    I tried out this guitar about a year ago and I was very impressed by the beautiful balanced tone and easy playability. Its not flashy or gorgeous. But it does sound fantastic and is a real pleasure to play. Despite the dozen very fine guitars I already own... this model from Alvarez is still on my radar.

    Granted I haven't heard every guitar demo out there, this has to be the BEST guitar sound and playing I have ever witnessed. Thanks so much! (Pretty sure I've settled on getting this guitar.)

    I just played one of these in a guitar center, and while the humidifiers were so loud I could barely hear, it resonated so well. Plugged in was amazing too. Outplayed the martins and Taylor's they had hanging in there by far. Wish the pickguard we're different.

    Everytime I watch this vid I wonder if it's the same guitar I bought from the Acoustic Centre. Fantastic guitars which will become known as one of the best players in this type of guitar. The demo shows it's so much more than just a flat picker (not that it isn't exceptional at bluegrass also!)

    Soft picked or finger picked this model sounds great. Strummed firmly...not so great. But I do like this model a lot for James Taylor type music. Just spent a good hour with one of these today,
    at my local GC. Very playable. Good low end response and clarity. Not as boomy as a Martin dread...and not as bright as a Taylor. This one falls somewhere in-between. Its has a nice balance overall, and the neck shape is very comfortable. It really sounds best played exactly like in this video....Gently.
    The excellent audio quality in this video does capture this guitar's tone accurately. And Im sure this video has also helped to sell many of these guitars. Nice job.

      @@tgf5652 Happened to read you comment,and wanted to say, they are definitely as good sonically as Taylor in my opinion. I have a Taylor 310 and 810, both from the 90's. The 810 is amazing and beautiful, but the 310 has been my favorite sounding guitar I owned for over 15 years. The Alverez to me, is better. I don't own the dreadnaught YET. I played the OM masterworks and baught it. It's my favorite sounding guitar I have ever played, or owned. All for $800 and "made in china". I would say I just got lucky, but I played the drednaught the same day, and it was just as good. I'm saving for the Yairi masterworks all Mahogany now. It isn't cheap at $2500. It will be the first guitar I ever purchased without playing it. I'm that confident in the brand now.

      Yes it's a weapon. You can play it with a light pick and 12 53 gauge strings and it is loud and full of clear tone. It doesn't sound exactly like a Martin but that's a good thing.

      Glad to hear! I recently picked of these up, and although it sounded great, the action felt too high for me to get full enjoyment out of it. Waiting to get it back from my local shop after having action lowered quite a bit and a bit of relief added to the neck & restrung with new coated 12's. Hoping it sounds just as nice but plays even better 🤞

    Alvarez = Awesome. I have 2 of them. I have the 1978 Dove model 5024 and the Artist Series AG610ECEARSHB. I recently bought the later of the 2 (610) from Guitar Center while it was on sale from $579.00 to $419.00. I have to say, Alvarez makes one hell of a good guitar. I have other acoustics that I play but my favorite, well its not my Martin, its the 610 Artist. They produce guitars that play and sound way above their price point. If I had to make a comparison, I would have to say that the 610 is the Taylor 214ce equal (cost $899.00). Absolutely amazing! Money very well spent. The lifetime warranty is nice to have as well :)

    • @joemonroe1106
      @joemonroe1106 2 роки тому

      Taylor 214ce is close to $1,200 one...and the 214DLX is $1,600.
      They've gone crazy with their prices at Taylor. Not worth it to me.
      Alvarez does it right.

    I just bought this guitar and I love the sound. The tuners are tiny little pieces of crap (open tuners). It's got a one piece back...kinda dull. The binding on the fret board is cheap and the fret board is like a thin laminated thing. The bridge is just ugly. I don't know how they got this kind of sound out this thing but damn it, they did. I hate chinese guitars but I have one.

    • @jmdbb
      @jmdbb 3 роки тому +1

      It's not a 1 piece back. No one builds with 1 piece backs. There's a thin strip of contrasting wood on the back if you look closely. I agree about the ugly bridge and it has an ugly pickguard. But I'll be damned if it doesn't sound great. And I own guitars worth up to $4000, and while the Alvarez isn't quite that good, it isn't far. It's a lot closer than any pacrim guitar I've ever owned or played and I've had many many Eastmans.

      Dennis Sheridan he uses a flatpick, and plays a beautiful and melodic song to show how responsive and resonant the guitar is. Just because he isn’t ripping a fiddle tune doesn’t mean he’s in the wrong.

      I tried an Alvarez dread today against 4 different Martins and a Maton, the Alvarez sounded and played the best.....it spoke to me, it was about a grand, the Maton was pretty damn good too but more than double the price, the martins varied from double to triple the price and played nicely but sounded dead in comparison.
