- its a long one but i give my true thoughts on the game and my thoughts on the decisions in the game that went against the mariners some may not like one opinion let me know your thoughts
Watched a lot of your videos as a Notts fan Dean, know your dad was also a Notts fan. You are always fair, agree 100% with what you've said here. We got lucky on the first 2 goals, it was offside, it was handball. Not sure about the penalty shout though which I agree with you with. We've had some great tussles over the last year's, Notts vs Mariners, some we've come out quite badly from I.e playoffs, thanks Mani Dieseruvwe 😂. The 5-5 last year was crazy and also beautiful. I expect another goal fest game at Blundell to come. Best of luck for the season Dean and Grimsby fans. Cracking clubs, both of them.
Thanks lee appreciate your comment i always am fair on this or try to be you did get fortunate with calls but overall no complaints you guys were the better side on the night we do have some great battles against each other i looked up at the sky full time and said that Notts got me this time to my dad i look forward to the next battle in the season later on and if i see you at Blundell park at the return game come say aup all the best for you and all the other Notts fans for the season we both have great fan bases lee we are all passionate about our clubs you cant ask for better
Hi Dean, good roundup as always. I thought it was a stonewall penalty. Not that it matters we were outplayed all over the pitch. I liked your comment about we tried to go toe to toe with Notts, I think you've hit the nail on the head there. I don't regret us doing that though, its given us a good measure of our capabilities with the players at hand. On a different day with a different ref and a non-injured Davies we might have drawn or (dare I say it) won that. Goals change games as Artell likes to say! But Notts do have some cracking players. When we're at full fitness and Notts pay us a visit I hope we take them on toe to toe again. Its never a dull game against the Magpies.
Thankyou Luke i think the penalty decision will divide people on the night it looked like it but not when i watched it back but in the end it didn't matter just a game we have to put down as a bad day at the office we roll on to tuesday mate we do need to become harder to break down because the defending was poor for the first two really we were outplayed without a doubt its always a great game with the magpies and i expect another good game at BP later in the season
Fair comments. The truth is that this season there are no outstanding teams. Some teams have an outstanding player or two but overall it's going to be a very, very tight race. All you need is a bit of luck and a decent run of form. Regarding the refereeing decisions. Well the poor old ref doesn't have the benefit of instant replay and must make an immediate call. this is gonna be a tight division i dont think there is a stand alone team this year either makes for a very exciting league and your 100 per cent right at this level the ref doesnt have instant replays i appreciate your contribution mate
Dean notts fan here missed the game as my wife was ill but had to watch it instead agree with you regards the first 2 goals but to be honest I think if we didn't score those I think we might of taken other chances I think your secretly a notts fan lol good luck for the rest of the season still won't wear my notts shirt in cleethorpes just incase as I visit regularly take care dean.
He has a soft spot for Notts. He said it in his last video!
haha thanks for the comment buddy you guys were the better team no question on the night mate no complaints from me but still hate you beat us by that margin im a mariner through and through mate always will be but i have a personal connection to notts which i have mentioned in the past but i wanted that win thursday take it easy mate good luck with your season apart from when you come to Blundell park haha
Grimsby wasn't bad, Dan Crowley, Jodi Jones and Alessana Jatta were brilliant. It could have been any team but Those thre were off the scale. There was a possible penalty that Grimsby should have had but it wasn't given.
Hi John you say town weren't bad we weren't good either we were overun by county a decent first few minutes but not much after that the quality of jones jatta and crowley were too much for us mate we tried to go toe to toe with them and it didnt work the pen as a town fan this hurts to say but it was not a penalty ainley went looking for it i accept at first view it looks it but on replay it shows the ref was right we need to just dust ourselves off and go again appreciate your comment mate
If you give a team two goals start they didn’t deserve it will lift them and have the opposite effect to the opposition so don't agree with you this time,1 1 at half time would have been a totally different second half in my opinion,l also disagree about the penalty but lm sure that that will be a topic for most of us. I agree with U Alister I thought we played good it was not a bad performance but Wen the ref given u a 2 goal lead like I said and U said momentum shift and it wud of being 1-1 at half time and 2nd half wud of being completely different
Alistair thankyou very much for your comment i appreciate it your right you give a team a 2 goal lead like that its not gonna end well at all and we disagree on the peno which is absolutely fine thats what opinions are for mate in a way its a good thing my only caveat is not all contact is a foul but thankyou for sharing the way you saw things as well
IM A GRIMSBY FAN AND I SAY IT WAS A definitely penno u admited there was contact and it was not contact on the ball he contacted the man so when u take the man b4 the ball IS THAT NOT A FOUL
David there was not enough contact to send ainley over like that it was not a foul in real time it looked it but looking at the replay and the refs position no penalty for us unfortunately not all contact constitutes a foul i know its not the outcome we wanted the offside yes it was handball yes but the pen no thanks for your comment buddy
@@deanwingate9906 yes he didn't need to go down like that but like i said a foul is when u don't get the ball and get the man there was definitely no part of the ball he touch he definitely got the man and stopped him and that's obstruction and was in the penalty area so there for its a penalty that is the law of the game I though he was going to get the ball b4 the defender and the defender stopped him iligal by stopping our player

That was the first game for years were we had any luck with refs but truth is you were not good enough
you did get some luck with the calls your first was offside and Crowley handball for sure but you guys were better no question you got the calls we didn't see you at BP later in the season

Ya I see u on TV dean sat pitch side the ref was a complete and utter discrace first two goals sud never have being given we sud of had a definite penno and I dnt think notts wud of scored more then two in that game no mind what that notts fan said cause if they wud they wud have had more then four my opinion bad reffing cost us at minimum a point it was a DISCRACE the game on a whole yes Jones and the fella that handballed did cause us problem but I think our heads went down when we realised that the ref was giving them everything if them two goals weren't given it wud of being 1-1 at half time and and completely different game in the second half thats my opinion to that shambles of a game and that shambles of a ref sorry bout the rant but thats my feeling on that game we never stood a chance with a ref like that U cud see he favoured notts from the beginning of yea and it was never a 4-1 game even though that was the score line
i was there mate the ref did give them an amount of decisions and like ive said the offside was wrong he was off the hand ball was wrong to both those goals should have been disallowed we are not gonna agree on the penalty mate and thats fine its not always about agreeing so i respect your opinion and like your above comment thankyou for your input mate

Notts had better players but the referee and linesman knocked the stuffing out of us. Every town player in the box immediately called it, and the balls flight changed. They appealed for the offside too. When you are 2 down to the referee in 15 minutes you might as well pack up!
