A most impressive display of card handling..

- Here is an encore trick that Doc Eason regularly performs at intimate house parties. This literally took more than a year to perfect. When this goes south, it goes south big time and there really isnt' any graceful way back. So getting this to a point where it worked more times than not, took some significant time. This shows much more about Doc than just the performance of a difficult trick.
I rarely comment on anybody's comments regarding a great magician's performance, but (so here it comes) isn't the point of a performing art such as magic to entertain and bewilder? How much more magic is there than that?
Very well done.
Impressive! I believe it took a long time to perfect. I was doing the first part in my head and following along, but then you showed all the other suits grouped together too, insane! It had a chance to derail at the begining when a couple of cards went flying, it just added to the "no way" ending :-) Thanks for sharing Doc!
Very impressive. I dabble in amateur magic mainly to show my daughter. Will show her this video tomorrow it will make her day. Many thanks
Amazing display of card mechanics and handling. Its aged well for being a decade old clip :)
Doc, Saw you in Balttimore many years ago @ your lecture. Have been a fan ever since. Love your work. I might even spend some time on this project myself. Now I have the time!
Very nice trick. The controls on the 3 courts was easy to spot. Your Faro shuffle is spot on. I guess I need to practice mine more lol
3:54 your left hand man come on
i honestly dont think that had anything to do with the trick dude lol. this can be done without any camera tricks trusttttttt me. theres prolly another object there he uses for a logo or overlay in his other videos. thats prolly another color sign or something that is keyed out in another color other than green. its called layering the green screen so you can do stuff in the editing portion.
there is an obvious jump cut and camera angle shift towards the end reveal.... i believe this is in there because doc botched the trick and didnt wanna spend the time to do it all over again with the explanation and patter and etc. so instead he just redid everything up till that point, angle change and jump cut, and then the eye remembers how the table last looked after the jump cut. clever, but kinda BS... but he said himself its difficult and doesnt work evert time so lol
it is a standard deck.. it has two jokers and an ad card.. 52 + 3= 55
but you threw one out what was that card?
well that threw out my only guess, that it was a (modified) stripper. with a standard deck, it's nearly impossible, and even with a stripper, it would be impressive, just on the basis of how quickly the packets were separated. you've earned your reputation sir.
The extra cards are needed to get the sum of 1 through 10 = 55. That way he had enough cards to build all ten stacks.
oop
3:57 - The moment a stranger was crawling under the table. LOL XD
think the whole thing is just trick photography?
Thats his left knee
No that’s his head it’s a green screen fuck up
lmao thats actually his head dude, just a crappy editing thing. i dont think that had anything to do with the trick, pretty sure the edit is only in there cause he messed up the trick lmao. this can be done in person and with a shuffled deck, or at least thats exactly how it would appear to you ;). the camera cuts and green screen is a big no no though... not sure why the hell he had camera cuts and stuff on a non live youtube video. kinda sus, but this effect could be done in real life without camera tricks.
well, the deck is shown face up to be fairly shuffled .. di d you miss that?
I'm flattered that you are devoting energy on this.. it's a trick.. a pretty good one, though, innit?
Not an easy one...even when you know, it takes some work ...and this was not a flawless performance.. but it seemed to fly pretty well. thanks for looking at it more than once..
Did anyone notice when he put down the 3 cards it was 4
hunh?
love it doc
+minecrafter619117 you were mislead :)
+Blackmaster yes, but watch is slowly, he missed the card and did not actually put it down, so he had to grab it again and then grab the last one.
love this and am glad that you turned me on to it long ago. Love the editing of this. But this is NOT a "little trick." It's a MIRACLE.
the editing is trash, you should never edit a magic video with cuts and changing the camera. i even hate when they do it on penn and teller fool us, its a cheap trick even if the magic is real and not a camera edit. its extremely suspect... but i know this trick can be done in person without video tricks. i think he might have actually fucked up the trick a little at some point so thats why you see the jump cut lmao. he says himself it was very difficult for him to learn, i think him saying that is part of the act though, the underlying trick is based on basic principles, but i can imagine it took him a long time to develop the trick into the effect he wanted the audience to experience. i dont believe the sleight of hand here was like OMG INSANE or anything like that, but he plays it up very well making it seem even more impossible. the editing sucked tho.
My guess as to how he does this is that he is a master card handler that has spent literally years learning how to feel and handle a deck of cards.
His ability to cut a specific number of cards is not an illusion - it's card mastery. But that is probably the easy part.
The hard part is mastering the ability to control a riffle shuffle. I think he uses a prepared deck that when shuffled a specific way always yields the same result. Once you master the ability to control the shuffle, the trick will always work. If my guess is accurate, it still is a tremendous card trick that requires far more skill than any sleight of hand I've seen.
But then again, like 99% of those commenting on this video, I'm not a magician. The closest attempt to sleight of hand I can see is the slip-up on the pile of 3. But all that is is sleight of sound that was caused by accident. If you watch closely, there are clearly only three cards there.
Nonetheless, it's a great trick performed by someone dedicated to his craft - a true Master.
Watch some Richard Turner to see true mastery in card handling. He just did a precise riffle which is kinda hard but it's the same every time
I did that trick way back when I was sloppy drunk, but I don t remember how. LOL, J/K.
Awesome show. Thanks.
3:12 RIP Headphone users
First time I have seen this one. Thankyou I will be learning this one. Very smooth great story.
The cards were prearranged THEN "shuffled". Then the guy looked at the bottom card of each "stack" before he placed them into stacks, thus putting the bottom card on top of the stack when he counted them. (Justin Credible taught a similar trick in Mag Rack ten years ago.)
NO one does this trick like the Master, Ricky Jay.
yes. That shuffle I did is a legitimate shuffle ... could have been done by any one. But there wasn't anyone around.
The shuffle is legitimate..the deck is not :-) here is a clue: the move after the shuffle at 1:04 puts all the cards in the right order :-)
@@CorporaMedicina nice eye you've got there. Grear false shuffle. Everything else is trivial. So the hardest trick in the world is a false shuffle?
@@CorporaMedicina how do you mean the deck is not legitimate?
Hey Doc, Great performance. Does this trick have a name? (aside from The Hardest trick In The World) And What is the origin? Thanks in advance! - Tommy
very impressive good sir. well done. it looks complicated to say the least but I love the patter and it's not often seen here on the UA-cams. subscribed 👍
Always a pleasure to watch you perform Doc. You'd make H. E. proud.
There were no switches.
Then you are a wizard :)
You missing the grab of the second card on the "3" stack had me thinking there were four cards, but closer inspection reveals it was three after all.
At first I had low expectations. But this was pretty great, good job
My guess is that the cards are already in the right order needed to have the final outcome, and that the shuffle is a false shuffle, all things stay in position. The ability is to “feel” the number of cards to put into the individual stacks. Just my guessing.
Wow is fun really fun to be fooled and mind blown after forty years of close up magic. This effect you just performed was even better than the close up magic you did in Las Vegas at Jeff McBride's Wonderground. Most impressive sir. Continued success to you Doc.
Richard Turner
Great routine Doc thanks for sharing! I enjoyed it! Amazing!
I love the fact you said "only a few people in the world took the time to learn this trick" I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and worked it backwards to get the trick figured out to show my family and they loved it. Thanks
Those card tricks drive me crazy and you're a handsome bugger.
2:40 He has 4 cards in stack 3.
He misdealt the second card. It did not go to the table
The sound effect are kinda stupid :P Impressive trick !
Great trick Doc ! I've been in magic for 50 years now and I am still blown away when I see a great trick so wonderfully done. FYI I've been a fan since before the bar magic tapes but was even a bigger one after! Okay enough accalades ! I would love to chat with you about a possible project . I've been looking into the slipp#$y sa@ gimmick. Here's the deal.... there's literally nothing out there on this cool gimmick. I tracked it back to the source.
His name is Steve Duscheck. I got his lecture notes from 1986 where he introduced the gimmick. He has one
Yes just one routine for it. So I'm thinking that if we ask Steve's permission we could probably get 5 or 6 routines easy....then offer it to the magic community as a paid download. What do you think?
Can't wait to hear your answer!!

Hi, The first thing I want to do is send you a huge hug and congratulate you on your excellent work.
The second thing I want is to ask you where I can get a rug with the dimensions like the one that appears in the video. Thank you in advance and thank you for a successful career
First of all, thank you for the kind words. Im glad that you are enjoying my stuff.

Pat is the best.. check out his pads ... sizes, colors, embroidary. tell him I sent you. you'll be pleased.
where are you located?
@@DocEason Thanks for the information Doc, I live now in Miami, I am originally from Spain
Doc, don't feel that you have to engage with the ignoramuses who think that because they know a little about something that they are adequate to judge. They also know how powerlifters bench 400 lbs (they move their arms up and down) but can they do it?
Brian Foley
I doubt he gives a fuck.
He’s being doing this a long time.
Doc really great trick, love your take on this plot ! And it makes me think, I still cannot find how you did this even though I know the basic method... Did you come up with a new stack of your own ?
Wow... That was AWESOME!!!
nicely done, great little routine.
That's a really good trick! I say trick, but that's more of a miracle. Love it
Fantastic effect.
Nice one, very much enjoyed the trick.
Wonderful Doc.
awesome trick doc
Excellent card handling skills. 👍
Watch when he counts the 3 stack, it's 4 cards
I also noticed that. It isn't it's in fact 3 cards. Look closely at the cards from his hand to the table. Look closely when the cards fall into the table. It's 3 cards
another thing....did we ask how it’s done? why don’t u just enjoy the art?
WOW YOU FOUNDOUT THE TRICK!!!! NOT.
A trick within the trick...at 1:25 Doc shows us the 4 of spades held between two clubs, so it is not on top or bottom of the 4 stack. Then while counting he reverses the stack order yet the 4 of spades gets to the top...well done.
Whoa! fantastic as a Extra, just one more thing.
what's that at 1:53 ? .... your left hand disappears behind a pixillated wall from the background
I thought I saw that!
The hand was accidently masked out with the Background. This is not hiding anything of the trick. This is just for showing the blurred background.
@@gsittly shennanigans
That is a legit shuffle.
The strip out at 1:06 wasn't though ;)
this is quite an impressive trick.
Do you have tutorial. Awesome card handling
Upon further inspection the deck is indeed not shuffled pause frame and look carefully all the suits are indeed in order this is an awesome trick though
When I look at the deck as you show it face up, I notice that it doesn't look all that shuffled, I can spot the suits in ascending order to be already in that order and fairly close to each other, like the clubs for instance, you have the ace, then 3 cards, then the 2, 3, card, 4, card, 5, 6, 4 cards, 7, 8, 9, 10, card, Jack, card, Queen, card King.
It is a stack of you pause the video at 0:55 you can see it but very impressive false shuffle at the start I did not pick up on that the first couple of times around and a smooth performance overall
Callum Dineeno if*
Hey Doc!
Nice card handling, very enjoyable! Subscribed.
Well it was shuffled but the un-shuffled by the cut you did. And that's why you into can shuffle the deck. Like stebbins stack order, your deck looks shuffled but it's actually prearranged. The only difficult move would be cutting precisely 2, 3, 4, ..., 9, 10 card packets and of course the precise shuffle
well im wondering why you had the "add" card in the deck if it meant you had to have 4 cards in the 3 card pile? i get its a trick... you have some serious skills ... KUDOS!... but why do you need the add card or the 55th card? couldnt this be done with a legitimate 54 card(52 +jokers) deck? or is it a "spacer" card? like in bowling its better to have a "pacer" bowler in the place of an absentee rather than have a lopsided throwing order? just curious.... you clearly have mastered handling cards... and btw i dont think your mishap on the 3rd to 4th pile was an accident... i get it... its a trick.. well done my fine sir!
Nice trick Doc. Now can you tell if Turner can really tell a card by feel. :D
Doc, this trick would look much more impressive if you took it with one continuous long shot. The fact that you keep switching angles, plans and even colors suggests that some manipulations take place between those changes. If you want to have a good impression - reshoot the video with one continuous shot.
yah well, warts and all... I assure you the edits are only for clarity but probably won't go back into the studio with this. I am frankly surprised that it has gotten as many views. They run the gamut.. amazing.
This is real conjuring! he makes it look soooo natural
Nicely done. It seems to me to be a clever variation on Ricky Jay's card manipulation.
Amazing
Awesome!
Nice illusion, but I'm left wondering what was blooped out on the upper right of frame?
Hi doc! really nice handling. I saw that on henry Evans a few years ago but I am not sure if it is actually his idea. Could you share in which book can I find it? Thanks!
mrjunmys pls contact me directly
It's funny how everyone is saying there was 4 cards in the 3 card stack as if they then know how the entire trick was done. There's only 3 and even if there was 4 for whatever reason it is still an extremely impressive trick. My only question is is that actually a legit shuffle and did he switch the deck or possibly reorder the deck after the shuffle. Even if I'm assuming it wasn't shuffled I still don't get it. Well done.
The last time you pull the deck apart into two halves, after shuffling, I think that you may have used a "stripper deck". Hence your joke about being fully clothed? In this way, although you shuffled, you place the deck back in the original preset order.
This is pure art :)
It's beautiful
Anyway to get the trick?
1:06 I see what you did there. Impressive nevertheless!
great presentation Doc... always kills me to see comments pointing out that you aren't a real wizard... lmao... We know there's no alchemy or dimension traveling going on so pointing out the obvious in an effort to appear intelligent only proves the opposite... Thanks for the video... Much success to you my friend.
The thing that's bugging me ... is that the ten stacks of cards total 55 cards... 🤔
I do this trick completely clothed. 😏
+Doc Eason
And we are very grateful for that
You sir, are AMAZING.
That's a deal-breaker.
You do it fully clothed...not stripped then?
I knew it as i saw the trick ✌ very good 🙃
VERY NICE VERY NICE, SMOOTH.
how did you only count 3 cards when there was 4 in the stack that was only suppose to contain 3.
+ghs224 stack three had three cards. I can however see why you think he had four. After putting down the first card, he doesnt put one down on the second move. So it was like first card, blank (or nothing), second and finally third.
No, there were 4 cards. When he turned up the 3 of spades there were still 3 cards face down.
02:40
Terry Lee
3:08. Looks like a 3 with two cards next to it.
Well caught.
first time i saw that the great Ricky Jay did it, totally amazing
If the spectator were to shuffle the cards would you still be able to perform this trick?
Entertaining ,i like it
Nice trick:) Really good.
I suppose if the initial spread out of the "shuffled" deck has too many sequential cards, (note the viewer will be allowed very little time to look at it), he could use more steps to give it scrambled appearance. Just keep reverse engineering it to the desired spread. Simple as that.
well ...could this trick be done with a regular brand new unopened deck of cards ? :-)
Yes if you take the time. :-)
i really enjoyed this trick, i love magic
It’s not magic. He’s just that good w the cards. Check out Richard turner.
You just made me face palm in real life, I'm sorry
Awesome trick. I just wanna say at 0:52 we see how the deck is indeed not shuffled. I'm sure you are good enough to do this with a spectators deck but it's much easier when it's your own and pre arranged. Once again...i do believe you are good enough do this with someone else's deck (I think).
The camera cuts multiple times. can you do the trick without camera cuts.?
Hmm don't wanna tip it too much, but the finale was good. And the one shuffle was legitimate. I'm guessing that could be the method. Though the pull could be something that happened too (btw. is one of these queens dancing ?) I hope that's cryptic enough xD (one is maybe too cryptic, but oh well, what can you do.
Daniel Podwysocki that is a legit shuffle.
very perceptive of you to recognize her dancing skills. She is dancing with a pole these days.
Wow, that's some real creative stuff you did. I would have never thought of it. Keep up doing great work :)
The deck was in a certain order for sure. It wasn't a shuffled deck. It was a 'seemingly' shuffled deck. No magician claims to have a shuffled deck and skips the shuffling part.
I like to do this trick. But only when stripped down to my shorts.
See this trick is a good one because the odds of me pulling this off myself without watching the Broadway show cats and paying attention to the title of the intro song are slim to none. Not only that but the odds are very much so stacked against me otherwise but once you accomplish this and get around said obstacles its almost as if the magic is done by itself.
I'm Trying my best with speaking in code without giving to much away like Penn and teller do on there show let me know if I got it. 😉
This is edited. Every change in camera perspective is an opportunity to switch the deck.
There is a blur out by his left, (our right) hand
10+9+etc+1 = 55 cards, so it's the full deck plus the two jokers and the sudoku card?
Is it just me or do you need a 55 card deck to make all ten piles??
2 jokers and an ad card.. =55.......
Love your magic😘
Well I enjoyed this, great work would love to be able to do this Regards matt
But the deck was stacked and then it was a bunch of basic card reveals whats the trick?
Sparkle from the Doctor! I love it. Hi Doc!
Nice trick but since there is only 52 cards in the deck and you stacked piles of 1 thru 10 then did the rest how many decks did you use?
He's got two jokers and the sudoku card, 55 cards.
Love to learn that !
Nice play on Ricky Jay's Card Manipulation
Check out the mirror (or person squatting under the desk ;) ) at 3:32-3:40. His arm gets cut off by the blurred "visual effects" at 3:56. But the trick was amazing none-the-less. :)
hunh? no person under the desk... or mirror.. or anything trick other than eyes popping effect.. it’s a move called the pop out move... for obvious reasons.. honest.
:) Cool.
...but while you're doing the pop out move there's a mirror effect going on under your left arm. Just sayin'. But again, the trick is "trick"!
*****
That looks more like a green screen problem.
Good point. Could be.
Looks like someone needs to do a little editing magic. ;D
So why were there 4 cards in the "three" stack?
it was just a bobble.. honest.. there were really only 3 cards in the '3' pile
Well it's true that if there were, the math wouldn't work. Also upon reexamination I can see how it looks like you may have missed the second card--slipped through your fingers as it were. I believe you. We'll just say that you'd been recently practicing a certain sleight of hand--one that makes it appear as though you're counting cards as you place them on the table, when in reality no cards are leaving your hand, resulting in a never ending deck. We'll say you'd been practicing that, and the "3" stack was just a "Freudian slip" of sorts. :)
I knew a David Warren, decades ago. Good school friend. E17 address, door no. 1.
My God is it really you?!?
I'm just kidding. Hahaha I'm only a little more than a few decades old mate, and Warren is my middle name ;)
If you can't catch it the first time, then its a good trick~! only because of youtube and some time could I figure it out~
