Thanks for showing us this game. I love rolling dice for some reason, but most dice games are based on pure chance. This is a cool dice game with a lot of strategy.
try to diy a "the game of UR", it's pretty easy to set up on a piece of paper, beans or 2 set of different meeple-rocks-bean-gem-whatever you have 2 sets of 5 pieces of 2 different colors and with a bunch of dice (d4 or d6 works best) counting odds as white and evens as black and you are good to go :D
Doing the math the highest possible score is 162, half of that is 81, and that times 5 is 405, so I could see this as being played in multiple rounds with whoever being first to reach 500 wins, I might try that if Aaron wants to do this game this week.
Or it could also be played like backgammon, where you need to win 5 games to win the match. Playing multiple games will tend to cancel out the effects of chance.
This one was a hard one to get into but after a few solo games it really grew on me. I’ve played it with a few friends now and It really goes over well. Great video for rules and game play👍👍
Great explanation of how the game works! I've been playing CotL and have been sucked into Knucklebones to the point where I want to play with my GF. Bought a couple sets of different dice and wanted to show her how to play. Thanks again.
knucklebones is so much fun totally underestimated game, I bought the Cultist, Heretic, and Sinful Pack Bundle because I absolutely adore CotL, it's my favorite game of all time
Cool! I didn't know about this game within Cult of the Lamb! Saltsea Chronicles is another video game where they invented a trick-taking game especially for it, and integrated it within the lore. Each community you visit even has their own variant that reflects the way they live.
Cool! It’s funny that I own Cult of Lamb for the Switch, but have yet to fully play it. I do agree that some video games have the most coolest mini games like My Time at Portia’s “Cross Five”. Thanks for sharing and will definitely play the game on the table, as well as in the video game.
Fantastic!! I will be making a travel version of this to carry with me to game days. They mention Knucklebones in several episodes of The Choosen wonder if dates back that far ??
i propose an interesting variant. same rules, but the high score of rach row geys the chip or game point for that row. also a chip for highest oberall score. first to 4 chips wins. for 5his you'd more chips.
Interesting video, thank you. Did you mention something about a dice is protected at some point? I played an app version of the game and the tutorial taught me a rule about a die is being protected when a die comes after it.
When your opponent has three dice in a column, your side of that column is safe to add dice to because they cannot be removed at that point. However, if you play a die that removes one or more dice from your opponent’s full column, they now have the potential to force you to remove dice. In regard to the app, I think the designer added rules of his own making for it.

A very amusing dice game. I will play it with my friends at a bar table. Congratulations.
I love the unlimited possibilities that arise from dice and standard playing cards! Thanks for sharing this

Much appreciated! Not a fan of Cult of the Lamb, but this game (and the theme for it in the soundtrack) is quite amazing!

Thanks! I am happy you enjoyed the video. :^)
I think it's a great big minigame. And that it is not a problem to carry 18 cubes with you. Many thanks from the Czech Republic.
Glad you enjoy the game!

Hey, thanks for recommending Cross Five! I’m excited to give it a try.
Fantastic!! I will be making a travel version of this to carry with me to game days.

Dice used to be made out of knuckle bones. Also, I think knucklebones is an older name for a game like jacks which used knuckle bones for play.
Thank you for such a simple and straightforward example! 🎉
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching. ☺️

"Having two or three of the same face of die doubles or triples the total amount"
Yes... That's what having 2/3 of the same number means
🤣
Each die is doubled or tripled.
Awesome channel and awesome dice game!
Hey, thanks!
Witcher 1 also had a cool Dice game called Dice Poker
Presumably this game was in the public domain before they incorporated it.
Or did they in fact create the game?
This is an original game created for CotL as far as I know
@@riffleshuffleandroll Thanks 👍
Looks like a fun game. I'm gonna go buy some dice.
Sweet! I hope you enjoy the game =^)
seems like @@riffleshuffleandrollshould set up an affiliate link for dice 🎲

@@riffleshuffleandroll thx for the quick clarification. I would love a series about such quick and simple games from within video games.
I’ve been getting some good suggestions for games within video games. More videos to come. ☺️
