I specifically bought an Apple Watch 6 just for the fall detection. I have cerebral palsy and I am ambulatory. Sometimes I fall - especially in icy conditions. I also use the fitness trackers. And I love how my Apple Watch unlocks my MacBook M1 Pro whenever I sit down at my desk. My iPhone is my new favorite camera because I can use the Apple Watch as a camera monitor
Hey Seth, I did too due to a health condition, be careful it may not detect a fall, I did a face plant, managed to get my hands down in time but the watch didn’t go off, I did consider long pressing the button but after a minute lying on my front on the pavement I got up and hobbled home.
One of the most underrated features of the watch is the ability to adjust the volume of anything you're listening to from your iPhone. So, instead of heaving to get your phone out of your pocket or reach for the volume buttons on your phone in your pocket, you can simply scroll the wheel to adjust the volume.
In my opinion, it is only mostly useful for two types of people: 1) The executive/manager 2) The fitness enthusiast I always mocked the Apple Watch. I never liked the idea. Then my employer bought me one, so why not if its free? After 3 months, I lost 10kg because it encouraged me to workout and it made tracking my progress and sticking to my fitness routine a lot easier. Closing the activity rings, hitting the daily calorie goals, and unlocking milestones/rewards can get addictive. I also stopped missing important emails/messages/appointment reminders. The Apple Watch is a lot better with those than the iPhone. It made me a more effective manager. If you are neither of these two, it will not be very useful to you. If you want it for medical purposes, you're better off with a real medical ID/medical alert. If you are buying it to showoff or as a fashion item, there is nothing wrong with that but you will probably not have many uses for it and you might end up regretting spending money on it.
I Had a Series 1 for my birthday and 2 weeks ago I just started using it again and it's working just fine, feels like the software was made this year and not years ago. Works with apple's ecosystem nicely and all new devices I got.
The Blood Oxygen level is very important for people with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. It is a life saver for me. I wanted to exercise and PAH ;Blood Oxygen levels have to be monitored very closely. Don’t forget that this watch is of equal value to older folks.....Thanks
I just recently purchased an Apple Watch for the first time and now don’t know how I lived without one. I do completely agree with you that if you have an iPhone it’s a must to have an Apple Watch. I learned quite a few things from this video, so thank you so much.
I still have the Series 4 and love it! Did you hear the story where a guy was snowed in a cave or something and was found because of his Apple Watch? Cool stuff! I use it for sleep tracking via AutoSleep app and ask to track activity. I live alone and the fall alert was an appealing feature. One time I did fall and it asked if I needed emergency help luckily I just twisted ankle. Good review!

I've been an Apple watch fan for about 5 years and it only gets better and better. It's only off my wrist for about 1 hour a day for charging.. My favorite feature is that when being active as you said you don't need to carry your iPhone, I too have been saved by my apple watch, was biking to work and was HIT by a car that kept on going. My watch alerted by friend of my fall and told him where i was at. also the breathe app is a good one too. great video........thanks ...stay safe and healthy
I ride a motorcycle and always have fall detection turned on. If I am alone or on a back road it will call emergency services for me

My Apple watch is on order from Apple. I expect it to arrive this week. One small but very practical feature of any smart watch, including the Apple watches is the ability to rid one's self of nuisance robocalls without having to lift the phone from the pocket. Additionally I am looking forward to the total integration with the IOS system. Having purchased multiple sport and dress bands will make my Apple watch will feel like having multiple watches in one. Lastly, I ordered Air Pods pro and Air Pods Max to use with my phone. I also ordered the Bose noise canceling buds as some reviews gave them an edge for listening to classical music. At times I do put Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, Leonard Bernstein, and Herbert Von Karajan into my life.
I just purchased my first Apple Watch it’s a 7. Not sure I’m going to keep it. Your video was wonderful as to why you would need one. I got the size 41 but wondering if the larger 45 is easier to read. I do have mind on the bold setting. Also, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to use it. I’ve watch so many beginners videos and they talk and demonstrate so fast that I can’t keep up. I know you have to be thinking well lady take it back. Lol Oh, should I wait for the Series 8. Thanks
Literally had my Apple Watch on Swappa and decided to take it down after watching this. It's easy to forget how much it does and what I would miss when I didn't have it. Gracias sir, very much appreciated!
Plan on buying an SE soon just for fitness tracking and use with Apple Fitness+. I've dropped 35 pounds so far from diet alone, but I finally have the basic equipment at home now so I figured I'd give the service a try. I really don't like going to gyms. I know people are all there to do the same thing, but I always get self conscience and imagine people are laughing at the out of breath portly man running on the treadmill.
I just got an se gen 2 the other week, after years of not seeing the point of smartwatches because I just don’t see the point in regular watches half the time lol. Everytime I’ve had a watch I wear it for a couple of days and then just forget about it. Initially I wanted an Apple Watch because I started going swimming and i have terrible eyesight, so I wanted something to tell me how long I’ve been in the pool/how long I have left lol. I go on a walk everyday and I’m enjoying seeing how far I’ve walked, as well as tracking my sleep to check I’m sleeping well and using the watch as a camera remote and volume remote for my phone. My goals are set pretty low, but it still feels good closing my rings each day lol. I thought I wouldn’t really be bothered about it because my sister had the Apple Watch 3 and didn’t like it - she used none of the fitness features and essentially wanted it in the hopes it could play music, which it couldnt. So it put me off for a while, but since there’s a UA-cam app for the watch I have, I can play background music while I work too so it has everything I want lol. Plus I love all the bands you can get for it, and it’s so comfy to wear in bed
Doctors say Apple Watch single node ECG is not a reliable tool to diagnose heart conditions. Oximeter feature, however, helps detect degree of COVID-19 infections.
I got my first Applewatch last year with the 6. It was my first watch ever, lol. I absolutely love it. I use it for temperature, time, and dates all the time. I also use it to control Spotify. ------------ I turned off the activity rings within the first month. I'm sure those are useful for some folks, but they're not really my dive. I dance to my own beat, and I don't really enjoy the AppleWatch throwing in its opinions every so often, lol! I get all my exercise through biking, and the weather/temps do a great job letting me know when it's good to be out.
i brought apple watch series 3 2 yrs ago. wore it a few times but didn't like it. and eventually sold it. but maybe start on getting another one again?

Just got my very first Apple Watch and absolutely love it! I got the 44 mm Apple Watch SE (GPS only). If Apple continues to put out some sort of current “budget” option I’ll probably continue buying them...Don’t love it enough to pay more than $300 for one lol 😂
Same. I bought the same one, se 44mm (gps only ) no need for all those extra features, this Apple Watch does it for me, besides telling time and notifications, I enjoy using the activity tracker. 300$ and below is around my price range when ever I upgrade to a newer one in the future.
I am getting my Apple Watch SE 40 cm, in Silver. anytime after tomorrow. I am so excited!!! I have a question: so basically i am 12 years old, I go to 6th grade and we aren’t allowed to use our phones in school so it’s Hard to see when class starts or ends. Do you think the watch is worth it? Because I would also use it to: listen to music with my AirPods, work out, ect...
I am planning to get the 7, so if you can go through a list of ways about how it can be used, and which features require a cellular plan, it would be very much appreciated. Subscribed!
It's interesting that you haven't mentioned how long the battery last (or at least I haven't noticed). I suppose in your life-style you can charge it as often as your phone (or once in two days), but that may not be the case for people who work standing or walking the entire shift (such as construction sites, maintenance etc.). As a user of Garmin products (VivoActive 3) I am spoiled to 1 week worth of charger autonomy, which in case of a wrist wearable for active life style is crucial IMHO. I congratulate you on your results, health deserves to be taken care of through recreation. Those are more or less the same reasons for which I got a smart wearable, too.
I am waiting for my Apple Watch 6 right now and I just googled what I have to do when I have lower heartbeat to raise it up again and I realized that so many things are missing, for example more activity. Now I am even more curious about my heart rate in different moments

Thanks for the informative video as always! Do you recommend an apple watch series 1 still? It's much cheaper to buy a used series 1 on eBay, and I was wondering if it's still worth considering.
It’s a bit late, but I would not recommend getting the series one anymore, I had one, and I bought it off eBay and the screen fell out of its case after two months, it was never dropped or anything, it just got old
Hope Series 7 will be glucose monitoring with better battery back and will be new design . Will wait till 17th , sept 21 . I had series 1 discontinued due to battery eating very fast … need to carry charger all the time . Now using Huawei GT 2 since one and half year … happy with it . 2 weeks battery life . Purchased iPhone 12 Pro just few days back .. will go for apple series 7 if fast charging, better battery back up and Glucose monitoring .
I was never a watch guy. But I plan on getting one now for the health features. I am very active physically and Checking 02 levels, heart rate & heart irregularities really interests me. I was about to buy the series 6 nike edition... but then i heard rumors that the series 7 may include a glucose monitor as well. It may also have a design change & larger battery. I don’t care about the design change, but the other two features would be welcome. I just don’t know if i should wait.
I have had the series 4 since it came out and even though I only really use it for time/date and notifications, it also shows me temperature and wind speed. It sounds like very little but I cant go without. Pro tip: If you don’t think you need an apple watch, go buy a regular watch, just telling the time by not having to take your phone out of your pocket is invaluable 👌 Long story short, having the time of day on your wrist is absolutely perfect, the rest is not necessary but becomes very very handy pretty soon!
@@manishthakur6908 If you just wanna tell the time, you should invest the money in a good watch. $400 can get you a really nice timepiece, that can hold it’s value better than a smart watch. It’s jewelry in the end, in my opinion.
Battery... Battery and Battery back up, till that's taken care of, it's all talk from Apple and nothing else. Even a mere $140 watch gives 10-14 days of battery backup with most of the functionalities that the Apple watch offers. On the other hand, how long does the Apple watch run on a charge? Half a day... One day?
I’m still waiting for the square redesign, before that, I won’t be upgrading from my series 4. If they’re not doing a redesign then I’m waiting for better battery life or a blood pressure sensor

If you’re new to smart watches or on a budget you should shoot for the Apple Watch SE. Has all you need on that bad boy for a competitive price tag 🧋
I agree, I bought the Apple Watch se 44mm gps only, awesome budget smart watch
Doctors say Apple Watch single node ECG is not a reliable tool to diagnose heart conditions. Oximeter feature, however, helps detect degree of COVID-19 infections.
I got my first Applewatch last year with the 6. It was my first watch ever, lol.
I absolutely love it. I use it for temperature, time, and dates all the time. I also use it to control Spotify.

I turned off the activity rings within the first month.
Just got the seres 6 today. Now I’m watching these videos
thanks. This senior chick loves learning from you. thanks a lot Greg. I haven't gotten an apple watch yet. I'm scared of having it against my body all day. What's it called emf. (?????). I would love to know how many steps I am logging.
Needs and wants are two different things. Especially for materialistic items.
With Covid the pulse/ox is very helpful.

Apple 3 series watch worth it in 2021 pls tell me
Just picked up a series 5 stainless steel new for $300 off at best buy this week. Almost the same price as the aluminum cellular se. definitely happy with my purchase.
not a fan of wearing watches since childhood but i think this watch deserves a try
dose Spotify work on Apple Watch?
Just got my very first Apple Watch and absolutely love it! I got the 44 mm Apple Watch SE (GPS only). If Apple continues to put out some sort of current “budget” option I’ll probably continue buying them...Don’t love it enough to pay more than $300 for one lol 😂
Same. I bought the same one, se 44mm (gps only ) no need for all those extra features, this Apple Watch does it for me, besides telling time and notifications, I enjoy using the activity tracker. 300$ and below is around my price range when ever I upgrade to a newer one in the future.
Hey Greg where did you get your wallpaper
I am getting my Apple Watch SE 40 cm, in Silver. anytime after tomorrow. I am so excited!!! I have a question: so basically i am 12 years old, I go to 6th grade and we aren’t allowed to use our phones in school so it’s Hard to see when class starts or ends. Do you think the watch is worth it? Because I would also use it to: listen to music with my AirPods, work out, ect...
Absolutely!
@@Queeshandle I got it :) I made and unboxing video in maybe u can check it out?
Should I buy AWS6 or wait for upcoming (SEPT 2021) AWS7?
Hi , what are the two display themes ( complications) named in the video icon? The one with the Roman numerals and the horizon background, thank you.
Thank you Greg. You are concise and clear with your explanation with 'bubbling' over with excitement about the feature set the Apple watch offers.
I am planning to get the 7, so if you can go through a list of ways about how it can be used, and which features require a cellular plan, it would be very much appreciated. Subscribed!
Please do this video. Just a simple video of what to use on your watch for newbies..
The battery life is usually about 18 hours for one charge, depending on your use case
alternatively, you can buy a fitbit for less, get most of the same features, and use it with both iphone and android
I am waiting for my Apple Watch 6 right now and I just googled what I have to do when I have lower heartbeat to raise it up again and I realized that so many things are missing, for example more activity. Now I am even more curious about my heart rate in different moments
I didn't realize the series 6 offered blood oxygen measurement --SOLD! Great video review and fun channel. Thanks!
Thank you 🙏 Glad you found the info helpful!
My Huawei band 6 does it for 40€/45$ but ok
Good information. What is the battery life like for a full day? I am considering the new 7 series if it has the blood sugar monitor on it.

I have a series 2 and still don’t feel the need to upgrade. The fall detector would be nice and the oxygen monitor would be useful but nothing really essential to upgrade and the battery is still almost two days for me.
Just bought the Aw3 at a cheap price. It’s wonderful! Very pleased with it as it’s my first Apple Watch.
Im waiting for the new one for glucose never had one before

Thanks for the informative video as always! Do you recommend an apple watch series 1 still? It's much cheaper to buy a used series 1 on eBay, and I was wondering if it's still worth considering.
It’s a bit late, but I would not recommend getting the series one anymore, I had one, and I bought it off eBay and the screen fell out of its case after two months, it was never dropped or anything, it just got old
You convinced me, Greg :) I'm getting one in September. Also love the new design with the flat edges! Only downside: September is so far away! :(
You will buy which one?
Hope Series 7 will be glucose monitoring with better battery back and will be new design . Will wait till 17th , sept 21 . I had series 1 discontinued due to battery eating very fast … need to carry charger all the time . Now using Huawei GT 2 since one and half year … happy with it . 2 weeks battery life . Purchased iPhone 12 Pro just few days back .. will go for apple series 7 if fast charging, better battery back up and Glucose monitoring .
Glucose monitoring? How would that work?
I was never a watch guy. But I plan on getting one now for the health features. I am very active physically and Checking 02 levels, heart rate & heart irregularities really interests me. I was about to buy the series 6 nike edition... but then i heard rumors that the series 7 may include a glucose monitor as well. It may also have a design change & larger battery. I don’t care about the design change, but the other two features would be welcome. I just don’t know if i should wait.
I would be so amazed at the glucose monitor because I've only seen monitors that need access to your blood!
I never look at mine . The only thing I really use it for is tracking my steps . It’s a great device but a Fitbit would be just as good .
then you're not using it to its fullest potential
I want that solo loop
Check the link in my description for a cheaper alternative for like $16. It’s not as good as the $100 version, but gets close.
Will Apple 7 be something other than a circle?
What sucks is that since I’m under 18, I dont even have access to the ECG and Blood Oxygen app. But overall a great watch
Same but I got series 6 for red cuz it was on sale
I upgraded from an apple watch series 3 to an se.
I have had the series 4 since it came out and even though I only really use it for time/date and notifications, it also shows me temperature and wind speed. It sounds like very little but I cant go without.
Pro tip: If you don’t think you need an apple watch, go buy a regular watch, just telling the time by not having to take your phone out of your pocket is invaluable 👌
Long story short, having the time of day on your wrist is absolutely perfect, the rest is not necessary but becomes very very handy pretty soon!
So what you suggest buy or not?
@@manishthakur6908 If you just wanna tell the time, you should invest the money in a good watch. $400 can get you a really nice timepiece, that can hold it’s value better than a smart watch. It’s jewelry in the end, in my opinion.
Battery... Battery and Battery back up, till that's taken care of, it's all talk from Apple and nothing else. Even a mere $140 watch gives 10-14 days of battery backup with most of the functionalities that the Apple watch offers. On the other hand, how long does the Apple watch run on a charge? Half a day... One day?
actually, best to wait for the series 7, as the watch hasn’t been upgraded in a while and will probs come out in september
Do you have a video on how I can customize it? Maybe Pokémon style?
Just replaced my Series 3 with an SE....very happy.
I’m still waiting for the square redesign, before that, I won’t be upgrading from my series 4. If they’re not doing a redesign then I’m waiting for better battery life or a blood pressure sensor
