Wow, first Link turned out to be the Dragonborn and had to hunt dragons, and now he's apparently enjoyed himself so much that he's given up on saving Zelda to become a full time monster hunter
Other Nintendo characters might not be as fitting for these kind of games. Imagine Mario jumping around Tamriel while hundreds of dragons are trying to burn him to death. And as much as I’d like to see Samus (not Other M Samus though), she’s to futuristic to get into these kind of games.

Also there will be other Nintendo and anime themed stuff most likely, like Fire emblem, Mario(palico), and Fairy Tail stuff (palico), like in Generations
Zero Suit Samus and Samus ARE in the previous game btw, the special weapon being the blaster as a (light or heavy I dont remember) bowgun. I am possitive Metroid DLC will be in this next one also.

The content that MHW started with, was just too low. It started with 18 monsters, MHGU has all of them.

the mario kart x BotW thing wasn't dlc, it was a software update. if you read the news on the switch it said free software update, there wouldn't be free dlc or it would just be in the game straight away

This is an old game and they using Zelda to boost sales. Monster Hunter World is a way better game.
+8BitGamer4life for me MHGU will end being the better one, mostly bc it handles endgame and social aspects better (even if multi is more streamlined for the better in MHW) and more armor/weps are useful.
FirPtl MH Worlds is still getting updates regularly and more content. This is already been out for over 4 years and still looks like a PS3 game.

It pretty fun to play, especially with a group of friends.
You can pick up mh generations for the 3DS if you want to get a little head start/test run since your progress will be transferrable.

Might not be a good version to start in MH, it is easily the deepest one, for all the styles, big monsters, and palico mode. But as a MH fan, this could be the best, maybe just behind MH4U.
Give it a try, once you learn the basics, you're in.

Yes, but don't expect to know anything about the main games (3 ultimate, 4 ultimate, generations, generations ultimate, and world) by playing stories. They are extremely different.
So this year is breath of the Wild year all over again. Taiko no tatsujin, Mario kart 8 DX, MHGU and smash are paying tribute to the greatest game of all time. Praise be the Legend.

This really excites me for 2 reasons.
1. I freaking love BOTW and seeing it in this game makes me incredibly happy
2. If they give this game the same kind of support that they give World, then can we expect other Nintendo franchises to get gear and equipment in this game? For example Xenoblade, Fire Emblem or maybe even Metroid. The possibilities are endless! (I think I might actually cry if you can get the Aegis from XC2)

Champion Link has pretty much surpassed Twilight Link in terms of being the most iconic version of the character in the series.
He's featured in Smash, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Skyrim and now Monster Hunter, all within the span of a year since Breath of the Wild's release!
He even crossed over with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for a DLC side quest IN HIS OWN GAME.
