- In this video, I demonstrate how you can achieve stunning effects by just using wood glue and wiping technique.
Here I also use a digital drawing of my original photo using Procreate (Ipad app) to plan my colour design.
This video is also a great example of how useful proof print is, in making further decisions about your future prints.

Good decision to crop it. I love the depth you created in the second print! 👍🏼
Sometimes you just have to give it a chop 😃
I love your videos! Retiree taken up printing again after 40 years! Learning so very much watching you work! Thank you for recording, but I would rather hear your narration than this distracting piano! Sorry!
Thank you so much, I stopped having music in my later videos so you won’t be distracted. Enjoy printmaking and great you have re-ignited your passion 🤗
Thanks for creating these videos. I’m just getting started with collagraphy but you’ve given me a great foundation to build on.
So glad, thank you and good luck on your journey!
Spectacular resultl!!
Thank you 🙏
Such a sophisticated ink and wipe!
Thank you 🙏 😎
What does the wood glue do exactly? Where's the "magic?" This is not explained very well.
Hi Thank you for your great tutorials. I have been saving bits of board to start and was shocked at the price of shellac. Is there another product I can use for learning instead. Very much appreciate any advice. You are a fantastic teacher and artist.
You are very welcome Carole. You can also use watered down pva glue as a sealant. You don’t actually have to seal the plate at all of you are not planning to make lots of prints
What is the board you are using? Mat board?
Hi there, I am using a gloss board called enviromount
@@CollagraphPrinting would this be the same as mat board in the US? I can only enviromount board sold in IK.
@@kstutz230 you can use pretty much any cardboard to make collagraph. Even a tetra pack from your recycling
I wanted to listen to your voice but it‘s hard to understand with the music
Hi, sorry about that, I have no music in my later videos if that helps!
I have just found your channel and thank you for the wealth of information you are sharing with us. I am new to collagraph and have a quick question … you mention enviroboard in the list of supplies. In australia the enviroboard I found does not have the white paper sheet its just brown. Do you put the paper on or does it come already mounted
Hello Chris and you are very welcome 🤗 The board is actually called enviromount and you can get it online handprinted.co.uk/collections/drypoint/products/enviromount
Sorry got the name a bit wrong. Hope you can find somewhere that will ship to Australia. Most cardboard is actually ok, as long as you can peel layers off. I prefer a smooth surface as you can build dark layers by peeling off, however you can use cardboard that is Matt as well, by applying watered down wood glue to make it glossy
Thank you for the really quick response 🌺. I am using mat board but it does not peel as easily as the board you are using. Its ok I will just have to take more care in my prep and sealing. When I get a better handle on what I want to do I will go searching for some better options. You have given me so many ideas and your process is easy to understand. Not so easy to do but I am getting there.
I think I just found it in Australia. They are called Japanese Paper Drypoint Plates and quite a few places sell it so I will be right for some local supplies
@@crisscross104 fantastic! Good to know an alternative name for this product, thank you 😊
I liked the first print....but would've prefered it with the enhanced colouring of the second.......
Very nicely done...
Thank you 😊
wow what an absolutely gorgeous print !!!!
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful!
Thank you 🙏
