Hello, I hope you enjoyed the video! I'm currently in a much too tight schedule, because I'm writing and (hopefully) soon completing my bachelor thesis and additionally the pre-production has begun again for my short film, which should be shot in April. With all of this stuff going on right now I decided to shoot a more casual style video here, which doesn't take as much time to produce as the scripted content. I'm feeling a little insecure about it, so please share your thoughts - what do you think? Do you like this style of content? Is it a decent possibility to fall back on when in busy times like now? Let me know please! :) Have a good week, Teo
I'm not sure what kind of eyes I have but sometimes I love looking at grainy photos, there is a uniqueness to it maybe it looks so out of time . Old but Gold vibes! Cool photos Teo! 👌
Sweet, thank you! I totally get that! I hope I didn't sound like an Anti-Grainer here, I adore grain! However some of the photos in this episode were just too grainy for my taste🤷🏻♂️ But good to know you still like those nevertheless🙌🏼
The film turned out great! Sometimes 15 year old film is ok when adjusted in Photoshop or similar program when shot at box speed. One tip for you with point and shoot cameras with DX capability: place black electrical tape over the gold contacts inside the camera to force the camera to think the film is 100 ISO. Hope this helps!
Always enjoy your videos and this was no exception (that means it's ok just like the rest). You're very articulate and honest which is good, I'm currently doing a photography masters degree and my fellow students are far less articulate than you are in your videos (hope that helps with the confidence). Carry on you're doing a great job!
7:21 that big circle is the reflection of the flash from the mirror on the wall, you can tell it's from the mirror from the casting of shadow from whats in the pot at the front up against the wall.
I kinda like the photo with the bike, and the first one with the bus stop thing. The bike one is such a daily life thing or something, it's just kinda neat.
Also the snow photo at 12:37 all the grain and imperfections are such an aesthetic! If you're the one taking the photo and it comes out very different from what you want it's often hard to line a pic though (plus I'm kinda into lomography and that kinda stuff lately :p)
Hi, I don´t think the pic with the street and the bike driver ist bad, it shows how it was in this moment at that place,, the perspective is good and it shows some funny small details, its more or less grey but three spots of totally different colours are highlighted. BTW how did you digitize the film strip? Can you explain your workflow to do this, since I am considering myself digitizing my old 35mm negatives.
Ohh sweet, good to know you see some goodness in it - I appreciate your description!🙇🏻♂️ It's very helpful for me to see the photograph from this different perspective so thank you! I only just started myself and am currently doing a DSLR scan. Just search for "35mm film DSLR scanning" on UA-cam and you'll find numerous videos🙌🏼
Hello ! So the specific "grainyness" on these shots is mainly because of the expiration of the film? I really appreciate the whole vibe it gives to the images at the end, as you said, it is quite nostalgic.
This is really cool! I kind of like even the ones that he said are not great. Technically speaking they may be bad photos, but artistically they're great.
I have some 10 year old ISO 200 film, it is called ExtraFilm. I want to use this to shoot at night with flash. What ISO should I set my point and shoot camera? The film was not kept in a fridge.
I have 3 year expired film I want to use in my point and shoot but can decide if i should overexpose it by changing the DX code or just leave it and hope for the best? Any advice
I didn't say allowed (I think?🤔) I was just saying that I will not be showcasing these photos on my Instagram account (because they don't fit my feed and the quality I aim to achieve), therefore I want to show them here :)
@@teocrawford oh I wasn't trying to judge you're rhetoric just was curious if you (currently watching the video as we speak) were doing x games level photos haha, no worries I misunderstood! Also good job on your content you and a couple others have been making me want to jump into film so bad I don't know why im holding back (other than of course reoccurring film and processing cost haha)
No worries haha!🙌🏼 Oh sweet, yeah give it a try. I also held back for quite a while, but it's been super interesting so far to learn this new way of my regular medium :)

Hi, the circle in the photo at 7:38 isn't anything wrong its just the flash light being reflected by the mirror in the background.
So appreciate your authenticity and seeing your images! It’s encouraging to me-thank you!

Ohh what? I didn't expect that hahah. Thanks for the hint!👌🏼
@@teocrawford The shape of the "artefact" and the tiny bit of flash I could see in the mirror gave it away.
Yeah definitely the reflection
Your videos are always a treat, I want to try shooting expired film sometime soon

10:47 Light leek could be from shooting directly into the sun - it's probably a flaw in the shutter design (or it's age).
Hmm ok, interesting - thank you!🙌🏼
Really liked all these shots

hello teo, who did you use as a developer for these photos if you don't mind me asking? thanks! keep up the great work.
I think it makes it look better 😀
Hey! Great video, I love the vibe :)
Sweet, thank you!🤗
The last photo defo looks like one of those instgram film filters with yellowish thingy on the side
Hahah true!

I think it would be better to overexpose it, but at the same time I'd probably be too lazy to change the DX code😅😅😅
@@teocrawford haha thanks for getting back to me

What’s the name of the film
That was DM Actionfilm - DM is a popular drugstore in Germany and Austria and they used to sell their own brand of film :)
