Midway Arcade is my favourite collection for the Xbox 360 and PS3. I wish they would re-release that. Also Stern arcade games would be great. Thanks John, this looks great and I will be picking it up.
I used to fight a lot as a kid. My best friend sometimes still tells the story of seeing me go for a flying headbutt 30 years ago and landing it. I think I'll be getting this for Solitary Fighter. I've been waiting a long time for this game on home consoles. He'll never see it coming, and I can't wait to get his reaction.
Growing up I played a Gun Frontier machine, it was beside a Raiden one at my local arcade. Will likely grab this collection just to replay Gun Frontier and The Legend of Kage.
Weeeeeelll, in that case you might be interested in knowing that together with NatsumeAtari we will release the 16bit remake of Shadow of the Ninja later next year 🥷🥷
in college my roommates and i played Darius Twins on the SNES and called it "Space Fish." the names to the bosses of all the games still crack me up to this day. "Hyper Great-Thing" "DualShears SP" "Fatty Glutton" "Neon Light Illusion" "Risk Storage" "Accordion Hazard" etc.
wild western, elevator action and ninja warriors. those are the only games i'd play on this compilation. the best compilation i ever saw was years ago. on old original xbox and ps2. capcom classics collection, volumes 1 and 2. they were the most packed compilations, even compared to today. we have capcom arcade stadium now days, 1 and 2, imagine those as disc compilations back then but with even more games.
Kiki Kaikai and Pocky and Rocky are one and the same, the SNES games were sequels to the arcade game. Rocky, aka Manuke, was the bad guy at the end of the arcade game, and once reformed of being a bad guy, he joined Sayo-chan's charge to defeat evil yokai. Funny you mention the FDS version of Kiki Kaikai, but fail to mention the arcade game was ported to the PC Engine, and is far more faithful to the arcade game than the FDS version. Darius II was a 2 screen game, the original Darius is the 3 screen game. Liquid Kids was never on the SNES, it's ports were to the PC Engine, and an arcade perfect port to the Sega Saturn.
Liquid Kid was on pc engine and there was an unreleased port for the amiga. Helas not super nintendo or super famicom port was ever made. No blast processing port either!
I like how much Game companies would put out multiple copies of their classic collection when most People rather not play them. Usually, People would pick em up just to say, "I have that game". We need to bring back old school events run by the game companies that the games came from like how the NES bring back the Nintendo championship which instead have 20 random people enter, they have a few random people and the rest is just youtubers (why?). I know this is just a negative post. I agree. I'm just saying that I wish game companies would bring this style back in their future games. Like go back to the past and make more 4 to 8 bit games. Sad that the old Atari games don't have that same number of fans that it once did. Which I'm sure someone would say "they always bring them back. shut up". I seen many people who own a switch who gotten those old school games subscription to only to browse them like netflix and just quit to go play Mario kart or something. It's not about how good that game is on the PS5, its about how much fun you would have. If they would make more of these, I'm sure many newer people would go and be fans of the old school games like that cheap Atari plug and play you see at Dollar General.
I’ve been so pumped for this one. Taito Milestones 1 was a letdown because the games were so ancient. But Darius 2, Liquid Kids, Gun Frontier, Metal Black??? Yes please!
Violence Fight and Dino Rex for me. Imagine if Lick Joe and Barney teamed up... afraid we're far away from a Little Samson though. Arcade collections seem to be easier for them to do, maybe because the arcade game makers often made the arcade hardware so if they emulate these games they don't have to pay licenses to the hardware owner to emulate the hardware. But a game like Samson that runs on NES, they'll either have to recreate to completely own the new version, or pay a license. So they'll probably release it as a single release, to get more money to compensate for the split earnings.
Taito Milestones Vol 1 is only good if you played and enjoyed the games featured on it. Personally I was gonna buy it (it was on sale in Amazon MX) but I realized that I wouldn't even touch it Vol.2 is a much better compilation IMO. It has more appealing games. Yes, including that silly dinosaurs fighting game.
While it does hit the nostalgia button it's one that I'll sadly pass on at this time. I already have Taito Legends 1&2 for my PS2 console with a ton of classic Tatio games unfortunately the ones on this newest collection aren't really doing it for me. If it goes for $30-$20 then I'll probably get the collection but until then I just turn on my PS2 and play these games that way.
The Taito Milestones collections is a pure cash grab. The games that were in the arcades in the 80's they were mostly overlooked or played only if the more popular games were being played.

Man i love The New Zeland Story. Finally the arcade version portable. I mean legally😈. Buying it ASAP
Could you still land one tho? 🤔
I LOVED the new Zealand story back in the 80s on my spectrum 128k +2
Dino Rex is a wreck. But Solitary Fighter? Gotta love it for the BOGON!
Score a Point Over!
Can we get a review of “The Making of Karateka”? That would be awesome!
Some great games here. Liquid kids was on Saturn and PC Engine only not SNES. Amazing game.
Barney primal rage looks great
Nice! I'll definitely get this one when it goes to $20 just like the first collection did.
So solitary fighter is also known as violence fight. Its on taito legends 2
Taito great times in the 80s 90s
"New Zealand Story" is everything but a "hidden gem". ;)
Last game, Barney used to be a savage.
This is definitely a collection I'll get when it goes on a serious sale. Cool that they are doin them.
Man i love The New Zeland Story. Finally a worthy,
Great selection of games just missing Rainbow Islands, Bronze Adventure, Elevator Action Returns, Night Striker and Bubble Symphony.
*takes notes*
Why does the firefighter look like he's there to steal my hamburger?

This is a GREAT compilation. Been playing the hell out of it!
I do love arcade games 😊

didn’t even know taito classics had a second vol. def will be picking this up.
fun as always thanks John
They should've put Elevator Action Returns in this one. That was one of my favorite games in the arcades back then!
dont worry i get liquid kids on the daily.

Great compilation with really playable games
we're very happy to hear this! 💖

I just saw a thread that announced there will be a taito milestones 3 coming out next year
Some great shmups here! This is a situation like Taito Legends 1 & 2, where most of the rare/better games are on the second volume.
Did you pick up Nuclear Blaze, John?
Fun game. i enjoyed it.
Lol I think of the Nerd going "Lick Joe?!?!"

this looks rad
The dinosaur one looks like 80s dinosaur erasers
Thaf looks kinda rad.
I am hoping that the “new” read dead is cheap this holiday
I’d glady pay 30
Pocky and Rocky is the sequel to KiKi KaiKai.
I wonder why they won't port the original rainbow islands anymore? Does anyone know why?
GAME OVER..........
INSERT COIN...............
I wanty Bible game u once could buy in a Christian book store on switch❤that u once covered❤

I'll stick with Taito Legends on PS2. 30 or so games on each collection
Man, I miss burger chef
"It's going to stretch it thin and narrow." THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! 😄
Maybe Dinorex inspired Primal Rage
Can we get Zookeeper?
I was hoping Cadash would be on here, I don’t think we’re ever getting an arcade perfect port.
If you have an AT Games Legends Gamer Mini you already had 7 of the 10 titles reviewed here :)
The next Taito compilation should have Rastan.
😏 *notes down
Yeah $40 is too much though.
❤❤❤💖💖💖💖amazing 👍🍉🤣
Legend of "kaw-ghey" ? Isn't it pronounced legend of "cage"?.
It’s a Japanese word, think kage in Naruto.

None of that looked good. Pass!
Don’t support these overpriced under featured rip off compilations.
This video does now have not enough of Lick Joe.
