I found a dope 75% black with lower portion orange Oranda at a PetSmart. Prettiest fish I've ever bought, 5 inch when I got her. She's 3 now and turned completely orange.

Agree with your betta tank size views. I recommend 5 gallons for healthy and able bettas but I use a 3 gallon as a temporary home for my plakat until I setup my 15 gallon. I will say that I'm going to downsize my half blind betta with a slight swim bladder issue to a 3 gallon so that he doesn't bump into decor and because the open space in the 5 gallon seems to stress him out

I have used 3.5 as well for some of my large finned Bettas. I was unaware of the fin issues these guys develop as they grow. It seems to be to stressful to get around a larger tank lugging those huge fins around and they keep getting fin damage. The smaller tank with a few real plants and a place to rest has really helped with that. Short finned Bettas are definitely more energy and do great in bigger tanks. ☺️ I have a female in a 70 gallon and she zips around that thing like speed racer 😁

If you are thinking about setting up a tank for a cherax crayfish, i am thinking of setting 1 up again but i love to see what you do with scaping it and also cherax are the most colorfull and beautifull crayfish, a win for the collection!

@@HaYNFishKeeper I used to have a painted devil crawfish it was really beautiful sadly I had to bring it to petco because I ordered dwarf orange crayfish and I was sent the wrong order. I didnt have the tank set up for him or I would have kept him.

I agree a 10g is perfect for a betta. My betta lives in a 10g planted tank with 4 x ray tetras and 4 panda corydoras..... I know a bit of a heavy stocking but the fish are very happy and healthy. My betta loves the panda corydoras he will sit there snacking on the corydoras food together the betta will break it up amd the Cory's go and snack on the scraps. It's really cute. But the betta doesnt seam to like the tetras.

Honestly some of this I wish to have known before I started my tank. The fish are doing well in it but I did have a few die on me due to mistakes that I know might of been my own incompetence or also because I had to leave for a trip shortly after setting up the tank. The first fish I had that died on me was caught in a whole shipping problem where it was stuck in the mail for a full 2 days longer then it should of because they put it on the wrong truck.
Ohhh that sucks I hate when there’s a shipping problem it’s the worse feeling ever!!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Great breakdown on getting started and what mistakes to avoid. Start off as big as space and budget allows, but be patient through the process. I've had great success with starting a new aquarium with a seeded sponge filter from an established tank (at least 30 days) and adding Stability for 7 days as per the product instructions. Great content Fam 😎

I def love when u go into the fishstores. Makes good content. One thing i recomend in fish tanks is the ziss bio bubblers for new begginers from aquariumcoop. I Run them in all my tanks and they hold the good bacteria and flush out the bad bacteria.

Kalihi Pets is where I go. Petco don't have much selection and yes, Petsmart got more selection here. Petland is pricey probably of their high rent in Kahala.

I'm a petsmart/lowes kind of guy lol. I've bought 3 of the 75 gallon kits and 2 of the 125 gallon kits from there , they recognize me when I come in haha

That’s what I do or you can just follow the instructions on the bottle I just get super stressed when doing it this way and always over does Beneficial Bacteria! 🤙🏽😂💯💯

Having Any of those fish in a tank is a gamble it may work it may not depends on how big the aquariums is and the scape

I go to petco. Lol matter infact I only shop at petco. I've had some good and bad luck. Today I'm going to petco and buying a night bulb for my lizard, some food for her. Then also getting a few dwarf African frogs.

To be honest I have to buy all my fish on West from Petsmart we only have one local place around here And it’s a puppy mill that sells the fish and their fish are more sick than Petsmart surprisingly but every fish I get I have to quarantine because I just don’t trust anything

Like all chain retail stores, the store is made by its associates, not the name itself. Most pet stores, even small mom and pop shops actually get their "livestock" from the same vendors. Its true though, some chain retail stores have lazy associates and the animals suffer for it. But not all, I've seen some decent ones.
