Same. So many of my early favorites become unrelatable with their huge shops, expanding businesses, getting tons of free tools through sponsorships, even bigger shops, etc. Please keep doing what you're doing.

    LOVE IT!
Feel free to come up to NJ and help me turn one bay of my two car garage into a small shop 😂. Between golf clubs, gig equipment (part-time musician), etc. it's a nightmare. One of those "I don't even know where to start" things.

Great job making your shop tour fun! It seems like a lot of shop tour videos end up being like “Blah blah here’s my saw, I use it to cut staff. Here is my glue, I use it to glue stuff… “

You can 3D print replacement fence guide sliders for the Ridgid tablesaws that make it much better, I have the R4520 and the fence is now rock solid, the fence tracks much straighter when unlocked, and when locked is completely immovable. I replaced the two guides in the front, and the clamp guide in the back.

I have piles of cut offs and scraps I cannot get rid of. I used to hoard it so badly that I would spend more time picking up piles that had fallen of scrap than making. Now I open the shop up to local schools/maker groups to come pick through my piles twice a year. In return I ask they make me something cool or donate to their favorite charity. Honestly the first time I did this it was "painful" to see all my favorite scraps go away and I kept wanting to reach out and say "not that piece!" First project I got back was from a guy who had driven almost 2 hours one way wanting to get into woodworking after retiring from the military. He had made this awesome furniture grade mjolnir from the scraps. Now I look forward to seeing what comes from these creatives who can take the scraps and just make beautiful art.

The build wasn’t technically hard, it forced me to learn some new router skills by making a template and going for accuracy. I studied the plans every night for a week before I started. It was a turning point in my development. I was a hack at best before. I learned and grew so much. Ron is a genius.
Big mistake I made was just drawing out the lines and drilling with a 3/4” forsner. If I had to do it again, and I will at some point, I’d get the ujk parf guide and drill 20mm holes. My top is basically useless when it comes to accuracy of an mft. I just have convenient clamp holes that aren’t super accurate in a grid. I didn’t glue the top down so I can replace it.
