- How many of you didn't know that Darren has a scar? I didn't know about his scar either, until I heard his story. It's actually really funny. I hope you guys find it as funny as I did.

We totally see the stars in Darren's eyes when he talks being happy (in love).
Love how he says Bum with his Aussie accent. It sounds so cute, not as lame as it sounds in American English..

He has said it was about a year, but you know Darren, he never lets on too much, trying to maintain some privacy. It was definitely in 2005 though, as he said he and Richard attended Elton's wedding (Dec 05 I think) and they were already married.

Darren was officially married (that is legally) in June 06 but he has said a few times that they actually had the ceremony approximately a year earlier, though he won't give the actual date because that's private, so yes it's quite possible he was already married.

maybe it's just me being an american, but saying "bum" in any other accent sounds so much better. "bum" in an american accent just sounds wierd...maybe it's because we say "butt" or "ass" more often than "bum"

When he wrote Truly, he was in love. When he wrote I Knew I Loved You, he wasn't (going through a divorce).

Both songs were composed in entirely different circumstances. In the words of Darren Hayes: I Knew I Loved You was a song created at a time when he felt wounded by love; it was a calculated effort because SG's record company wanted them to do a record that would be a follow-up to Truly Madly Deeply. They composed it in 40 minutes of annoyance at the demands of their record company... which was very happy with the end result.
'Truly Madly Deeply' was more difficult to compose, yet more sincere. It was born from the recording sessions Darren and Daniel did in Sydney throughout 1996/97. It was Darren's first time ever away from his family and from his native Brisbane: the longing for his family and wife inspired him to write Truly Madly Deeply.
So one was inspired by genuine love and feelings, while the other wasn't.
