my crochet teachers are all gone, finally somebody I can follow along as well as I did with them! thanks for keeping our art form alive Stacy! Your tutorials have allowed me to step up my stitch game!
+Dana Potter Wow..what an honorable mention you just paid me!!..almost had me in tears...ty so very much for showing the appreciation you have in this message..I try to stay true to the genuine work of crochet best i can and when i can..and not focus so so much on every single new stitch or design..I do video them, but at the same time, i want to make sure to keep the true art alive as you stated..ty and ty for your support!!
This is one of the loveliest edges I've ever seen . I really appreciate that we don't have to single crochet around the border first. Looks great. A BIG thank you.
I've been crocheting for 43 years now, and I've never done corner to corner, I am definitely going to after watching your video, thank you so much for sharing your talents!
I made a single crochet line right around the blanket, then went and did a single crochet in the space between two of the clusters, two chains, next space again and cluster into the chains. Produced an amazing border as I did 5 trebles in one space and a single in the next one!
Thank you I have been wanting to learn this stich for as long as I can remember my Mommy taught me how to crochet but she didn't get to teach me this stitch before she passed away now I know she would be proud 😊
Thank you for your vido on decreasing on the c2c afghan i am currently working on a afghan and i did not know how to decrease so my afghan vis a little biger than i plan it to be, thank you for your help.
I absolutely LOVE these colors! I’m actually making a C2C for my nephew, I think I’ll leave out the picot stitch for my nephew, he may see it as a bit too girly for him. Lol. Great color coordination!
This is the first video of yours that I've seen and it is terrific! I love the way you get close in to show exactly where you're putting your hook, and the thorough explanations. I'll definitely be looking for more tutorial by you. :)
Love your tutorials I've been through a couple trying to find how to decrease a c2c and also the border and yours are by far the best thank u so much :)
Here's the problem I'm having: what do I do with the side of the work that's *not* like this, with chain-3 gaps and clean double crochets? Because the other side, where I did most of the decreases (slip stitching back up the "shell") has a different layout. Where do I put the border stitches then? (edit: it's a scarf I'm working with, btw)
Laktastic I wondered that too, until I finally finished my 40" square lap robe. By the time you finish the very final block, there is NO uneven edge any longer. It will look all the same. Promise.
hi there stitchinstacy….i love your channel and i love how you teach…. loved the afghan…your work is amazing… thanks for sharing. i have a question for you. if i wanted to make a baby blanket…how many rows will i need b4 i decrease. thanks
Deevine Mitchell Again..i have had this asked of me so many times..depends on the size hook you are using, the yarn you are using and how your tension is..their is really no set answer on this..i made a lapghan and if you watched the video i did give the block count in that video...i cant remember it at the moment but you can watch that and that will give you an idea on that size and you can go from there
I know this is a long time since this tutorial was published but as a lockdown crocheter I am still learning so I have watched carefully and have almost finished my border but I have a question,, we start on a corner with 5 dc, the other corners are 4dc 1 little bobble (sorry don't know how to spell it) and another 3 dc so how do we finish the border when we come back at the first dc we started with? I really hope someone can let me know...thank you for this video.
I have a question? When you started at the corner the made 5 DC and at the next corner the made 4 DC with c 3 and then 3 more DC in the same corner. So what happens when I come to the corner of 5 DC when I complete my border?
thank you for doing this pattern for us so we can learn. I have a question, how do I finish this. I have gotten to the beginning corner where we did the 4 double c, How do we finish up ?
They are all in the same playlist...as far as finishing,, you keep decreasing until you have one block left..just like you had one block when you started,,,its in the pattern that is linked to the video as well.
Very nice tutorial. I was wondering if you could share how you position your camera to create instructional videos like this one. What type of camera do you use and recommend? Thanks!
+Aura Main Hi Aura..I have shown on several tutorials over the last couple years how my filming table is set up and how my camera is on my filming area..so to view that you can go back and scroll through those tutorials on that playlist:)..Its a Sony
i would love to know what kind of camera you use but i can't find the videos that show your filming table but can't find it. i love your videos, you explain it so well. i am so glad i found you!!!
Red Heart pattern no longer exists. I am trying to make a rectangle, but want the bottom 1/2 to be reverse top 1/2 pattern... not sure when to start the decrease to get this... If you can help, I'd really appreciate... have watched dozens of videos and can't seem to find this or written form either. Thanks. ~Tess
Tess..yes the pattern does still exsist..i have gone directly too it...its still a fairly new pattern and stitch they wont remove a pattern like that...the link is under my video
hi Stacey love this pattern I made a beautiful shawl for a bride then decides to make an afghan. I have about 40 ounces of yarn how many rows (bkocks) should I make bef I start to decrease. pattern calls for 97 but I know I don't hv enough yarn for that many what do u suggest. T hanks for any help
+Paula Moorefield Miss Paula, as I have stated before with this C2C, its very difficult to speculate to anyone on the yardage on an afghan...if you are not using a specific pattern or following the video here, giving or taking a couple rows or blocks, its not easy for me or anyone to say or give this answer....and this is because the stitch itself is just an odd one to do that with based on how its worked up...I wish their was a way to give you an answer and everyone else that asks..but unless i have worked up different sizes, i cannot honestly do so in my expert opinion..this one you either will need to just have enough yarn to do a full afghan(I would base this off the actual written patterns that are offered for this stitch pattern) or you have no choice but to freeform it(working it as you go)...I really cant give you counts, estimates, measurements, etc for something like this..Im very sorry i cant give you what you need for this but if i cant be sure, im not one to pretend to know and give you the wrong answer..I gave the size on the one i did work....and that is how i got that size is by working it up, otherwise, i would follow the pattern sizes given:)
Hi Stitchinstacy. I was wondering if you could tell me the yarn & colors you are using? I absolutely LOVE them but find it so difficult to figure out which colors you are using when I am looking online or in the stores...Thanks in advance!!!! I appreciate it!
Yes i didnt have the paper for the multi colored one..that is what i stated in the video...lol sorry..but if you go to the yarn section in caron if they still carry it it shouldnt be hard to find
A baby afghan is gonna be worked the same way,, just fewer blocks,, all C2C afghans are worked the same,, just depends on the number of blocks you end up with before you start your decreasing..
Thanks! I asked a question in your decrease video!! I want to make at least a 30 x 30 but not sure at what point to start the decrease...when the one side measures 30? Just winging it right now!! At 25 blocks. Thank you for answering me right away!
To be honest,, its really hard to give an exact answer on the number of blocks to the exact measurement,, you just have to trial and error that as you go;)
Can I get a print of the instructions because it is hard for me to hold an I -Pad and try to Crochet at the same time.I can't remember all so would you reply her if I can get the instructions so my Son can print them off for me.
I'm having a problem keeping my sides/widths even especially when doing a rectangular C2C. and I've noticed when I use a very soft yarn it seems to be worse. Like it stretches, but only on the areas of the softest yarn. HELP!!
+Lana Kocurek Not sure what you mean keeping your sides even..dont know why they would be uneven..i have no idea what to tell you on that because i dont know what you may be doing.. as for the soft yarn..best i can say is dont use it if it makes it worse..if you have issues with uneven edges, sounds like your stitches are not correct..You would need to follow would need to watch the tutorial closely to see what you may be doing or not doing..Good luck!
+Stitchinstacy I guess what I mean is it is not true square, 90 degree corners. I've been very careful with my stitches. if I fold it in half corner to corner it matches up, but when I fold it end to end one side is longer, and not as wide as the opposite side. It's not a true square. I did several rectangular blankets and had the same problem so i went to the square c2c instead. but still have the issue.
+Lana Kocurek I don't have any idea why it's not a square..I have not had issues with any I have made not being a square...this is the first time I've had this question or issue from someone so..I vets something you have done somewhere along the way..but I can't say what it is
Lynda Thomas Well if you are reading the pattern, any pattern worked in this manner,, they are always called blocks,, because they are not worked as rows like most patterns,, its very important in crochet and any other art you do to understand technique..this is one of those times...you work this pattern in blocks..beause you are forming blocks,, not rows or straight stitches..
Stacy, I have my mixed media journals and my canvas and my water colors, acrylics, inktense, my altered Art projects, but Sweetie I am still lost on that response. I might be just too old for that. We might have to give me the strip down version. I have felt as of late that I might be losing intelligents as I gain years. Possibly Wisdom does not equate to our ability to maintain our ability to continue to learn quickly the newest techniques. For my Art is still Superb. Wise beyond these years. Though times I can't believe I did go to college. So please bare with me. I've never read the pattern You said fort something blocks. I too would like to make one for MY full size bed that I'll never share with ANOTHER. Thx Dear. XX's from Utah
Lol ok Miss Lynda..yes you can call them rows if you want.. but technically you are making blocks..they are not addressed as rows because as this pattern is an always been taught,, you are making blocks as you go along..i guess what im saying is working rows is more of simple stitchwork,, you are making up 4 stitches here to make 1 block,, you do this all the way across which eventually will make a row you could say..but youhave to make blocks before you make rows:)))..does that make better sense for you?...
Suraya Lian hahaha! I LOVE that you pointed that out because I can't help but notice their hands! Like swelling of the fingers or bruising around knuckles. And their nails - clean? Manicure? A Pet Peeve of mine is if the polish is old or chipped (This is very evident in Bead work & make-up tutorials). Thankfully I have never seen unkept nails or fingers from crochet videos. Although I can spot fake nails a mile away! I don't think the Host's realize at that magnification that you can see the original nails under the fake ones. I only spot them when detail is crucial and its longer than a few minutes. :-)
Picot stitch is pronounced pico not pea coat. It's French and they don't like pronouncing the last part of their words, kind of like vallay is valet, franswah is Francoise, dillahto[then a barely hinted at 'n' and no 't' whatsoever] is dilettante, etc. Who are we to pronounce a consonant when they don't?

Thank you this looks just what I'd like to do with mine. Love the blue, green and multi colour yarn together.

syvonne1324 Awesome...tysm and im very happy you find my tutorials useful!!.Im glad you enjoy them and ty for your support!!!:)
Thank you! This was so helpful and the perfect finishing touch for my c2c baby blanket I am making as a gift.
Your kind voice was just the help I needed this morning! Thank you!

This was great can you tell me what yarn you used and what are the specific colors? I love this color combination. Thank you.
Thank you for your awesome videos! Can you demonstrate how to do the border on Red Heart pattern LW6336?
You explain everything very well, thank you 👍🏻 and the accent is a bonus ❤️
Crocheting starts after 3:00 if anyone wants to skip to the border instructions.
Thank you Thank you Thank you! I was reading the pattern and cold not figure it out but your demonstration helped so much! Again Thank you!
Thanks for the video! I love how you giggle every time you say bobble😄
Thank you so very much for the video it really looks great on my blanket!
You are very welcome!!
Enjoy all your videos.. you are very talented. Thank you.
Love your video. Thank you. Could you tell me what brand hook you used and what size. Thank you again.
Janice Lalli Did you not watch the next video?
I couldn't find the next one. I just finished it my own way
They are all in the same playlist...as far as finishing,, you keep decreasing until you have one block left..just like you had one block when you started,,,its in the pattern that is linked to the video as well.
Thank you very much,is it the same way you do it.
I've decided to subscribe after the way you explained everything here haha

Do you do the decrease the same on the C2C if you are making it rectangular?
Red Heart pattern no longer exists. I am trying to make a rectangle, but want the bottom 1/2 to be reverse top 1/2 pattern... not sure when to start the decrease to get this... Stitchinstacy It was the 1st Red Heart link you have that's not there... found the c2c... thanks, eyes missed 2nd link.
The first link was just to Redheart..but keep in mind..all you have to do is go to Redheart yourself and type the pattern in the search bar
Hi, I have been doing crochet off and on for years. I was wondering if you could make blocks of different colors and then stitch them together?
you can make like c2c granny blocks..then stitch them together.. i have done that..if that is what you are asking:)
Stitchinstacy Yes ma'am thank you. :-) :-)

If you watched the entire series of my C2C...the colors were told in the "how to decrease your C2c Afghan"
I saw/heard sage, ocean & lime green but didn't hear the multi colored one???
Yes i didnt have the paper for the multi colored one..that is what i stated in the video...lol sorry..but if you go to the yarn section in caron if they still carry it it shouldnt be hard to find

Christine Ongano its Caron simply soft "Peacock Feather"
Love your videos! I would love to do this pattern but for a baby blanket!! Any help would be appreciated. The red heart one is way too big.

+Rose Woodbury you will have to go to Redheartcom to print their pattern
Whoe maak je de kruisjeshaaksteek en hoe begin je
As far as I know Caron and Red Heart are all apart of Bernat ❤
how do you do the end of the border when you get back to where you started with the picot like in the other corners
+laurie mosier Like you would any other stitch, you slip into the beginning st
I love your videos!
Do you have to block s c2c Afghan

Me also, very difficult to follow with variegated yrn.
OMG All these years I have been saying it wrong... I have been saying C2C Afghan. You are calling it CdC
Afgun.
😁😁😁😁
Talk…talk…talk
There is a better tutorial called borders for c2c this one is horrible and looks terrible in the multi sorry
Stop saying okay, drives me nuts, it's constant!
Too much talking!
That is why its called "Instructional Tutorials",, you have to talk to teach:)
