Marcus Garvey said "Africa is for Africans both at home and abroad"! We are Africans also!
Absolutely! And we have always felt welcome when we travel home. I urge anyone with African blood who has not visited to experience their own homecoming
And you guys will always be part of us,We’re proud of you guys.
I'm going to say this so please don't bite my head off. But there is a must for people to research history because it didn't happen the way we were told.

💯
The degree of ignorance and misinformation about Africa, even among members of the black family, is shocking! Days ago a colleague, a well educated AA lady, asked me a question about Ghana. I answered and took pains to explain a lot of other things, including sharing some easily-verifiable historical facts with her; and all along it was like I was talking to a brick wall. She just couldn't bring herself to believe what I was saying. To her credit though, she politely listened and thanked me. These guys have damaged us big time, and we have a lot of work to do to liberate our minds from their misinformation, indoctrination and lies. Sad!
Paa, you are totally right on! It's like some folks can't even open their mind to the possibility that things are not what they seem. We hope our channel will offer some insights and help others expand their thinking . Thanks for watching!
Bro, I liked how you took time to arrange your grammar. Congratulations!
The truth is if the connection between Africans on the continent and those in the diaspora reach its ultimate climax the world has to bow to have a stance with us.
So the best way forward for them was to kill that connection between us and we've allowed them to do that all these while but this generation of ours is turning the clocks and its gonna be massive. The beauty of this universe is hidden on this continent it is up for us to decide on letting it shine or not.
When I stepped off the plane in Cameroon, they hugged us and asked where had we been? Why have we been gone so long? They loved us.
YES! It's is ironic that Americans think they will be resented or persecuted. I know there are incidents of that, but overall we have found our travels throughout West Africa to be welcoming and pleasant . I bet Cameroon was lovely!❤️️
the white people go to african for holiday why african america are afraid to go to african
Expat Life Ghana oohh sound warm and touching ❤️
@Deshone Robinson I thought every melanated person on the planet came from Africa?
@@wenotlikethem there is also genetics. non-Africans contain a subset of African diversity. So if you imagine. A. Bag of skittles if you take a handful out. The diversity would remain in the bag. Even if you could magically badaling ling more of the flavors you're only increasing the same.
I was born in Ghana but left when young, so based on media representation of Africa 🌍, I was petrified to return to Ghana 🇬🇭. I thought I'd catch some disease and die an untimely death! It took ✈️ visiting on 3 SEPARATE occasions (staying for 6months in one of the visits) to convince my Western-media-miseducated brain that Ghana was as fabulous as I'd experienced on all the stays.
I'm relocating there to build and live my best life 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Yes, totally! We have such a skewed perception of Africa. I am glad to hear that you found Ghana fabulous! And WELCOME!
c'mon... abi you no get papa and mama?? haba
Oh please... 🙄
When are u bringing part 2 of your story....... This your narrative di3 aaaaaaaaaahhhhba
I think you should create a video about this. 😁
American does paint Africa in a negative light.
Right? the same way they paint BIPOC a certain way. There is an American perspective that is hard to deny.
There are poor people in America too
OMG, you are so right! And I believe we are about to see an increase in Americans living in poverty in the near future.
All over the US not just the southern states.
Everywhere.
I'm poor in America, Maybe somebody in Ghana can send me a $1 a day!

When she mentioned that “stunt fly”, I knew exactly what commercial she was talking about. That commercial is a menace.
Hahaha! YESSSS- it is like the single most detrimental 3 seconds of TV for the African perception! Damn that fly 😠!

as at now i speak 6 languages in ghana all of which i learnt as a kid .....all this is thanks to the fact that ghanaians of different tribes could dwell under the same roof
You are soooo lucky! ❤️️ I lost all my local languages when I was small and started speaking mostly English with less exposure to Ghanaian languages 😢.
So happy to see Ghana doing so well. It really looks like a beautiful country.

Thank you for teaching me so much about my own country, Ghana. I want to learn more. I just subscribed to your channel
The Africans don't speak English bit really surprised me, lol. Almost every African country was colonized by some European or Asian country who imposed their languages on us. So we speak our ethnic languages alongside theirs. But, when i cast my mind back, i now understand why my American friend asked me how i manage to speak English so well,
Africans can speak English but it’s not our language is it?
Thanks for this educative video... LOVE Ghana!!

I once told a co-worker my brother was a businessman in the Gambia. His response to me was like "How can you be a businessman in Africa?" His heritage was from Mexico via Texas. I was floored by that query. I wanted to ask him "Do you think the continent of Africa is dead or uninhabited? I mean how do you think people get the things they need?" Americans seem to forget that the US used to be a colony like many others around the world. there's an anglophone Africa, francophone Africa, etc. I think west Africa launched a FAR MORE effective defense against COVID than the USA!!!
Great job. U explained everything very simple. Much love. Our brothers and sister in the diaspora, u are always welcome home 💐❤️✊🏿
Thank you so much 😀

I am Yoruba Nigerian living in UK. In west Africa you learn minimum of 2 languages. English and Yoruba if you live in Lagos. You start doing english examinations from age 5. If you fail you are made to repeat the year
I love that bilingual education happens so early! The developing brain has a much higher level of retention at that age and I wish the US had language programs embedded in early education. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Expat Life Ghana yoruba here too - i learnt hausa, yoruba, french n english starting at 5 too. In Nigeria .
Excellent content. Enjoy your new life in the Motherland.
Thank you! Will do!
Nothing stifles a human being more than negative vibes. I therefore feel that part of the objective behind this negative narrative about Africa is to break the spirit of Black people in America. One does not see the same negativity and scorn in relation to India (for example). Yet there is not much that is fundamentally different between living standards in Africa and India. The greatest impediment to grand development in Africa is tolerance to corruption, rather than the work ethic/intellect of the people. Rwanda and Botswana are two examples of countries in Africa that have significantly clamped down on corruption, and the results are there for all to see. I applaud your efforts to use your channel to correct the unsavory myths
Welcome home our brothers and sisters.. this is your home.. one Africa... I live in Accra.. gotta subscribe your channel sister..

Aww... @Jocelyn Martinez - Thanks for the love ❤️️!
Skybar was so nice! I was there last week. Best tacos I've ever had!!
I'm so glad for videos like this. I LOVE Nigeria. But I'm so hesitant about ever living there because as much as I know them and love them, they are tribalistic🤷🏽♀️. But fun loving people. However, it won't stop me from visiting. But Ghana is not tribalstic. I never get that from them. So it's easier to adapt to Ghanaian culture. My parents are Jamaican and I hate to say it. But the media has even made me scared to go there. However, the media's narrative won't stop me.
So media affects so many of us that are on the outside. I can't tell you how many of my African friends or aunts try to discourage me from the move (more so Nigerians)😁😁. Some will judge another country based on bias or from their experiences in their own country which might not be widespread. And some are excited for me to go. I find my Ghanaians are exuberant about it! Easy to Transportation. I know the other countries will catch up. It's happening.
Our minds need transforming ☺️. It's in motion.
We shouldn't listen to that media. I have always been scared to go to Jamaica because all that comes of there is frequent murders, drug, it's not safe etc...That will not stop me to go and visit
The narrative is so biased here. It is unfortunate that it sways so many from traveling abroad. I hope people will see this and follow our experience... and have an opportunity to change their opinions with some unbiased reporting 😉.
You nailed it 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thanks for that comment @Esther QUEEN BEE, appreciate it 😉!
Great channel! I'm looking forward to following along on your journey & hopefully make my own move to Ghana soon.
You should👍! It you do, then our videos will be helpful. Until then, we hope you enjoy following a long ❤️️.
That is a fun video but with true facts!
Awesome, thanks 😉!
Hey y’all! Great video. My only thing with Ghana might be the expense. Lol. That poverty narrative was purposefully created. Yes I can’t wait for that conversation about the feelings towards Americans, specifically African Americans from your perspective.
So true, the expense is real. We will talk about budgeting for Ghana in a future video too. Stay tuned for that conversation 💰...
expense depends of your life style and the area you want to live, if you want to live at Accra then you need to prepare
I’m a French Ghanaian, every time I go to Ghana on holidays I usually tend to live an European lifestyle, go to the mall, beach etc... it’s expensive. International products mainly imported, many foreigners, the cost of living in Accra has increased. However, if you adapt yourself to the local life then it’s okay. Other Ghanaian cities are less expensive.
Yes, Accra is expensive to live, no doubt about that. But let's not mistake Ghana for Accra and vice-versa. Most places in Ghana aren't that expensive at all, but everyone wants to live in Accra. Even in Accra, one can live a reasonably descent life on a modest income; it all comes down to your taste and lifestyle.
Totally! If you're living an Ghanaian life that is a completely different cost of living than living an American or European life in Ghana. Thanks for that comment and insight!
Five to six years and I'm leaving America for Africa on the first thing moving, can't fucking wait.
Hello, nice video! My wife and I are planning to visit Ghana soon.We will be flying out of Houston. Thanks and keep those videos coming......

ima Ghanaian living in The USA and I hate how Americans talk about Africa like there's no homeless people all over the streets and like there's no poverty in America! there's poverty everywhere .
Yeah... Duh!! Completely agree with you! You are spot on, there are problems everywhere. Every person has to weigh the pros and cons to decide what is best for them. We listed some pros (ua-cam.com/video/Yn-zQfushJY/v-deo.html) and cons so others can decide what works for them. And, believe me, I could easily make a '15 things I hate about living in America' without blinking... guess that is why we're moving to Ghana ❤️️ 💛 💚. When are you planning on moving back?

I thought that every place in Africa was impoverished with big stomach babies with flies flying around them living in huts. That is not the case!! And poverty is everywhere in the world. I have not been to Africa yet but I am planning a trip for early 2021.
@Terra see how that trip changes your eyes and your thoughts about America...
Did u really think that?

Thanks! We are well ❤️️... and we hope you are too!
I can relate, because i am from Canada , and some people believe i am living in a deep freeze in a igloo , and then i have to explain that most of the population of Canada lives on the border of Canada and USA !!!!
@Ron Merkus - how we all get things so twisted in our minds is unsettling... because we use the untruths to judge others and limit ourselves. Great comment - Thanks for adding to the conversation ❤️️💛💚!

Any country in the world is good if your rich. But the majority local population over there cannot live this quality of life
@Joshua Johnson -What countries have you been to for you to think that? Ever been to Dubai? You need to be an millionaire to live there basically or you're poor. You don't need allot of money you need to be smart with money. Most Ghanaians don't live frugally or the American/Western lifestyle and thanks for the comment 😊!
I'm lol'ing because you probably needed graphics for the video to resonate. Let me hush. 😂😂
You know... You got a point @Missy, lol!
So because Africa is 3 to 4 times bigger than USA, Ghana kind of looks smaller than Florida or Texas on the map but is actually bigger than Florida or Texas
IF black people( people of african descent )was unified and ready to make history an create generational wealth , we could get 10,000 black people to invest a minimum of 250$ each month for 4 months or ,that’s 10 M$ in spending power. We could then take that to a country like The Gambia. 10M$ in The Gambia would be more like 15M$ due to the value of the dollar and it being a cash society. We could acquire land and open businesses and employ locals a few businesses in grave demand would be ...
1.cement manufacturers, lumber manufacturers, lumber services, Semi trucks
2.Commercial farming and fishing exporting through out the continent
3. Recycling factories rubber, glass, scrap metal, and also fish processing to create fish oils
4.Riverfront communities with luxury amenities for guest Time shares for investors
5.Manufacturing of furniture and other household goods
6.Commercial Laundry Mats
7. Create a Financial Institution where we could invest in the locals of African Descent and their businesses in terms of growing the gambia
8.Providing electronic products and internet services( Used and new phones, tv, gaming systems,)
9.Auto Sales/ Auto Mechanics/ Auto Parts store
10.Crude oil plants which is in virtually everything - www.ranken-energy.com/index.php/products-made-from-petroleum/
11.Investing in a education institution that primarily focuses on Technology, Sciences, and Math
I don’t know about you but i am sick and tired of every person not of African descent taking over , this peaceful african man has to cease ; We have to form a standard military with rigorous training once we get into Africa who governs police stations, and protecting our communities most importantly get into politics or overthrow them simply(if we don’t change together then the colonizers will make change )create wealth for the whole country. Back the country value of currency with Natural resources ,start drilling Oil and get those colonizers out of the Continent. We have to first build up the Heavy industry ..The building of Factories/ Warehouses and bidding on jobs the mining of (coal, iron ore, salt, oil, gas, and gold). Then We have to become the worlds factory floor and develop all of the low tech manufacturing( all electronics), Advance and invest in Solar Internet/wifi,
Each increment of 250$ would act as a share. ultimately getting paid a percentage off all profits. Ultimately the goal is to force the chinese and other people that’s (not of African descent) out of business. We could organize a FB group and advertise to other streams of social media to draw support and or interest. If your reading this ,comment your ideas and if it sounds achievable!! feel free to connect with me if you would like to be apart of this!

GH all the way!
THE TARZAN MOVIES WERE USED TO MISINFORM THE WHOLE WORLD ABOUT AFRICA.
It is crazy how the Tarzan myth misinformed people about Africa, but also fed into the black fear narrative. SMH. Damn them lies!
HOLLYWOOD IS JUST ONE HUGE WHITE SUPREMACY PROPAGANDA MACHINE SET TO MAKE CAUCASIAN RACE LOOK AND FEEL BETTER THAN OTHERS. WELL, THANKS TO THE INTERNET, EVERYONE NOW MAKE VIDEOS AND MOVIES TOO ON UA-cam, TO UNVEIL TRUTH WHICH HAS
BEEN COVERED UP.
Akwaba my elders. First of all Africans wherever we are Africa will always be our home whether settling or visiting. I first came to 🇬🇭in 79/80, before every Saturday they were showing Tarzan as Africa is more jungle than a global continent and yes showing our babies in particular that they were starved and were full of diseases but when I first landed in Accra fearlessly and confidentially not only I didn’t see anything of that narrow minded fallacy but Africa has its ups and downs. In Accra, I couldn’t stop looking at the houses, the hotels, the markets, the clinics, the schools etc. So where’s the jungle and the famine?
I'm retired will I continue to receive my retirement checks and social security checks?
From my experience, you will have to receive it in an American bank account and make arrangements for transferring or wiring it to you in Ghana. Those fees can add up but more and more banks offer debit cards with low international fees. We are still working through the most efficient way to move money around and I will let you know what we come up with!
By the way... SSI and retirement in US dollars with Ghana living is like the
I’m Ghanaian but live in the US. Best way is to have an account in Ghana as well as the US. And download the MoneyGram app, that way you can MoneyGram your money from your US account to your Ghana account for just a $3 fee and you have it in your account in Ghana in minutes. Hope this helps. There’re other means but i find this very convenient.
If I had the $$ I would like to rent a house or an apartment in Ghana.I am a retired so I would look forward to the experience...There are really nice affordable homes in Ghana. Unfortunately this Covid mess is catchy in Accra & I saw on You-tube that Ghanaians are heading to Northern Ghana to escape the escalating Covid cases in Accra.
Yes, I have seen some reports of the same, but overall the number of cases seems less catastrophic. And the rental market in GH can be tough, but if you have the patience to find a place you love, then you'll be golden.
Like seriously? 🤣
No one is moving anywhere to escape COVID-19. That's gross misinformation, dear. Ghana has done a great job handling the pandemic. It's not all that we'll the world over, Ghana inclusive, but we're not in a death zone. I believe our will be fully opened soon.
On your first issue of renting an apartment, it sure can be done. You can also own your own property if you so wished
If you going settle anywhere in Africa then visit one of our counties of your choice.
My elders did you that as a couple?
Good for you
Thanks! And thanks for following along ❤️️
Ghana is growing but definitely not the most developed in Africa. There are several other countries with great infrastructure, sky scrapers and a touch of the Western world for those who love the city life. There are villages as well, wildlife-game reserves etc I like that you are showing a snippet of Africa. Check out other countries as well...there is a lot to see in Africa and every country is unique. Kinda like how California is different from Ohio etc True the average African speaks about 3+ languages. Keep up the good work!
Great comment - Thanks for adding to the conversation ❤️️💛💚! Interesting idea @Nel Shiro
For me the thing that I like the most about Ghana is black Ghanaians are in control, no upper class of former colonisers controlling the country, and enjoying the legacy of the colonial era. This is very important if you are coming from places like US, the last thing you want is to be second class.
Thank you for your comment! ❤️️👍😊
I want to say hello and it’s nice to meet you. People know right from wrong. You don’t expect people to give you money to serve them for a job you are getting paid to do. You don’t raise prices on the foreigners because they are not from your country. Police stop you and expect for you to give them money this is not right. People that have moved and left Ghana is because of this type of treatment towards them and it’s not right. People do not have put up with that type of treatment when they have a choice.
The part about Africans speaking English...I had to explain that to my aunt who has traveled the world like 4 times over.
Yeah, right? Now there are gaps in understanding sometimes... like with slang words or words with double meanings. But English works in so many places!
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down?
You've got that right @Son Of Songhai! Thanks for commenting ❤️️🇬🇭❤️️!
Welcome home brothers and sisters.

I am interested in moving their. I'm a retired educator as well as retired military. Will I lose my social security benefits if I move to Ghana? Please help me navigate the moving process.
No sir u can come and visit and do your checks here before you decide and I'm sure u will stay
Hey! I have been in education for the last 15 years, so hey there fellow educator! We are going to be dropping videos as we work through the process so others have a guide to help them out. You can draw your benefits from abroad. From my experience, you have to deposit into an American account and then find a way to transfer or wire the money to yourself in Ghana. Some banks in the US are better set up for international banking, so you'll have to do some research to find what works best for you. Otherwise, you will be in the BEST situation (earning/drawing US dollars and using them with a super favorable exchange in the Ghana economy)!

Ghana is a middle income economy and before colonisation it was the 35 richest country in the world of 200 countries yep, a lot multi national companies in ghana using its resources and people but they will show you a different narrative so you don’t come and invest then they can pillage yup😌
It makes me so sad to see how the exploitation of Ghanaian people, land and resources are dispersing wealth away from Ghana and Ghanaians and into the pockets of colonialists. I hope that more people will see the value in preserving Ghana's wealth. Great insight ❤️️!

Pls, when dealing with the size deal with the figures and not the pictorial depiction by Europeans.
Totally makes sense!
Africa is about 11, 608,000 sq. Miles.
Thanks for the fact check... great to know.😉
Ghana is same size as state of Oregon.
Great reference point! We had been comparing it to Florida because people seem to have a sense of the size of that floating peninsula. I will have to start referencing Oregon when we talk! Thanks for the tip ❤️️.
Africans generally don't like the American government, American foreign policy, and it's imperialism. Africans don't hate American people in general or black Americans specifically.
The belief in the clicking is quite idiotic. The "click" is used in languages only spoken in Southern Africa. Specifically languages that were influenced by the Bushmen/Khoi San language. So that would be languages such as Xhosa. You won't hear that in West Africa.
The poverty narrative also really needs to change. 8 out of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world are African countries. With the number one fastest growing economy in the world being Ethiopia.
Just subbed I have the goal to be the top comment.
Alright Brent, let's do this!👍❤️️✌️

There is poor places everywhere. Cleveland is like save the children poor. There are poor places in Africa and super rich areas as well especially in Nigeria
No joke! I have seen some insane levels of poverty here in the US, which affect people of color more. I think that, in a way, it reinforces this idea that blacks are poor so a country full of black people must be a country of poverty. We must change this skewed perception! Thanks for that comment, great thinking point!
@@ExpatLifeGhana I agree. We re slowly getting there
