I think it's worth mentioning that the 562 probably wasn't broken in yet. I noticed a change on mine about 8 or 9 tanks. A change that made me raise my eyebrows. Now, I love a Stihl and I would love to try a 400, but honestly, for the extra money it costs over thw 562 I just can't see it. I used to run 044s all the time and I have been very imprwssed with the 562, it screams.

562xp is hands down the best 60cc class saw ever made!! I scored a new in the box 2022 model and a blew up 2021 model last week. Already have the blew up one build and cutting. I have owned 6 of them including these 2. And always feel like I lost my best friend when I sell one. Lol

This is sorta how I feel about most stihl products. They are good nothing to hide about that, but they aren't performance machines. I think they are built to last in comparison to other brands. Husqvarna, imo, is built for performance more these days than it used to be years ago. Echo on the other hand has always been about quality, long lasting equipment with torque and broad power curves for any user. Pros and homes owners can pick up an echo and feel like they can get it done. But like with every brand not every model built gives us that feeling. I'll say this the entry level stihls are gutless, same as the echos and husqvarnas. It's all really about preference and what you're using it for. Comparing a stock 590 echo to any pro saw such as the 562xp, stihl 362/400 is not really fair. Put the 620p in there out of the box against the husqvarna and stihl, then we might have a true pro saw shootout. Nothing against what you're doing at all because it's cool as hell to see the badass comparisons period! I agree the Stihl should easily outperform them all with the larger engine. I really think it's more about preference and how the machine feels in the user's hand than anything. Great videos! Keep it going bro!

A commentor on another 400c video stated that you should touch wood if cutting logs before opening it up. Since the saw is continously trying to adjust for conditions if you peg it out of the wood it adjusts for limbing. I didn't hear the saw stumble here like I did in that video so think you put it to wood before it adjusted for no/light load. Just thought it was good information to share.

I sold a 1st gen early 562 and picked up a new 400C. Both bone stock. They are both good saws for what they were designed to do. Power to weight is really good. It boils down to what feels best in your hands.

The 50cc, 60cc, 70cc era is what I can see over. To see the 59cc and the 67cc etc as a 60cc is probably not doing much good since producers change the cc of there saws to get the best result when comparing.

Boedy your grabbing the tiller exhaust reminded me of a childhood story of myself. I was at my Grandparents and my Mom came to pick me up, She pulled up in the car, an old 1980 something Nissan Stanza wagon, she pulled up and I don't think she had even switched it off yet and I grabbed the tail pipe full bore. Boy was that rough, I didn't get mustard on my hand but my granddad for some reason grabbed some wild onions out of the yard and rubbed them all over that hand, I don't remember it helping though but he got an A for effort.

I wouldn’t think the magnesium piston won’t last as long as the aluminum piston.
I do feel Stihl wins in the 50cc saw category though…it will match the 550xp mark 2 in performance and a pound lighter in weight is a big difference on small saws. The 462c doesn’t seem to be as well made as the 572xp either but it is a fast cutting saw. I went with 572xp…though had the 500i been out I’d probably went with that at the time.
Always liked the Stihl Top handle saws though…but Husky did make new ones recently.
My Favorite Stihl’s I’ve used are the 150t 201T 461 and 661c. Never tried 500i but it looks impressive for power and weight. Being first of its kind though time will tell more. That magnesium piston just seems like a way to beat Husky on specs not concerned with longevity IMHO.

I’m knew to this world. I bought a husky 445 for home use and ended up owning a firewood company. I agreed to become a vendor for the state. I started getting orders for a couple cords a day and had to up my chainsaw game. So I grabbed the ms-400 because my local dealer didn’t have the Stihl 462 or a husky 562. I took it to the wood yard and my old husky took 30 seconds to cut an oak log and the new one took 5. I know they are different sizes, heck I was routing for my old husky, but man that 400 is an amazing machine. I can cut up a 3 axel truck load in a day with it. Took me a week before. • @ChrisPyle
      @ChrisPyle 4 місяці тому +1

@@Sethhaun78 while I agree with you (I've used both) a 46 inch oak got ripped to shreds today with the 400 and there was no need for a bigger saw. For most other wood, why waste the energy or gas of running it? I'm all about power so I feel you man, but there's a point where enough is enough unless you need so crazy stuff taken care of. I'd say anything bigger than a 25 inch bar and you're 100% right. For everything else? Enjoy the high RPMs the magnesium piston and the light weight.

It's like no improvement in 35 years.
Nor does it outcut in any way the 266 Husky. And the 044 Stihl is in a whole nother arena.
And it's Great to see the 562 is in the chips ! Pulls good for a small saw.
There isn't an oak tree in Alaska so I would be in easier wood.
And the biggest thing is the 562 is available with heated handles and carb !

Much depends on how the owner maintains their saw. Sharp chains? Cleaned up saw? Air filter clean? Do you warm it properly? Pulling and pinning is hard on a cold saw and can cause damage. Bars in good shape? Use a good oil, not the cheapest crap you find. Run non-e fuel if possible. Depending on how much you cut, change fuel, oil filters as needed. Inspect fuel and oil lines at the same time. They will both be reliable for years to come.

I like my 562. It has been modded and has a bit more torque. But sharp chain and chain speed is where Husqvarna shines. I like Sthil saws. My 660 is a beast. I can dog it in and it will run. I have never seen a Husqvarna dogged in the wood that wouldn’t choke out.

Just an add for the Stihl guys on the reset procedure -you actually hold the throttle wide open until it cycles through that same pattern twice is my understanding- the second time it goes full throttle you're fully set. That MAY have been why it stumbled as it was still working on the top side. Just a guess. I advocate guys do that reset daily ideally or at least every 30 degrees shift/seasonally.

One of the great things about living here is that Stihl is being forced to adapt. .063 or as you call it, 1,6mm is a useless gauge and Stihl is really the only manufacturer pushing it in anything under a 32" or even a 36" bar. I own the first 562 first year they came out I own a 400 I 462 Stihl . I own lots of Husqvarna saws I'm a husky man from 1980s . But I love the power to weight ratio from the new stilhs. But I always will be a husky man my dealer sales both brands. And he sales me the husky s a lot cheaper so I will put up with extra weight for now.

ccvscc Husky beats it , matanence low cost husky beats it, downtime husky wins lowest downtime, price husky beats it. Until you use them daily you wont ever change saws the husky is the back country Prof saw for a reason.
