Krishna that he is all that Kamdhenu is, and, it is written of the Shepherd Lord that all the cattle of a thousand hills are his own. All that follow in Krishna would thus belong to most high God.
I sus that similar may be written regarding other gods, that there are ways that they may be considered lesser gods within sovereign God, and that God will be all in all.

This book is on my TBR, right after Solberg‘s Divergence and Bird‘s The Christ Key. There are so many great books popping up now, you’re absolutely right that the Holy Spirit‘s been up to something!
Please tell Nijay, that he has to start reading Heiser, like his book about the gospel message in Stranger Things!!😅

I know Ray Boltz is off the Christian music concert list due to sexual issues, but I totally believe the Holy Spirit was with that man & is still calling him back. Pray for him!
But watch his video, I Pledge Allegiance To The Lamb! He's not pledging to any flag and it's way before its time! It will give you chills in these days we live in now! His songs were written with the Spirit standing with him. I pray for his return daily. ❤

"Free for all culture" is no different than to each man doing what he thinks is right. That's chaos and outside of God's righteous sovereignty.

“For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.”

The LORD loves "the other" and "the nobody's" It saddens me just a little that the way he's talking about ancient religion and how we divide so quickly in the sane way Paul calls out the church at Corinth about, feels very much the same, a path of religion and a path of faith, hopefully The Bridesmaids awakens before being left out in the cold.

It represents a verse that God has used to lead me for much of my life.
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.”
      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭34‬ ‭ESV‬‬

All things working together serve the unchanging plan of his will, such that Jesus says to the satan "you shall worship and serve God only", similarly as he says to men "you shall love God and neighbor with your all", and that all are reconciled and everything to be restored and renewed, in spirit subjected unto the Father in Jesus to whom he draws man, and who fills the universe with his truth, even himself, that God may be all in all, all be one, perfect in eternal love, when we see him as he is.

"Polychromatic"? "Multicolored"? An adjective for time? No.
𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘, perhaps, tough not without avoiding coinage.
Also, ALL atonement is complete at the cross; "𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚..." - is not exegetical and, therefore, must include better speculative qualification, given its derivative nature; was the interviewee attempting a 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩?
Also, regarding adage use earlier in the conversation, one isn't to "𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳"; alterations of devices 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 clarification of said manipulation fails thought direction.
The interaction/integration points make good sense; the suspension of class and sex for proximal equality discussion is sensible and highly accurate.
Also, yuppies grew out of the Reaganism phenomenon of the early to mid 80s, not the 90s; we were quite conscious of such as well as their "preppy" scions.
