I could definitely see them doing a "showdown" set that includes the laser gate section with the Super Commandos, the hangar with Gideon, and the room with the Praetorians.
@D.M.T.P. Nah, there's plenty of play features with raising/lowering the laser gates, knocking super commandos off, a couple of those spinning "dueling" stands, and maybe some destructible elements. They're not going to want to put all the minifigs that kids will want in an 18+ set.
I think some of the best ways to see what lego had to work with would probably be the concept art that shows with the credits. For example, the finale shows rebels mandalorian commandos, which means they likely hadn’t finalized the design until a while later. It also shows a battle with all the ships
The ties and Mando fighters didn't battle in the cloud because it messes with scanners. They had no idea they were passing. However, like another commenter said, at the end, the concept art did show a battle. So I think it was meant to be in the episode
Actually, around 25:30 in the episode "The pirate" there is a pirate who wears yellow clothes, but he doesn't wear a helmet and is fighting on the ground, so maybe lego just decided to base the pilot off this guy.
8:25 I think they didn't meet because of going at the same time in/out of the cloud layer, which apparently blocked all transmissions? Interesting (and quite expected) video, I'm wondering how other toy/collectible companies handle the accuracy?
At the end of episode 8 when they show the concept art in the credits there was scenes of a huge dogfight in space of the fang fighter and tie intercepter which is what the set was based off of
We need a Praetorian guard remake set, 3 new Praetorian guards and one imperial commando. Similar to the last Jedi battle pack with 3 Praetorians and a standard first order trooper.
Give us just a remant battlepack in general with a Stormtrooper, Death Trooper, Imperial Beskar trooper, and a Praetorian. God tier battlepack there, though they're almost certainly too cheap to make one with 4 different minifigs.
Fleet commander looks really like a commander. Riding along the goblets looks amazing. Those two ships are great. I like that lego white and gray ship you have on your hand.

Guess I’m going back may 1st
I think its possible they could be separate Fang models. Maybe different generations, with one generation spinning while the other is static. But even if they are in the same generation its possible to have that much variation within a single generation. The F-35 has at least 3 models used by the US military, all being different. The AF flies a very basic version of the jet, which doesn't have anything fancy (comparable to the static design we see in The Mandalorian). Meanwhile, the Navy's variant comes equipped with VTOL, and the Marines IIRC is just straight up a larger aircraft than either the AF or Navy's.
I think this is the case. Outside of the wing spinning, this model seems a little smaller and has different thruster and weapon arrangements than the Rebels kind.
8:32 remember that scanners don’t work inside the cloud layer and visibility is down to not being able to see your hand in front of your face it’s actually surprising they didn’t run right into each other in a headon crash as you would only know there is a ship in your way when you get close enough to be sitting in the other pilots lap. I have to say I was expecting this to happen, I was expecting for one of the ships to run smack into an SD or SSD hiding in the cloud cover or for a star destroyer to be sitting waiting when you came out of the cloud over.
Disney not giving lego enough inside info on what they are gonna make sets out of is litterally them shooting themselves in the foot. Lego is making models of the things you creat and have partnership with them and making inaccurate bad sets isn't gonna sell and make Disney or lego money at all
I wish Lego didn't jump the gun when designing and releasing sets, all the sets this year have been mediocre when compared to the actual source material, which hey was mediocre in of itself
Lego designs and produces these sets nearly a year in advance. If they waited to make sure the sets were accurate, then that would mean they wouldn't release until around a year after the show had come out, which is not smart from a selling perspective.
we saw the concept art for episodes during the credits and it absolutely shown a battle between fangs and interceptors so lego did the best they could with what they had set-wise (not minifigure-wise). I also suspect Moff Gideon figure was out of the picture, his plot/plan being shoved at the 11th hour tells me he was a very late addition to the show and lego probably was already in the final stages of their set development. but yeah, jetpacktrooper would be much better than the droid
I absolutely love the Fang Fighter Vs. Tie Interceptor. It might not be the best for figs, but I am ok with them. I just wish that in the show we saw an epic space battle. I was really expecting Axe to fly out if the clouds into a huge skirmish.

such a lame year for mando sets.. If disney had given better info we could've had so many nicer sets. ex. the mossy green guy with a snub fighter would be a perfect fit with the N-1 or bo katans ship in that battle scene. Only good one would've been that spider droid but they should've added that grevious droid character and fit him into the machine and had that stake like you mentioned. and a 3rd set which would've been incredible is moff gidian, 2x of the new storm troopers and either mando and/or bo-katan in that final fight scene would've been incredible. that or even the red guys with the sticks and grogu+moff gidan and mando in the area where grogu was jumping around would've been a perfect set/diorama style.
The Spider Tank set does not show the box art on the website and it appears to be the only future Star Wars set on the site that does not show the box art. I think there is a possibility that they are working on changing the set to include the cyborg pilot. I would not expect them to add a cage for Mando though.

I think since lego just made the LEGO Mandalorian Starfighter just a year prior I think its cool they gave us the fang fighter ship instead of another Starfighter with with set. I think it would have just been kinda lame to get two of the same ship back to back. Unless of course, you didn't have the Starfighter but from Legos perspective, I see why they gave us two different ships.
Two missed inaccuracies I noticed: The TIE Interceptor in the show also can fold its wings. The color of the engine thrust of the Fang fighter should be orange instead of blue. It is also very likely that the correct color for the spring loaded shooter ammunition for the Fang fighter should have been yellow considering that their shots were yellow in Rebels like most Mandalorian firearms. Of course this is technically no inaccuracy since the Fang fighter did not shoot any shots in Mando but still it would have been nice if Lego paid attention on such details. Figure selection for this set is really lacking, Lego is lucky in my case that I am an imperial fan boy who just needs this TIE Interceptor in his TIE collection no matter what.
I'd love to know if there is a better mini-fig scale version of the Gauntlet Starfighter. In particular, the ability to house 8 drop troops. IIRC the pilot area include room for two-seat side-by-side as well (could be wrong on that).
I would a + 1 the TIE Bomber, as it plays an important part of the season 3 story line. I know it comes with Vader and such and not Mando themed set but the timing fits quite well with the show too. And is there any other SW stuff that come out recently that justifies the presence of it? Or maybe I missed something.

Tried to buy the snub fighter 3 days ago at Walmart and got to the shelf with it and they blocked the purchase of it. So I'm like why is this on your shelves if it can't be sold? I just wasted my time waiting for somebody to unlock the case to get that out and waited in line here.
I don‘t think they would‘ve been able to bring in the new Darktroopers to the Fang Fighter Set, because it counted as a spoiler and could‘ve been leaked right before the episode dropped.
I see a lot of people saying they wish the set would've included axe instead of the fleet commander... but wouldn't that be inaccurate then? he had the whole ship and flew it into the base/ forge, so it wouldn't make sense for them to substitute him
The Mandalorian Starfighters (Kom'rk-class fighter/transport) rotate, as seen when you see a number of them throughout the series in a landed position. They did in Clone Wars too. The Fang Fighters (Fang-class starfighter/Mk IV Fang) didn't appear to do this in the show and appear a lot smaller that the Starfighters. I was confused as all I've been watching is your reviews and thought the Fang Fighter was lazy made Starfighter. But when I saw the episodes, I notice the Mandalorian Starfighters were accompanied by 2 smaller similar looking ships. These smaller ships were the Fang Fighters.
What would you grade the Season 3 sets on accuracy?

Only way we get the new Moff Gideon and/or the new stormtrooper is if we get lucky and they’re in Ahsoka.
The n1 microfighter is the biggest LEGO L ever, Who would buy that for $16?
I don‘t think they would‘ve been able to bring in the new Darktroopers to the Fang Fighter Set, because it counted as a spoiler and could‘ve been leaked right before the episode dropped.
I think Lego should release a new mandalorian battle pack, but this time with the Blue armor where bo-katan is the leader of, and face printing
I see a lot of people saying they wish the set would've included axe instead of the fleet commander... but wouldn't that be inaccurate then? he had the whole ship and flew it into the base/ forge, so it wouldn't make sense for them to substitute him
Also the fleet commander was in the cruiser not in the fang fighter. That is a L for me. Am I right?
is the mandolorian in micro fighter set has different printing than the Tie intercepter set?😮
Did the Fang fighter Tie Interceptor set come out yet?
The tie interceptor vs fang fighter is an amazing set. Just disappointed there wasn't any actual clips of this dog fight happening
