Brett and Violet walk into the firehouse and sees Casey. Brett and Casey hug and ask how each other. When Casey turns around to start talking to Herrmann about Cindy, Brett takes her cue to leave. Casey watches her walk away.

I love how you can actually see the second he sees Sylvie that she's the real reason he came.
And honestly, I think given Sylvie's coping mechanism of avoidance it makes a lot of sense that Matt didn't call her to tell her he was coming, no matter how short of a notice it would have been.
And given the look on his face when he sees Sylvie leaving the common room, he knows that it's exactly what she's trying to do then, avoid him.
He knows her, the good and the bad, and still loves her.
And I'm glad that Sylvie didn't let her frustration, hurt, and the misdirected twinge of anger she was feeling out on him.
Because well, she was the one who broke up with him and by the sounds of her conversation with Violet it was also her idea to stop communications, even if he agreed, since she said that *she* thought it would create some distance.
And of course then there's the real reason his unannounced visit effected her so much, which was that she hadn't been over him, and that's definitely not something she can get mad at him for.
On some level she knows that it's really herself she's really mad at, not Matt.

Have Casey back is like have the 51 heart once again now we need Severide back
Yeah, I really wish Casey would come back and Brett wasn't leaving. But for me, with Kara's exit, we're going to loose both character's now. Thankfully, it's been announced that Severide will be back next season. I really wish Casey would come back though, the show hasn't been the same since he left. And I don't know how I'm going to watch without Brett now, they were my favourite characters.
Is it me or when Sylvie sees Matt, does the Brettsey theme play?
