Watching these people walk around the hometown where I grew up and live is quite a vibe
Man, I was a PA on this movie, and I did not see a single thing you describe in this, and it's blowing my mind.
Jin has been running away his entire life and should stay put for once, and Casey has been tethered to the town her entire life, too scared to run away. I love that their roles flipped at the end of the movie, yet it is exactly what they needed. Great film
Elisha Christian proves herself as an amazing cinematographer. Bravo!
Sometimes UA-cam algorithms pay off. I watched a different "Columbus" essay yesterday and yours popped up today. I'm very grateful - it's a magnetic movie, and your insights are compelling. Thank you!
I cannot believe how few subs you've got. This is quality, quality analysis that makes really compelling connections across two cinematic bodies of work I wouldn't have thought had anything in common. Cannot wait to watch columbus now...
Thank you! Well, I only just started this week, but any new ones help! 😀
I came here to listen about Columbus and I left curios about Antonioni... thank you
Great stuff. A grossly overlooked piece of film-making . Keep up these video Essays. Good insight.
Wow after rewatch and rewatch, you picked up on subtleties I have never noticed. Love that
This is excellent, it's incredibly hard to find a UA-camr who can properly analyse a film and bring something interesting to the table, instead of mumbling the wikipedia plot for 20 minutes.
Thanks for sharing! Wish you could keep uploading videos

I keep watching the film Columbus over and over again and it moves me so much but i don't know why and I don't find the words to describe the film or the emotions i feel when I watch it. And you just found the words.. so perfect and so smoothly. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Great contrast. Columbus is one of the best films of the last 10 years.
