He's good but sorry his Nessun Dorma sounded flat and not powerful enough, he is Popera not Opera and a 2nd rate Bocelli at that. Try out Jonathan Antoine for a former BGT contestant with a better voice for "Opera" although I think even he would struggle to make the grade trying to audition for a major role at The Met or La Scala.

INNOCENT is the BEST on the show hands down! I felt heartbroken he did not win the competition. However he is greater than that and belongs in the finest opera houses AND ALL the stages in the world. He makes opera accessible to everyone. I went from being impartial at best, to listening to him on repeat, many many repeats. I would watch him in concert or opera ANY day of the week.

Sometimes it can be better to not win. If he had won he would have to sit in Simon Cowell's pocket for the next 10 years or so and do whatever he thinks would give him (Simon) the biggest financial profit. Coming second means that very few (if any) of those restriction apply to Innocent and he will have much more freedom to to do whatever he himself wants to do.
It was in his favor not to win. He will be able to do what he wants with his career. Like Adam Lambert.

For the curious, this is the Italian version of the song Now You Are Free, called Nelle Tue Mani, with this specific arrangement originally sung by Andrea Boccelli (the group Miraclass also sung a very similar version). Meanwhile, hoping that this gets released on streaming platforms, as Innocent was just breathtaking.

My gosh! Now the world has opened up up a little bit more we can see how many talented people is out there, i have never been a fan to opera, i think it's obsolete entertainment but this guy makes it interesting at least for me, he has brought opera down to my understanding, i can explain it but it feels like suddenly that opera makes sense to me, and how can he control that vibrato and sustain notes for 10 seconds, and the song choice was very good as well, i was in another place watching this performance, if Opera concert makes me feel this way, i certainly will go to a concert opera in search of this kind of emotion, amazing!!

Cape Town has an excellent opera scene - mostly thanks to the UCT Opera Department. Unfortunately for us our opera singers are all so good that they end up in Europe. (Like Pretty Yende and Nombulelo Yende)

I'm an opera singer and I'm fascinated by Innocent. He's a very good, close to a perfect lyrical tenor. He reminds me of a young Di Stefano. This young man would wipe the floor with the modern Metropolitan singers. It's not even close.
I've never seen Simon studder the way he did. Was so impressed it blew his mind and took his words and articulation.
You should watch him speak after Tom Balls performances in 2022. Couldn't put a word together. Unfortunately the best don't always win.

I honestly did not have the strength to comment on this performance as I was too enthralled and overcome. "Now we are Free"...such a soaring orchestral arrangement, which you took and soared with it.
