    Nice restoration. A tip for restoring screens/gloss plastics - Micro Mesh abrasive pads. They come in a pack of 9 from 1500 grit to 12000 - work through the grits and less polishing required at the end. I’ve just used them for the first time to polish an old retro tabletop game with a gloss black case and it came out great. 👍

    Thank you for creating the interesting content ❤ Loved watching it 🥇
    I actually like, that one can just observe you doing the work and you don't constantly have to talk about every step (like they do in other channels) 🏆

    I have a breakout handheld that is in almost the same case, six AAs etc. but playability looks better on the breakout version. Thanks for giving me the ideas to give it a similar restoration!

      @gamejaeger  6 місяців тому +1

      Very cool, for some reason I never realized there may be other games that Entex made in this same format. Breakout would be a great handheld though. Good luck with your fixes!

      That's so cool, I'll be sure to check it out. I just love these old handhelds. I wonder if it has similar button pads to this one or if they used different parts for each. That would be interesting to find out. You might also be able to 3D print a battery cover replacement. There are hundreds available on thingiverse or any other 3D modeling websites for that matter. It may not look 100% but at least you don't need to worry about the batteries falling out during play.

    First time seeing your channel! Awesome video! One idea I’ve seen before in videos like this is replacing the batteries with a rechargeable pack, instead of needing 6 AAs! Overkill for this device but it’s just a fun idea 😄

    • @gamejaeger
      @gamejaeger  6 місяців тому +1

      That's a great idea! I know a fistful of batteries is crazy for these old handhelds. It probably only last like 2 hours or playtime with them too lol.

      @gamejaeger  6 місяців тому +2

      LOL oh yeah! I was considering changing out the LCD screen after I opened it up and really struggled with it for a few days. I decided to keep it original and just clean it up as best as possible. I thought it would be neat to see it how it was originally intended to look versus updating it to now. There's a certain charm to the original look that I really like.

    Where do I get the paste you use to get the scratches because i have just like you're and trying the same thing

    • @gamejaeger
      @gamejaeger  3 дні тому +1

      It's actually a polish for a disc cleaner but you can probably use any type of polish that has a small amount of grit in it. Like automotive polish for cars should work well too.

    • @nicholassifuentes6198
      @nicholassifuentes6198 3 дні тому

      @@gamejaeger what's grit

    • @gamejaeger
      @gamejaeger  2 дні тому +1

      Just like sandpaper has different levels of grit for rough or finishing work, so do polishes most times. You don't want something with a lot of large grit in it where you can really feel the individual granules, but something that still has a little, almost like a sunscreen feel to it should be good. I think automotive polishes have different grades but I'm not very familiar with them unfortunately. You would just want one that's more of a finishing grade or maybe even a kit to work up in the grits so you can get a really smooth finish then. Hopefully that helps, good luck with your fixes!

      @@gamejaeger so what suggest i use

    • @gamejaeger
      @gamejaeger  2 дні тому

      I would check out automotive polish since it's widely available. Do some research to see which ones work well with plastics and test it on a corner that can't be seen first to make sure.

    You might try on those deeper scratches on the screen, a marble to rub and burnish the scratch Vigorously. it tends to slowly melt the plastics back together of the deeper scratches or lessen them without having to sand down to them.

    • @gamejaeger
