Basicly. Rin is a robot, made from a Lonely professer. When she awoke, Len tried to teach her to shake hands, and it was then he noticed she had no "Kokoro", a program missing. In truth, years had passed since Len's own daughter died, and made her to be the clone. When Rin touched the sceen, she gained her Kokoro. Then it shows Len, and the rest is shown on picture.
The kokoro was too much for Rin to handle so her body litterly started short-circuting. So her hand sort went boom and later she short-circuted and "died".
>> She then saw the cherry blossom tree and remembered the scientist gone there before he had died, started dancing around the tree for reasons i dont know, supposedly to show her feelings of happiness, she saw the corpse of the scientist and reminiscences about the past and started crying, then at another timeline, Len, the scientist, remembers his time that was spent with Rin, he looks ahead hoping to see Rin with Kokoro, and saw this portal appear, with Rin screaming in agony for Len. >>

But in conclusion, it was a sad story that both parties died. There were two part of the story tho, I just explained the Rin part, Len was basically trying to teach Rin Kokoro and died trying, she was emotionless. Thats why the song she sang has no real feelings to it, but Len was happy to have been accompanied by Rin. And that was so until the moment he died, under the cherry tree, only his concious crossed over to Rin's side, over a few hundred years later.

Rin had gained this heart, and at first was joyous, she went to appreciat the world, but when not being able to find her Master, she realized the truth. He was gone, her chance was past. and out of desperation, she mangaged to die with him in memory.

昔(多分10年前くらい)PVも好きで最後のサビの盛り上がり方も凄く好きで良く聴いてました。定期的に聴きに来るのですがコメントしたくなったでのします。 あの頃は思春期真っ只中で誰も信じられなくなって誰とも口聞かず心も汚れてるはずなのに涙がもう止まらなくて、悲しくて、悲しくて泣き崩れたのを今でも思い出します。この曲とPVはほんとにこれからも語り継がれたいですね。ココロの温かみ、大切さがとても伝わります。

曲も動画の絵も全部好きだし纏めて両方の歌が聴けるのは本当に感動して毎回泣くけどやはりレンの回想シーンでMEIKOとKAITO(双方シルエット)でまるでMEIKOとKAITOがレンを捨てたかのようなシーンがあるのがKAITOファンとしては悲しいです。
