- In the latest rhythmic action-adventure from Brace Yourself Games, you can enjoy the gameplay of Crypt of the Necrodancer in the setting of The Legend of Zelda series. As Link-or even as Princess Zelda-you’ll explore the randomly generated overworld and dungeons on a quest to save Hyrule. Every beat of each remixed, The Legend of Zelda tune is a chance to move, attack, defend, and more, so stay one step ahead of each enemy and boss…or face the music. Cadence of Hyrule is coming Spring 2019!

True, Nintendo would have had to really like what Brace Yourself Games did with Crypt of the Necrodancer to greenlight this.
Especially since in an IGN interview after the announcement, Brace Yourself Games said that they originally approached Nintendo to do a small Zelda DLC for Crypt of the Necrodancer, but Nintendo showed so much enthusiasm for the idea of a crossover between these two series that it snowballed into a full blown Zelda themed sequel to Crypt of the Necrodancer.

This is one of the most novelity moments in gaming history I've experienced! An Indie developer got the chance to create a crossover between its own IP and one of Nintendo's top brands.
Brace Yourself Games deserved this so much! Necrodancer has been a lighthouse of creativity in an otherwise shallow and exhausted game developing environment.
What's even crazier is this is their 2nd ever game. And their name is literally perfect.
To be fair, Sony let Yatch Club Games use Kratos for Shovel Knight :P

If you didn't play Cyrpt of the Necrodancer, the whole game was like that. Especially the soundtrack song titles and boss names.
I would be shocked if that guitar-wielding armos knights boss wasn't called "Guitarmos Knights" in the final game.

@@keiyakins Probably for safety. Melody knew that place was dangerous, so she didn't risk any more lives being lost than her own. The only times two people went in together were by pure happenstance, and that was only near the end (Cadence and her dad)

The story is nearly that:
The Studio asked Nintendo if it was possible to make a collaboration for a DLC of Necrodancer and while brainstorming about it... Nintendo was so inspired by the idea they propose to ask them for a full episode

I keep watching this trailer over and over. They took my favorite franchise, my favorite game genre, and one of my favorite indie games, and mashed them up, in a trailer featuring my favorite Zelda song. They made this game specifically for me.
