I thought it was better than the first one. But as someone who's name is Discovering the I, the way it shows the complex nature of how we form our identity and sense of self is so awesomely done, I couldn't help but love it.
I’m glad you like it John, because I’m going to watch that soon.
I absolutely love the first Inside Out. It’s my favourite Pixar film. I loved Inside Out 2 too (see what I did there!). While I don’t think it’s as good as the first one, it is just as smart.
It looked good in 3D. I didn't expect that volume of visual interaction for a movie about emotions. They did a good job of visualizing abstract concepts.
The 3D blew me away. I was so impressed with the stereo, it really enhanced key moments by upping the intensity
Inside Out 2 was a lovely movie and I think it has a powerful message with an impactful climax. Doesn't quite have the emotional gut punch of the original movie like the Bing Bong death scene and the reconciliation scene with the parents, but it works well. I wouldn't quite put it as top tier Pixar, which I reserve for the Toy Story movies, Up, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles, but its very solidly towards the top end of the second tier along with Ratatouille, Monster's Inc, Wall-E etc... Its probably the best Pixar sequel outside of the Toy Story sequels. Will need to rewatch Incredibles 2 to be sure.
They’ll def make a third one wtf 😂😂😂 (should end at three !!)
I think we get
3 - focus on college
4- marriage , family , high school reunion
5- being a grandma old and reflecting on life.
@@gabrielcastaneda9700 over doing it
Yeah!
@@gabrielcastaneda9700 I don't want to see Riley as an adult tbh, I am perfectly fine with stopping when she goes to college
#InsideOut2 was such an awesome movie. Just as good as the first. Very relatable for those who've had to grow up. Lots of humor, great score, and loved all of the emotions
Maya Hawke, Amy Poehler, Sadness, and Ayo Edebiri were the VIPs. More Ennui and Disgust, please.
Inside Out was one of my favourite movies. I was waiting for 9 years for Inside Out 2 to release. When I went to book tickets I found out Disney isn't releasing it in my country. Why? Disney Why? 😭😭😭
Which country?

This movie was phenomenal, I was super excited for this one, Inside Out is my second favorite Pixar movie of all time only behind the original Incredibles, and just like with that movie it was one of those movies where it seemed to totally make sense to do a sequel, with the idea of personified emotions there were so many interesting places I thought they could take this story, and they did just that
The main characters are all still great, and what I love is that because of the lessons about how each emotion is important that they learned from the last movie you can tell that this time around they have much more comradery with each other, before it was like “Joy is the most important” “Sadness should be pushed to the sidelines” etc. but now they all see each other as important and they act much more like a team this time around, most of the new emotions are solid too, Anxiety was a good antagonist, Envy was probably my least favorite as she didn’t really have much to offer as an interesting character compared to the others, Boredom was really funny but Embarrassment totally stole the show, although he was silent his personality was so adorable and I just wanted to give him the biggest hugs whenever he felt bad
And much like with the first movie the actual story that the trailers don’t really give away is great and really holds a mirror up to teens and how they act in a lot of social situations that they find themselves in, and it really taps into a very relevant psychological mindset that a lot of them have around this age, and once again they expand more on the different parts of Riley’s mind being personified into actual places like the stream of consciousness, sarcasm being an actual chasm etc. there was 1 part in particular that caught me off guard because the things in it were actually a different visual style than the rest of the movie and I thought it was really funny
I don’t really have that many major negatives but I guess I’ll say that like I said earlier Envy wasn’t really that interesting of a character, the final resolution does feel *a little* similar to the first movie, not the situation outside of Riley’s mind but in it, when you actually see it I think you’ll know what I’m talking about, and this isn’t really a huge negative but there’s a part in this movie that sets up something that you think is gonna have a really funny payoff at the end of the movie or something but ultimately it never actually comes back, and I was a little bummed out because again I thought it was leading up to something really funny but it didn’t
But in the end I thought this was an outstanding sequel, with Pixar being a little hit and miss lately this definitely seemed like a true return to form for them, the character growth and world building are great, most of the new emotions are awesome and much like The Incredibles 2 even if it’s not quite as good as the first movie I still love this one in it’s own right. 9/10
It wasn't Long enough! Why isn't anyone talking about how short the movie felt!!😢 am I the only onee, I wanted to see 2 whole hours of inside out... loved it so much!
Ok so, I 100% agree with most of the things in this vid, but I don’t believe for a second that inside out isn’t getting a third movie
I’m sure audiences would love a third and the studio would like to make one, but I don’t think there’s any subject matter left that’s appropriate.
@@waydephilpot3749Nahhh, you could definitely talk about her entering her 20’s and later life
@@waydephilpot3749 My wife and I were talking about this. What would it look like to introduce older Riley and the development of her emotions as she grows up even more? Is there a way to make it child-friendly, we weren't so sure. It just seems that unless they keep her at the same age, there would simply be things that are not appropriate for a 9-year-old viewer to watch.
I am Sure there will be Part 3. Its so interesting to See how her Feelings will Change when she is grown
@@waydephilpot3749 I'm sure there is, Riley going off the college would make a good topic
Pixar going back to their IP well seems like it's gonna be the right choice. The movie is gonna make over $100M opening weekend
I’m seeing it today. I can’t wait to watch it
I love this… The ending was WAY too well put together!! I think this was just as good!!
4 simple words that keep repeating at the end, especially in the peak of the climax.. oh my god, it hits so hard
Saw it today loved it
Inside Out 2 was quite good. Not as good as the 1st film (to me) but still quite good. Turning Red, Inside Out 2 and Elemental were all great. I didn't care much for Luca, Lightyear, or Soul though.
Aren’t all the Pixar movies in the same universe? Lmao
Lol
Always check to see if there's a post credit. If it's not a superhero movie, I check Wikipedia to make sure there's a post credit scene or not.
Mediastinger is another good one for post credit scenes
There is
Just been to see it. Whilst 1st one is (arguably the better film), this one is hit me harder.
****Minor spoiler****
There's a big hug at the end and, oh how the tears did flow.
“I’m not good enough”. I don’t know how I didn’t see that coming but I absolutely love that direction
I agree I loved it but the 1st is better. But I honestly think Inside Out is a near perfect animated movie, so for the sequel to not quite reach those heights isn't much of a negative considering the level of movie it's being compared to.
I’m seeing it tonight in my country of Australia
Fun fact: Ayo Edebiri who voices Envy is Missy from Big Mouth which is one my favourite adult animation shows right now
Can always depend on Johnathan’s useless “yeah” “uh huh” and grunts
He is fast-checker Jonathan.
Producer Jonathan*
@@hanifameen4056 Did he get a promotion? I must have missed that.
@@thehousethathulkbuilt3883 nah abt 2 years back John use to call him fact checker Jonathan. Then just after they started sponsorships they started to call him producer Jonathan. They haven't called him that in a while I think though.
Did they see the first 30 minutes at cinemacon? Not sure if they mentioned it yet
Iam going to watch if is it worth it
I loved the first one so much, this one was great, just not as great as the first one. I love how anxiety was portrayed and how the emotions are brought into this journey as Riley is growing up. Would recommend to anyone no matter your age!
I haven’t seen it yet
No offense but who the hell compares Inside Out to Big Mouth
Yo bro if you maybe need a good thumbnail designer let me know so i can show u some of my work
I think ray does that
Honestly, loved Inside Out, personally i think I love part more
"Remember we talked about BigMouth" lmaooo she's the only one who keeps brining it up. As if it's an intelligent point. Is she paid by BigMouth or something. So weird
1
I actually liked the second one better. Maybe it’s because I went in with super low expectations because I honestly didn’t like the first one.
Fair enough
Will you please stop moaning about Lightyear every time you talk about a Pixar film.
No thanks.
There was a good reason to bring it up…
@aarongutierrez7705 what good reason. Oh! And I would check the Rotten Tomatoes scores on this so-called awful film.
@@aarongutierrez7705not to mention he has the radio host and podcaster vibe (it is a podcast), he has grown the habit of repeating points from previous videos (endlessly) in the off chance theirs a new viewer to get them in the loop of how he feels or his general point (similar to how he always introduces himself and crew every single episode)
Ok, my complaint is that he only does this about Pixar films. You do not hear him when talking about any other film company by mentioning a previous film from that company that he did not like.
If there was anything in common with the films, then fine. Lightyear and Inside Out 2 have different directors and different writers. They are not even part of the same world.
It is just become effing boring.
I realize now that our tastes have completely diverged. This movie was terrible.
