And this one. Yes your observation is spot on. They were in the garden all the time and they'd get jammed into the soil. All the paint damage was from throwing them all into one big box unprotected, they'd get carried and moved around, clinking together as they went. At 7 I had no idea what a collectible was.
That body came up shiny before the paint, it would be interesting to see a model in bare metal with just a clear coat. The hard work spent cleaning that up really paid off.

I have been using flat black primer then chrome as a base.. then put the candy over the chrome.. it comes out with a very wet looking paint job as well...
I love these restorations. I am thinking a out trying this my self. I use to customize wrestling a rion figures in my 20's and sold quite a few when the internet was still kind of new. I retire from the fire service at 45 this year and I love the idea of transforming these old car from shabby to shinny. I will be doing so much research on this.

When u were adding primer i kinda thought, at 8:20, OMG that than would be killer in gun metal paint. When u look at it, at 10:40, in my opinion, the gold feels flavourless over that yellow glass. BUT the wheels look cool as hell and i actually need that very set for a Ford Escort RS1800. Maybe highlighting door gaps and such like the F40 would give it extra something?
This one actually looked like it was going to take more work than it did. The casting actually looked pretty deteriorated. Fantastic Resurrection. Another great job. Color looks great. Have a good evening.

This one turned out wonderful! I do like the gold color, but I think it could've looked stunning were it left polished with some clearcoat.
You need a small vacuum table to set the old glass on and reback Hume clear glass over it making new glass very cool and neat
