- Majella was 12 years old when she was shot in the back and killed by a British solider in Northern Ireland. 44 years later, no one has been held accountable. The Police in Northern Ireland need to urgently launch an independent investigation.

As someone from Armagh, I've never forgotten this , and the image of Majella. Still no justice.

Amnesty international needs to go after the entire institution of England for worldwide atrocities against humanity. This little girl deserves justice, Ireland deserves justice, and every colonized country and culture deserves justice.

The double edge of justice needs brought down on the soldiers, paramilitaries and all the others that colluded and turned a blind eye to the bloodshed that happened. Good Friday agreement was a joke.
Much better to bring their political masters to justice .
As a Born and bred British person of Irish Ancestry, when I hear of things like this, it makes me feel ashamed to say I`m British. I hope that This little Girls Family get the Justice they deserve. God Bless Her 🙏.

@@joprocter4573 Watch the Video, it`s perfectly clear as to who was responsible for what happened to this little girl, the only thing not stated is the person who pulled the Trigger. What more proof do you need?
@@stephensmith4480 You need to know whether the shooting was deliberate or an accident. Maybe the soldier was fired on by a sniper, fired back and hit the child.
@@jonoessex I wasn`t suggesting that it was done on purpose but everyone has to be responsible for their actions and more so, the outcome of those actions and that goes for everyone, either in public service or in the capacity as a civilian, that`s the point I was making.
@@stephensmith4480 Yes we all have to be responsible for our actions but the important point is was it deliberate or an accident? This video doesn't make that clear. It's extremely one-sided and very anti-British.

Yes this is pure IRA propaganda. If you are making a video about a disputed shooting incident you have to present the perspective of both sides not just one side.

What were the circumstances in which this took place? What is the account given by the soldiers themselves? This is IRA propaganda not a video concerned with human rights. Is Amnesty International concerned with promoting Irish republicanism or human rights.
@@anniegrath1417 Yes I had not heard of it but have read now. It seems the truth is uncertain, one word against another (or a few nationalists word against a soldier). There are two sides but this video is very one-sided and emotive, not objective.

In fact Britain had a huge inquiry into the killing of Irish people on Bloody sunday and none into atrocities against us by IRA etc. The point is that AI do not criticise the IRA for human rights abuses only the security forces. The video is very one-sided and propagandistic. That is the point. The paramilitaries should be held to account as well.
@@anniegrath1417 I've already said to you that my problem is with the one-sided nature of the video and the emotive demonisation of the British Army in the video. That is exclusively my problem. I have no problem with British soldiers who have genuinely committed crimes being prosecuted but as long as IRA and loyalists are prosecuted as well. I support the legacy bill because it extends the effective amnesty the IRA enjoy to British soldiers.
@@jonoessex I am not seeing the correlation between atrocities committed by known or unknown terrorists and killings committed by a country’s Armed Forces.
The MoD apologised to the family in this case some 11 years ago stating that the explanation offered by Williams, the soldier who shot this 12 year old twice in the back, was “unlikely” and they were basing this assessment on the RUC’s investigation.
Majella was killed in 1976, were paramilitaries convicted and sent to prison in 1976? How many noted “suspicious killings” by British security personnel during the conflict actually led to convictions prior to the signing of the GFA?
If they are seen as criminal acts now, were soldiers and other British security personnel given an amnesty from prosecution during the conflict?
@@arthurgoodness7865 The "correlation" is that the terrorists and a country's armed forces have engaged in violence and taken people's lives, they should both therefore be held accountable. In any case one person's terrorist is another persons freedom fighter. If the IRA are freedom-fighters (as their supporters contend) they should certainly be held accountable for human rights abuses the same as the British Army.
They didn't find out the facts for certain. That is a crucial point, this video only shows one side as if it's objective truth.
I'm not sure how many British army killings led to convictions but if someone was guilty they should have been prosecuted at the time. It's surprising that they weren't. Large numbers of IRA men were not prosecuted either. Adams and Mcguinness spent little time in prison.
There was no formal amnesty for soldiers during the troubles, why so few were prosecuted is a matter for discussion. Lee Clegg was send to prison in the early 90's for a killing but got released, the fact he spent time in prison shows there was no amnesty.
