Her father was "Dutch" Haaland, a military man and she grew up on several bases all over the place. She is a military brat. Even when he left the military and the family settled down, the settled in a big Urban town, not some tribal village or on a rez or similar.
She wears her mothers heritage like a bad costume. Thats why she speaks like something out of a poorly acted old western depiction of an "Injun" rather than as someone who grew up primarily around typical American kids, and why she just wears random "native" looking jewelry. She has no attachment to the history, to the culture, and more importantly to the people. Its just a costume she wears for political benifit, and now she is just a DEI figurehead with no real responsibility as the underlings do all of the actual work.

It might be difficult for THIS administration to find someone more qualified to serve in her position, given this administration's difficulty accomplishing ANYTHING worthy of the American people, but with another administration, let's say a Trump administration, it should not be difficult at all to find someone who is capable of filling her position. I don't mean to be critical, but someone has to say something: She seems -- from what I have seen and heard from her -- barely capable of performing a volunteer county position, much less a federal Cabinet position like Secretary of the Interior. Extremely...lightweight.
When person is asked to appear before Congress shouldn't they be prepared? For me, I would bring all the information, stacks of it, and two assistants who have organized it, so I could answer the question, to be ready. If a person stonewalls Congress while being questioned shouldn't they be arrested for lack of being prepared and be charged with contempt--RIGHT THEN? Because to me, no consequence is inaction, and inaction shows powerlessness...it's makes congress look like a joke.

It would have taken some one with a 7th grade reading level (circa 1970's) to read a one page letter in 20 sec and have some understanding, but Haaland most likely has a kidergarten reading comprehension from 2020's and requires someone to help with the big words *Natural Land Resources* which is why she has to wait till she gets to her office.

Well, it does not bar private investment in the Fossil Fuel industry or a cooperation between Private Investment and Public Land Ownership Rights in how the revenue from the extraction and sale of the fossil fuels will be disbursed.
In fact Norway, which is a Constitutional Monarchy, with a history of a Royal Family, but an elected Representational Government, has established the world's largest Sovereign Wealth fund by total dollars invested. And that's pretty awesome.
And what is even more awesome?
The value of that Sovereign Wealth fund is 1.62 Trillion dollars.
The population of Norway is 5 million 474 thousand and 360 people.
Now let's do some math:
What is 1.62 Trillion dollars divided by 5,474,360?

What is the National Debt of Norway?
The Norwegian Government Debt to GDP ration is 44.3%
