But it doesn't make sense because it has a payload of 4,500 pounds, but only a max towing of 3,000 pounds. Even if you had 8 passengers in it at 300 pounds a piece (thinking maybe big swat guys with a bunch of gear on) you're only at 2,400 pounds. And I'd be surprised if you could even fit another 2,100 pounds in the trunk, I mean you could, but that's a lot of weight there's nothing practical that would weigh that much and need to be transported in a suburban. Seems rather pointless to have 4,500 pounds of payload in a Suburban with only 3k pounds of towing. It would be cool if it had 3-4k pounds in payload with a max tow of around 10-12k pounds so a family could seat 8 people in it and tow a good size camper or boat or horse trailer or something. Or with the Duramax in it, that would be even better.
Duraburb makes 3500 diesel suburbans they are just as if gm made the truck in factory and you can it they also convert 1500 Tahoe's 1500 suburbans and 2500 gm SUVs and truck to diesel and are completely emissions compliment and everything simply works they do amazing work UA-cam them
Yea, after seeing the suburban, I expect quite a lot, especially from the Escalade, I expect it to at least be on par with the x7 and the gls, maybe even better?
The reason it looks like that is because fiat owns GM and they own Chrysler. So fiat is trying to save money by using similar designs, and architecture from the two main companies that they own so it would not cost them a lot more money by hiring two different design teams to design two different SUVs. And fiat has not been known very well for reliability, and quality, but they have been known very well for being cheap and cheaping out on things.
@@cameltoast I heard of that a few years back, but I could be wrong. But there were a few people talking about fiat owning Chrysler and GM after the us government bailed them both out back in 2008. But like I said I could be wrong. And gm also copied the sliding second row seats from the ford expedition and Lincoln navigator.
Finally, air suspension, magnetic ride, 3.0 Duramax, quad exhaust, high country, 10 inch screen, independent rear suspension, 10 speed trans!!!! And it looks great, thank you Chevy!!!!!!!!

Interior is a massive step up from the current model but let's be honest , most of us are interested (Based on recent interior shots) in what the new Escalade is bringing. This should do well for Chevy though. 👍
The main complaint people have of the Silverado is it’s interior. It would’ve been tolerable for people with the front end because the front end looks bad ass. At least to me. Although I love Chevy, I can admit their interiors are dated!
Just when ford thought the new navigator and expedition had COMPETITION chevy comes out with fire power... WOW. That is one clean slick design on the TAHOE

I have a 2017 Suburban and I can tell you first hand that that they get far better gas mileage than most people would believe. Around town I get 19.5 day-in day-out. My wife and I have been on several camping trips out in the Western US and the last trip (2300 miles) was 22.4 trip average. This is driving back roads, some freeways, up steep mountain, some city stop-and-go, road construction delays, and a lot of secondary highways, etc. During one full day of driving in Montana we got 25.0. And one 400 mile stretch produced 27.0 MPG. Now, I have to say that my particular Suburban does NOT have the optional heavy duty trailer package which comes with a 3.43 rear-end. I have the standard tow-package that comes with all Suburbans that has a 3.08 rear-end. So naturally it does we'll on the highway just on that account. But also, the 5.3 V8 has cylinder deactivation, so at highway speeds it seamlessly cuts down to 4 cylinders. Combine that with variable valve timing, direct fuel injection, and some aerodynamic features like flaps in front on the radiator that close at highway speeds, and you can easily see why my Suburban get great MPG for a 3-ton vehicle. It's comfortable, safe, versatile, efficient, built like a bank vault, and a joy to drive, especially on long trips. Ask anyone who owns one and they will tell you there is nothing like them.
@@noobeenaut what space is freed up? The shifter on the column is in a location that is used by nothing else. Yet, I HAVE seen other things in the location of that push button shifter.

The back looks like a giant minivan.
I thought the exact same thing.
They need to bring back the 2500/3500 heavy duty suburban and Yukon’s with the duramax
There was no 3500 Suburban and they never put the Duramax in it. But, a 2500 Suburban with the Durmax would be sweet.
dedalliance1 my friends dad had a 3500 suburban with a 454. OBS
@@dedalliance1 If you look them up the 3500 are all Law Enforcement spec trucks
@@Nebula1701 You're right, I just looked it up. gmauthority.com/blog/2017/07/chevy-suburban-3500hd-heavy-duty-vs-chevrolet-suburban/
They're only fleet vehicles.
Duraburb makes 3500 diesel suburbans they are just as if gm made the truck in factory and you can it they also convert 1500 Tahoe's 1500 suburbans and 2500 gm SUVs and truck to diesel and are completely emissions compliment and everything simply works they do amazing work UA-cam them
The new Chevy Suburban and Tahoe looks amazing I can’t wait for the GMC Yukon and the Cadillac Escalade
Yea, after seeing the suburban, I expect quite a lot, especially from the Escalade, I expect it to at least be on par with the x7 and the gls, maybe even better?
The push button shifter is the biggest deal breaker for me! I love the good ol column shifters! Other than that it's a nice SUV
Same it’s disappointing to lose that :(
DG 02 but you have more space in cemtral consol
Really I love the new transmission that is one of the reason why I want one
The back of it instantly reminded me of a dam Chrysler Pacifica
Nailed it! That's exactly what the back looks like. I don't know what GM is smoking with these truck designs.
They would have been better if using the new front end and keeping the rear of the last generation
@@marcalt26 Fiat owns GM this is news to me. Are you sure? I've heard nothing of this Fiat owns Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, etc
@@cameltoast I heard of that a few years back, but I could be wrong. But there were a few people talking about fiat owning Chrysler and GM after the us government bailed them both out back in 2008. But like I said I could be wrong. But there could be some type of collaboration between fiat Chrysler and GM by the way some of the interior and some exterior rear designs looking like a Chrysler Pacifica, unless GM is stealing ideas from other company's like they did with the chevy hhr and the Chrysler pt cruiser.
The 2007-2014 LTZ Suburbans had air shocks in the rear... not user-adjustable
I'm honestly excited to see what Cadillac will bring to the table, I expect it to be on par or maybe even better than the gls, the x7 and the navigator? Who know?
Yuk. Suburban looks like a friggin mini van from the back
Yeah like a Chrysler van
Exactly what I thought! So bloated
Exactly what I thought. The Z is the only decent looking one. #OBS4lyfe
Your high, looks nothing like mini van..
The 2020 is better
I’m glad they put the Diesel engine in the full size SUV
only took 20 years to bring it back to the full size.
It's the wrong size though
You are glad they did it for you
It's got the same love it or hate it front the new Silverado has , I think it looks quite good. Interior is a massive step up from the current model but let's be honest , most of us are interested (Based on recent interior shots) in what the new Escalade is bringing. This should do well for Chevy though. 👍
I never was much for the Cadillac variant of Suburban. Too much rapper bling for my taste. I'll take the original every time.
Rear end looks like it was rear ended....by a Chrysler badge
I instantly thought it was a dam Pacifica
Looks absolutely terrible lol
Lol
Looks like shit , it’ looks confused
Anthony Hernandez no it looks just like the Ford Expedition, if you really compare
Like them or not they still will remain the best selling fullsize suvs.
Pains me to admit I would strongly consider an Expedition or Navigator
First place today doesn’t mean first place forever
Only a young blood would think that way.
No wonder Chevy sells them below MSRP 8k+
Until Ram produces a full size suv.
I like it, I will miss the column shifter but time changes. But my favorite looking Tahoe/Suburban is the 95-99 inside a out.
There has been several Z71 Tahoe’s. Current model, and late model.
And Suburbans!
i was just thinking that like ive seen 3 today 2007 model year and a 2016 one
You're correct. I didn't explain it the way I meant to.
Z71 has been around for a while as a package that could be added to other trims.
Now, it's a standalone trim level.

I like everything aside the push-button transmission
Gabriel430 Chavez The column shifter fits much better on an suv as big as a Tahoe or Suburban
Gabriel430 Chavez In my opinion. I like the a good ol fashion column shifter in my trucks but in a suv I’d prefer the push button selector, gives it more of an high end feeling. Like in ram trucks the shifter is a dial. Not very truck like to me. It’s a truck not a luxurious car

At least they didnt came up with a “ turbo V6” , V8 for ever!
Yesss!!
Kinda stupid. Let people order any powertrain they wish, in any trim level. If a person is willing to pay the upcharge, let them put a 6.2 in a base model. I hate how they like to hide the most desired options behind the pay wall of packages that you may not even want. I am thinking the 3.0 Duramax is going to be a PERFECT engine in a people hauler like this.
PS... this is not the comment to which I was attempting to reply...
wlabishler 1 on the other hand ford/lincoln only have v6 turbo on the expedition and the navigator.
Wait no fog lights? Makes them all look like cheaper models even when they are the upgrade ones!! So they took the 1\2 ton truck and made everything look like it! WOW

@@ItsBlurrs Only problem is, many people would rather NOT have all this crap and just have affordable trucks again instead.

I like these! Good job Chevrolet.
the front end looks almost identical to the newer Silverados, but the rear.. um let’s just say they could’ve don’t WAY better.
