- Currently I keep three crocodile skinks (Tribolonotus gracilis) in my adults' tank: the breeding pair and a ~9 months old juvenile, though the juvenile needs to be separated soon.
Most crocodile skinks are very secretive and shy and hide most of the time. "Taming" them takes a lot of time and even more patience, but it's really worth the effort to get them used to tweezers- or hand-feeding.

General Information on Tribolonotus gracilis:
"Tribolonotus gracilis is a species of skink endemic to New Guinea.
Tribolonotus gracilis are found in New Guinea. They live in tropical forests and have also been found in human-populated areas.
They are commonly known as red-eyed crocodile skinks, or, rarely, red-eyed bush crocodile skinks.
Tribolonotus gracilis is one of the few species of lizards that vocalize when in distress. When startled, they tend to freeze and have been known to "play dead" (even when handled).
Red-eyed crocodile skinks can be sexed using the pores on their front feet as only males have these "pores". Females have only a single working ovary (right ovary), laying one egg at a time. The female often curls around the egg. They show tendencies for mother-child family groups. Male crocodile skinks will battle other males for females and females can be territorial as well."

Hello, I wanted to ask what you did step by step to more so, tame your skinks to where they would approach you to get food from your hands without being so scared. Could you perhaps even make a video on tips and tricks to attain that level of trust with your skinks?
ever use phoenix worms? they have a calcium content of 8,155ppm so there good for stuff that doesn't like dust
Not yet. But I think earthworms have still a higher calcium content, don't they?

Hi there! U have an awesome croc skink family! I just got mine one week ago to be exact & he hasn’t been eating anything at all, i’ve tried superworm & crickets but he doesn’t seems to have any interest. He hides in his cave most of the time & very shy. I’m kinda worried now
How's it going with your croc skink? Probably just need to adapt. Some suppliers sell them directly to customers without acclimating it first. Would help if you provide lots of hides and maintain moisture. Keeping the viv dim-lighted would also be helpful.

They are very tame. My croc skink is too shy
It's totally normal that crocodile skinks are very shy, my skink are more of an exception, and it took a long time to get them that tame. :)
Aqua Terra-Life, Muss man Feuersalamander in Winterstarre versetzen oder kann man das auch weglassen ? Und wenn ja, wann und wie und wie soll man sie dann füttern? meine sind erst dieses Jahr aus dem Wasser gekommen. Und sind meine ersten.
Feuersalamander halten keine Winterstarre, sondern nur Winterruhe, das heißt sie können zwischendurch immer wieder mal aktiv sein, je nach Temperatur. In dem Alter lasse ich meine noch nicht überwintern, frühestens ab ihrem 2. Winter. Die Überwinterung fidnet bei mri in der Garage bei 2-12°C statt (schwankt je nach Außentemperatur). Wenn es über 4° sind, sind auch immer mal welche aktiv, deswegen gebe ich ab und zu mal Regenwürmer oder Asseln als Dauerfutter mit in die Boxen. Auf Heimchen und andere sehr Chitin-haltige Futtertiere sollte man verzichten, weil sie im Winter noch schlechter zu verdauen sind.

Hello, I've been watching your red eye croc skink videos as a new owner of two. I've noticed that you had a breeding pair with you and I was wondering if you could help me solve my dilemma.. I have a young male which recently became around 1 year. And according to the seller I got a female which is roughly 2-3 years old. One day I heard my male making crying noises and running away to the other side of the Viv. I never seen him go down false background since, he pretty much started living in the second floor away from the other skink. That's when it got me that the other skink may be a male as well. Young male has two enlarged scales on his tummy and pores on the back of his feet, I'm confident he is definitely male. The other one does not have enlarged scales but has pores on the back legs as visible as the other skinks. I am unable to take them to repltile vet as there is no professionals around my city at all! Could you please let me know your opinion, would be much appreciated!
Hello, if both skinks have pores on their feet you most probably have two males. I'd recommend to separate them as soon as possible, as crocodile skinks of the same sex tend to be very aggressive towards each other. I once lost 4 juveniles because of the biggest juvenile that became aggressive towards its siblings and attacked them. :/
I'd also check the skinks to see if they have any open wounds that need to be cleaned.

Hi, i only have one (old) breeding pair, which produces at most one egg every 3 months. So I usually don't have many offspring to give away. I also don't have a website, only my social media sites (UA-cam, Instagram, Facebook).
