This is such a heartwarming story of a little car getting a 2nd life

A word of caution. I know what you were trying to do on the bottom, by cleaning a spot and then polishing it. But that corrosion residue is abrasive. If any of that got into your polishing buff, it would scratch while you were trying to polish.
The end result is stunning as always. The headlights on these cars are always difficult. The shape of them makes it hard to detail. You look at the car straight on and they look fine, then from a different angle they look wrong. Then when you correct it it looks weird straight on. Those are supposed to be polycarbonate covers with a conventional round sealed beam headlight behind them. I have seen people try to use a decal, but again it would look funky. I finally gave up trying, and would paint them black. I have seen some of these cars with black covers, race during the day only. The chrome looks interesting. Makes the car look futuristic.

And this one. Yes your observation is spot on. They were in the garden all the time and they'd get jammed into the soil. All the paint damage was from throwing them all into one big box unprotected, they'd get carried and moved around, clinking together as they went. At 7 I had no idea what a collectible was.
I feel like, this is by far your best work.
I would have put money down, that you wouldn't be able to save that windshield.

I would not have given that car a second look when you started. It looks terrific now.
What an amazing transformation, from a scraper to concours... as Ferdinand Porsche apparently said: " I couldn't find the sports car of my dreams, so I built it myself."
That body came up shiny before the paint, it would be interesting to see a model in bare metal with just a clear coat. The hard work spent cleaning that up really paid off.
