My goodness. I remember approaching the Coliseum years ago this song was buzzing in my head. Of course, it was fiction, but it spoke to the grandeur of Rome on many levels to me.
This is that kind of music you listen to and don't comment about it. If you like it you listen to it and if not you just don't listen. This is not about talent and money it's about art and there are some people who don't appreciate it.
that's very good ,of course pavarotti is something else , sorry to tell you guys but Pavarotti was a maestro ,remember he recorded this song when he was 68 years old in 2003, his voice was amazing till his last days of life.
This is the kind of stuff i want to be doing after high school. Gonzaga is where i want to go to college and they have a program like this but not as big.
How can any one compare any opera singer to a nother. Pavarotti was great yes. BUT so are these guys. They are young new and very creative in their own ways. Give them a chance for goodness sake!
Pavarotti was great! would have loved to hear him sing with David Phelps. i love mens voices in harmony, but you do have your favorites for certain songs. David Phelps owns O Holy Night as no other. but that's just my opinion and likes. never heard Pavarotti do this song. will have to look it up!

I saw them yesterday night in Baltimore and they are indeed very good. They have an amazing vocal blend. And people tenors come in ALL SHAPES AND SIZES so what's the deal of comparing them to Pavarotti?
Good performance. I don't know if they're brilliant singers when comparing to Pavarotti, but well, he was one of the bests. Together they sound very good and there's some interesting non-opera-like voices too. Listen Pavarotti's version also, it's brilliant!
Most of these guys from 2006 are no longer touring, including Steven Baker on piano. Hopefully you will like the new gang. ??Power?? guess we'll see. The CD version of this is good. :)
As much as I like Bocelli and the colour of his voice, he lacks quite a bit in the technique department. You may say Pavarotti was past his prime when he recorded Il Gladiatore, but to me, it's the best version out there.
I have heard both Pavarotti's version and the TTT. I have to say that they are equally as great. However, think about this, it takes TEN Tenors to match ONE Pavarotti.
Hmmm...10 seems a little overkill for this masterful solo piece. The soloist in the middle to the beginning-end was superior in tone, quality and delivery. I wish he had continued to finish out the piece instead of muddy those last beautiful phrases with 10. It was an excellent performance, but I would have made a couple of different decisions with the vocal roles.
schön interpretiert, aber Pavarotti ist the best! kein Vergleich! tut leid. Was Pavarotti singt, darf Niemand mehr versuchen zu singen. Bitte! Es geht nicht
Best version of this ever recorded is not Pavarotti, I'm sorry to say. His voice wasn't what it was when he recorded the song. And Russell Watson is mediocre at best like these guys. The best ever version is Andrea Bocelli. He's a class act.
to have a tenor voice doesnt make u a good singer serious this is a joke I dont care who likes them... this is a joke voices without power and beauty are they all tenors? yes... so what? we all have one type voice... right? this ppl are not very good, lack of thecnique ... big time on that... if I am making money singing and if I dont do a a great job... why not get a couch? Pavarotti one time said... a great singer is always an student

My goodness. I remember approaching the Coliseum years ago this song was buzzing in my head. Of course, it was fiction, but it spoke to the grandeur of Rome on many levels to me.
we can hear how good pavarotti is when his single voice outpowers 10 profesionnal and really good signers combined

Anyone still have the DVD? I would love to get a digital version

Powerful ending as befits this great song but so many voices make for a muddled sound. Pavarotti and Bocelli sing it the best for me.
Tonight they will be singing in the netherlands ..
And i´ll be there too :D

Check out the credits for the movie Gladiator (w/Russell Crowe). You might be able to pick out a name you can google. Good luck.
orchestral arrangement is outstanding!
2:18 - she's very good looking :)
Luciano was the only one who could perform this epic song!
When ten man can't do half of what one made, is because you're comparing them to a forever legend.
I have heard both Pavarotti's version and the TTT. I have to say that they are equally as great. However, think about this, it takes TEN Tenors to match ONE Pavarotti.
@karacseva . 2nd singer Adrian Phillips. Here's to the Heroes DVD is quite good.
listen to Russell Watson and see how its done boys!
1st guy is Liam McLachlan
the chubby guy with a beard's got pipes! @_@ still missing Pavarotti though...
no one can compare with Pavarotti.. :(
concurro
why don't you add the lyrics in the description? xD
there`s something forced in them pavarotti sang it with a heavenly lightness...
They can be called Tenor?
where are they?
Bocelli has no comparation
Get TTT Here's to the Heroes CD, that version is much better. You'll definitely hear David Kidd's tenor.
solo bocelli e pavarotti possono cantare questa canzone
i did not realize but they don't know the lyrics
Original before Bocelli sing at rome 2009?
Edit:Pavarotti

Alguien sabe que dicen los coros ?
-Coro ?
Morir perte
-Coro?
Il mio destino?
-Coro?
Roma.... per me ha deciso...
Good but Pavarotti was another things!!
haha! great comment!
I'm sorry but you need to sing this with your heart, leave it to Pavarotti and Bocelli!
@lmsundin
I found the video online
so I decided to listen to see what that was about
I didnt like
so I made a comment
NO POWER lol
@Coldfire75 and bocelli's too
they killed this song only 2 people can sing this and we know who they are
Good, but not enough power at the end for me

Superb! They are not as good as the great tenors, but they are pretty good.
in 4.23 to 4.26 someone sings like paul potts, borke his voice
@rushaholic Also it seems more like gregorian singers.
Russell Watson
Nice.
But Pavarotti owns this one.
Wonderful but PAVAROTTI's version still conveys more emotion
Nice harmony - but this one belongs to Pavarotti.
Oh god no, back to Pavarotti and bocelli ...
schön interpretiert, aber Pavarotti ist the best! kein Vergleich! tut leid. Was Pavarotti singt, darf Niemand mehr versuchen zu singen. Bitte! Es geht nicht
No offence, these guys are trying, but they can't even pronounce Italian right.
Nevertheless, a nice attempt.
@rushaholic nor 50

W i Gladiatori! Viva Roma
IT TAKES TEN TO MATCH PAVAROTTI
Nothing compared to Pavarottis version
Bocelli > The Ten Tenors
There are two good tenors, the rest is filler. It's what I think.
too much ingolatto
Go watch some miley cyrus and actually enjoy it then.
to have a tenor voice doesnt make u a good singer
serious
this is a joke
I dont care who likes them... this is a joke
voices without power and beauty
are they all tenors? yes... so what? we all have one type voice... right?
this ppl are not very good, lack of thecnique ... big time on that... if I am making money singing and if I dont do a a great job... why not get a couch?
Pavarotti one time said... a great singer is always an student
Fake
boo hoo
