She wanted to try writing, so she started writing a book, and after a few weeks I asked to try reading what she had..
She wrote 17 chapters, and there was LITERALLY NO PLOT. It was basically just a group of teenagers, living regular teenage life, and even then, a shockingly low amount of drama, you couldn't even call it a "slice of life" story. I asked her "how far through the writing are you?". I figured maybe it was a long intro, and the plot hadn't started yet. She said, I shit you not: "almost done actually! It's a short story."
I broke up with her 2 weeks later when I found out she cheated on me with a guy that she used to know who just got released from a psych hold lmao

I've heard comedians say that the audience will give you 1 or 2 jokes and laugh at whatever comes out of your mouth. That first guy took all the good graces of the crowd and pissed all over them in the first words out of his mouth.
I go to a lot of small shows, and I’m an easy laugh. I hate seeing someone give up or totally boot it. I’m a comedy fan, I want to like these people, and I want them all to do well.
That’s my baseline level with everyone, and they almost all knock themselves down for one reason or another.

I think people that show their interest, are genuine about it or that are genuinely nervous and it comes as wanting to but nerves hold back, Tony can sense that. He’s been doing it consistently for so long I’m sure his reading skills for that kind of thing are great.
But at times I think he gets the job done by roasting someone if they show some sort of disrespect or lack of concern for the show. I remember one woman got up and she said ‘I thought it’d be fun’ but that’s not this show and tbh, that’s what I think he means when he says about timewasters.

@@QuantumMecha also another thing I actually think makes this show more difficult to go on for upcoming comics is the fact that it’s literally a show where ur FORCED to be funny, and often times that puts pressure on ppl to fit a good joke within a MINUTE, and some ppls way of showcasing their humor is with set ups, hard to set up a joke within only a minute. So it’s like you go on and everyone’s immediately thinking “ok dude where’s the joke?” Cuz you only have a minute so if you don’t have back to back to back jokes, ur minute of shine is not gonna be good. This is a show made for consistent punchline humor rather than the conventional setup-punchline format.

that’s how it is folks, people who have nothing left to lose, who perhaps life hasn't smiled on them since a while, go to a now classist petty multimillionaires comedian's show prey to delusions of omnipotence like Tony, Joe Rogan, Tom, Bert, now even Shane and the others... comedians who, among other things, are themselves incapable of making people laugh in one minute, with the power to change someone's life or destroy it, I go back to saying that people who have nothing to lose could see red and do something crazy.

It's all about delivery, confidence and attitude. I'm 100% sure some comedians could make that work. Comedy audiences just smell weakness and they're like sharks on blood, especially ones in a show like Kill Tony.
