Wait Up was released in September 1986. It the first single from The Cockroaches debut album “The Cockroaches”. The film clip for Wait Up, written was shot in Sydney and tried to capture the youthful energy of the band. The clip hot wide exposure on national music shows such as Countdown and Sounds as well as a live performance on Countdown, which helped propel the trajectory of the band.
“Wait up" was followed by a number of other singles from the debut album such as “She’s the One" (John Field) “Some Kind of Girl” (John Field, Paul Field) and “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love” (Don Smith, Cyril Better)
"Wait Up" was produced by Charles Fisher at Trafalgar Studios in Leichhardt and mixed at Albert Studios.
