I’m 53 and have cerebral palsy and am a hemiplegic so I have little use of my left extremities so thanks for the suggestions. I’m actually going to see if my daughter knows about your channel. She told me about Squimy and Grubs a long time ago and that’s how I found your channel 💞 she’s been an occupational therapist for almost a year and is always looking for new ideas to help her patients during their recovery and therapy sessions. She told me that growing up in our family was an inspiration to help others with disabilities because it her “normal “ life growing up with me as her Mom. My husband and I are so proud of her dedication and determination to help others recovering from all types of injuries/trauma ❤
You two are truly amazing people and reaching out to everyone who watches your videos helps so much in all different ways. THANK YOU 🙏❤️

Chrisma, you do a great job helping Cole to be independent. I recall when y'all were at his parents. Once you were instrumental in y'all moving and living as a couple, Cole has learned a lot of techniques to do be independent. You are the best, girl. I guess that part of being a caregiver for your husband. ❤❤❤

Have you ever approached a rehab centre perhaps assist in mentoring people learning to live with spinal injuries. It has taken years for you to figure out whats out there that can be adapted for you, perhaps your experience and positive attitude can help someone adapt to their new life much more quickly. If I was new quad, I would take some inspiration to being mentored or having someone like you as part of my rehab team. Your life is so normal that it must give hope to people. Yes there is a lot you can't do easily but all the important things, you seem to manage so well. You have so much independence that it is great for newly injured people to see that life can still be awesome, even with a spinal injury.

I have absolutely visited people in rehab centers in the past and tried to be a mentor for them! What I love about UA-cam is the ability to do the same thing and reach a much larger audience. I hope our videos are helping so many people in the disability community and beyond

@@coleandcharismaI had my car accident in 1999-before the world of all things UA-cam. So I know for a fact just how it could help someone to watch your channel. Not just for the information relating to a SCI specifically but also emotionally and mentally dealing with a life changing injury. Some people could very well feel like they have to say goodbye to the plans they had for their future on a personal level but that doesn’t have to be the case and they can literally see that with channels like or similar to this one.

I can be having a day from HELL; car on fumes because I'm broke, dog peed at the front door, door handle fell off my hoopty, temu package has not shown up YET; lost my $5 bill, got a shut off notice...etc. But if I come in and put Charisma & Cole on & I see that wedding montage, I DEVOVLE into HAPPY TEARS!! I'VE GOT TO GET IT TOGETHER!! But seeing that, every single time, renews my faith, touches my heart, gives me hope, & just makes me happy!! Please guys, dont ever stop making your videos because you are a source of great joy & understanding. The love that radiates, the commitment, the devotion, dedication & the way God moved in such an unexpected way because HE KNEW IT WAS PERFECT, it just touches my heart! I can relate to Charisma..I too am a black female but even if I wasnt, it is just a beautiful thing.
I just heard Charisma tell Cole, "Say vibrating toothbrush" .................................WHY does she have to say that?? Or think that?? WHY are people even thinking about those things?..do they prop a ladder up to their neighbors house to peep in their bedroom??? WHY are some people so sick? (Now I'm mad again.) Why cant they just be grateful to see the love, joy & happiness that they NEVER get to see in this terrible world. Keep them coming guys. Ive been with you for the whole ride & Im cheering you on & loving it. Ms. Donna PARHAM from Richmond. lol

I’ve mentioned this to you before, but my son has a touch of CP and has a bit of trouble maneuvering his hands and grasping a tight enough grip to do some of these personal hygiene things and I’ve been constantly buying different devices to try and having to throw it away a try something new because none of them work! But I haven’t tried the floss vibrating one, I think it could really help! Thanks so much for what you do here. You two are so so helpful and you’re making a huge difference.❤❤❤

I have about the same level of injury as Cole (i.e. C5/6 complete). I have always had my caregivers floss my teeth for me. I first saw Flaus on Shark Tank but I was not convinced that I could use it independently. Then I saw this video of Cole using Flaus. I decided to buy one at that point.
I had periodontal maintenance last week and the dentist was surprised to find that I had no bleeding from my gums whatsoever when she did my cleaning. She said it's uncommon and it's a sign of healthy gums. She also told me that all of my pocket measurements got smaller when she did the periodontal charting. She said I was doing a good job with the Flaus and to keep it up.

Great video, as always! Loved seeing all the adaptive self-care. One thing I was a bit curious about was the ear wax tool. I have heard some say that they can possibly do damage if used incorrectly. An ear doctor on UA-cam was not a fan of them. And here I am wondering, "What happens if Cole has a spasm while using that in his ear?" Just a thought. Be careful with that think, Cole. 🙂

It reminds me of my father. He passed 3 years ago when he was 63 yo. He was not quadriplegic, but he had Little's desease (some kind of tetraparesis), both his legs and both his hands was like Cole's hands in this video. Despite of this condition, my father was an artist (I have some of his paitings).
