- In October 2022, my dad and I embarked on a month-long journey delving into our ancestral roots, immersing ourselves in the rich culture of southeastern Turkey. Our exploration took us through vibrant cities like Istanbul, Antalya, Bingol, , Diyarbakir, Mardin, and numerous other towns and villages, each leaving a warmth in my heart, even if not captured on film. From organizing fundraisers for medications for dog kennels and visiting sacred tombs in Yayledere and Diyarbakir, we found ourselves be immersed in spiritual meditation rooms, and our experiences were varied and super meanngful.
This video, shared a year and a half later, serves as a belated birthday tribute to my beloved baba (dad), and to my cherished Auntie Aryawhom adores her hometown and a tribute to my grandfather, who though still with us at 94, grapples with memory loss. It is my hope that viewers gain something meaningful from this footage-a compilation of purposeful memories that underscore themes of accessibility, cultural understanding, and introspection.
Throughout, I touch on poignant topics, prompting reflection on gratitude and blessings. From showcasing enduring aspects of life, including hardships, educational disparities, privileges, and harmonious coexistence with nature, to raising thought-provoking questions, this video aims to spark dialogue and introspection, as well as nudge you into a deep dive into self awareness.

Waiting I’m sorry I know that what we have affects people differently but given that we have the same thing and the same percentage of vision why can’t u function independently, don’t you have the dark glasses (not regular son glasses) that allow you to go outside, I mean without them I can’t go outside, most certainly couldn’t have an independent life
I think you'll find by looking at my videos, that I am a very independent person despite the fact I have little vision.
I didn’t mean to offend you or anything, it’s just that u said at the beginning of the video that “going out to unfamiliar places can be a challenge and so you went with your dad” that’s what had me worried cause I don’t feel that at all, if there’s something I can’t see but I need to see like bus information on a bored I just take a photo
I can’t see bus information, so I have to ask the public, even when I take a photo on my phone. I go out most places on my own in England, with my cane, and by relying on passenger assistance and the public, as well as anyone else I am with. My partner helps me navigate when I can’t see, I wouldn’t be able to go out on my own in the dark. By the way, Rod come dystrophy is a set of symptoms rather than an actual name of a conditions. How it affects you will be different to how it affects me as these set of symptoms / each condition is so unique to each individual. My ophatmologidt last said to me that they know of 115 different variants of Rod cone dystrophies and there isn’t enough research going into this to determine what condition we actually have, because it’s such a rare condition. Hope that makes sense! Main message is, please don’t assume that someone else with a similar or the same condition or set of symptoms as you experience slide exactly as you do. This isn’t the case with any condition. Although there may be some similarities, people navigate and think differently and it’s all entirely unique. Same with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and so on..
I see, I’m sorry
I only started to research it yesterday and I was talking from a place of little to no knowledge thank you for your channel and reply’s they’re helping understand things much better
@@alexandre5236thank you for your comment, and understanding! I’m glad my videos and comments are helping you understand it all a bit better! It can be a hard thing to research as there isn’t much online about this condition/ symptoms of Rod Cone Dystrophy 👁️
