Formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in the summer of 1981, SSD (Society System Decontrol) are universally recognized as the first straight-edge band and their 1982 debut The Kids Will Have Their Say is considered a landmark release for hardcore music. However many fans consider 1983’s sophomore effort Get It Away to be the band’s most crucial release. Trust Records has re released both albums and has partnered with Six Stair Productions to tell the story in this short film about one of hardcores most important bands, SSD.

Was fortunate enough to see SSD 3 times in the early 80s, @ the Channel , Irving Plaza in NYC and in Quebec city, what stood out was the ferocious energy intensity and how tight they were playing at that break neck speed. On par was DYS !!.. like they said, that era 82-85 was intensely wild and the likes will probably never be seen again... GREAT MIX of old pics and music, well done.

4:39The Black Dude on the Left was Jon Easley, singer for "Sorry" R.I.P Jon. I saw SSD a few times in 1982. The Mosh pit was Crazy but when Al threw his guitar down and Jumped into the Fray everyone Vacated. Nobody wanted to Slam Dance with Al. Dude was a Monster.

All great bands from that era but i think jon sox was pure genius with lyrics from fus. Cliff hanger from the freeze also could write pure genius lyrics. What a blast that time was. Anyone remember when amy mann worked at the origai Newbury comlcs?

I saw the second show. Never saw anything like that in my life. I was kinda scared. Al had a very serious presence. Springa was outta control. Chris was an amazing drummer. Jamie was getting his legs. They were a force to be reckoned with.
