Casey goes over to Brett as she's sorting out the Ambo. They start talking and Brett tells Casey that she's saying someone. Casey tells her that he's also seeing someone. Casey tells her that he's staying until Cindy's party and asks to meet up at Molly's after shift because he'd love to catch up. She tells him that she has plans but she might be there later. Casey tells her that he'll be there all night.

Every time I watch this scene and he goes "that's great" with that expression on his face, I'm like, tell that to your face. 😂
Poor Sylvie was in way over her head with his unannounced visit just pushing her off her denial island without warning.
Though then again not so poor since it was of her own making.

Yeah. I like that in this episode we get it more from his perspective because 11x01 was from hers, so getting to see that he's still in love with her and didn't want to break up makes it so much better to me, because without this, it seemed as though he also gave up the relationship with them not communicating like they used to but this thankfully turns out to be the opposite. Although, as much as I hated the 11x01 break up, I do still see it from Brett's perspective as well because she obviously finds the long distance too hard and as much as Casey makes her happy, the long distance wasn't so it was kinda better for her to end it for herself. She never stopped loving him, and he never stopped loving her, as Brett said at that point their stars just weren't aligning. I mean Jesse even said something similar as well when talking about it:
Jesse: "They ended their relationship ‘cause they didn’t wanna do long distance. They didn’t split because they fell out of love. I think they do hold a lot of love for each other. If it was possible in the future, Casey definitely thinks that it would work. But all the ducks have to line up in a row."
I just hope that after 11x22, it finally means that their stars have aligned and the ducks line up in a row

And yeah, I always understood why Brett broke it off and why long distance was too hard for her. As much as I hated the break up too, it made sense from her perspective.
And it made sense for Matt to go along with it even if, as we now know was the case, he didn't feel the same way about it. Because he's Matt.
