You never cease to amaze me with your generous sharing of your knowledge about art and even supplying links. Thanks again Cat for this informative session 👏
Thank you for all the information. I am starting my life over after years of caring for people. I am an artist, but whatt to begin a business. I am currently at a friend's helping their family. So I'm working on building up some work. Your tips are helpful. And I enjoy listening to you. I'm also on Instagram.
I'm so glad that you found this session helpful. I do this type of thing about every other month. If you subscribe to my newsletter you will know when!
Your tutorials are amazing. Thank you so much for your generosity! I’m having so much frustration with laying my papers down without bubbling. I’m using Liquitex matte medium on top as I go but when I smooth the bubbles out I’m lifting color, especially with magazine papers. Thoughts?
Gluing magazines is tricky, and I'll add this to videos I need to create. But to answer your question, you might try putting a quick layer of matte medium on the magazine piece an let dry before you glue to your collage. Then glue it to the collage. Lightly spraying the back of the magazine with water before gluing also helps.
Thank you so much for sharing all this info! I love learning your tips and tricks! I’ve learned so much from you already and discovered how much fun it is to create collage art.
Another great and generous video sharing your knowledge and experience. We all learn from each other and there is enough abundance out there for all of us to be successful. Happy holidays!
I have a question for you, Catherine: if I want to make a collage on canvas, can I glue the paper directly, or do I have to prepare it somehow? Thank you if you will answer me.
Hi Cat. Great video with answers to lots of questions. I just signed up for The Kickstarter Workshop, but did not see where to sign up for the January Workshop, Collage Joy. I just finally got to retire 🎉 and now have the time to take a longer workshop.
I'm thrilled that you'll be joining me for Collage Kickstart LIVE! As a result, you are already on the VIP Waitlist for Collage Joy, which comes with a significant discount. The doors will open for you to sign up for the larger class mid-way through Collage Kickstart. I assume you are taking the 10-day live class?
I am! April 20 will be the first demo. I was taking a break while I finished Collage Joy for the year. Thanks for asking, and look forward to seeing you live a week from Monday!
Great idea for the next time I hold a session like this. The board is a cradled board, what I mount my collages onto. Google cradled board and this will make sense. Anything else you'd like for me to clarify?

YOU are the dearest soul Dianne. So grateful for your loving appreciation for what I'm putting out into the world. Thank you my friend.

Cat do you have a UA-cam on how to make the multicolored circles with what looks like cellophane in the centers that go on the windows? Thx in advance
I saw that on Instagram, and was wondering how to do that myself. Unfortunately, haven't tackled that one yet! But its on the list!

I truly appreciate your positive feedback about this Q&A session. Thanks for letting me know that found it valuable.
Tombow Mono Liquid Glue is wonderful. It settles down very nicely.
Great information, thank you.
Good to know! Thank you!
Lots of great info!!! Thank you!
So glad that you found it useful! Thanks for the feedback.
Hello Catherine, have you try to do the bubble techniques over canvas?
I haven't personally done this, but understand from others that this will work.
I have a question for you, Catherine: if I want to make a collage on canvas, can I glue the paper directly, or do I have to prepare it somehow? Thank you if you will answer me.
Yes you can glue the paper directly on the canvas. I would use something like a medium (a liquid glue) to do the gluing.
@@catrains.artist thank you for your kind reply.
Great information, Thanks Catherine
You are so welcome!

Hi Catherine, is nori paste good for collage paper?
I know other artists that use this glue, but I've never tried it. Sounds like you'll need to experiment to find out, then tell me what you find!
Will do. Thank you for the wonderful videos!
My question
.. what do u do with your collage book
Can you be more specific? I'm not sure what you are asking. What dod I do with my sketchbooks filled with collages?
@@catrains.artist l wanted to take idea like how to use the collage books after creating such beautiful master pieces.. l hope it’s clear 😊❤️
@@mycrafeterialifestyle I use the collage sketchbooks as inspiration for larger collages.
@@catrains.artist thank you for your reply ❤️🌸
As a newbie, I'd appreciate actually seeing if possible the items you're talking about, eg, the board?? Not sure if that's the correct term.
