(1998) Daniel Jones and Darren Hayes always knew they were going to be pop stars. To them it was pre-ordained. In their adolescent dreams, they had number one hit records and played to sell-out concerts. It never occurred to either of them it wouldn't happen. It was always just a question of when. So now that it has happened, these Brisbane youths are pretty laid back about it all. Savage Garden is the first Australian act since INXS to make it to number one on the American pop charts but Daniel and Darren remain refreshingly unaffected.
