Absolutely... the original is SO awesome, as is every song from that album. Have you ever heard the 1989 version of "Round Here" done by Adam's previous band? It's on here somewhere. It's HEAVY compared to the August version.
The bright orange zinnia I picked for Adam, it took me hours in my garden searching for the perfect flower. When I gave it to him I told him ‘I brought you some sunshine.’ Thank you for the stories you tell. I wanted you-to sweep me off my feet that day I met you
Everyone clapping like this was a Natalie Merchant concert. What is up with that. This performance brought a tear to my eye just watching on UA-cam with how good it was. Like, this rocked on so many levels. If I was there in person, I would have been screaming so loud at the end, I would have lost my voice. So much energy and such a great conclusion to this show. These fans need some coffee.
@richardbosco4918 I got tickets for the Milwaukee show July of '24... My 1st Crow show... For the bucket list. I was at July '95 Soldier Field Grateful Dead, Jerry's last show.

I met him in June/July of 93 n we hung out. He showed me his lyric journal. He asked me out n i declined cause i had a boyfriend.. Who ended up cheating on me. 😪 His songs resonate with me so hard... I think about a hill i grew up on that i told him about.. Walking up on the hilltop n looking out n seeing for miles. I told him that it was one my favorite places. I had a picture of my dad on my dresser n i remember telling him i loved my dad n he was a cool dad. I told him 'he looks like Elvis huh!' 'I think he is handsome' Then i told him i wanted to be a dancer... I did not connect as to how my dad would feel about that. I just wanted to draw pictures with him. There was a band my gf knew of called Show n Tell. I wanted to draw the cover art for it. I had gone to Ocean City Artstore there by the beach n this was where i met him. I asked him if he wanted to draw with me. He just seemed like a cool dude. A cool cat if you will. So he obliged n we went walkin on by the beach to go draw. He left n came back with his journal. I liked it. I remember a satellite dish drawing he had in it. His music would be broadcasted all over the globe. He told me about his band Counting Crows. I often wonder what would have happened had i gone with him n left my cheating boyfriend behind. 'All your life is just a dream dream dream' I couldnt believe it when i saw him on tv in the Mr Jones video. I screamed! 'I know him!'😍 I was only 18 when i met him at the end of June 1993 right after i graduated highschool. I declined a date with him but thought he was one of the coolest nicest n intrinsic guys i have ever met. He used his lyric journal as the album cover and he titled it 'August and Everything After' Like an 'i will show you' is what i think. Well he sure did. He very much did. He did an amazing Show n Tell. I would love to get to talk to him again.
Thankyou! Sending out some love to you! Praying for peace. Thankyou for reading. Everyone matters here. We gotta stop a war. Do whatever you can to share the love n the stories of you n who n what you are. Big Heart Energy. Sit up on the hillside with me. See the peace up ahead in the distance? Feel it ... We can sled ride down if you want.
God I love this! Seen them recently and still brilliant but they haven't the energy they had back then Every word of every song he writes means something too. He doesn't waste a thing...
Is there a more unlikely great frontman in rock than Adam Duritz? Just a pudgy Jewish white guy with dread extensions that is absolutely mesmerizing on stage and has been for 30+ years. Talk about not being able to judge a book by its cover!
What happened to. "I'll walk alone these hillsides, The summer need the sunshine, I am feathered by the moonlight" session. I was looking forward to that
It’s actually “I will walk along these hillsides, in the summer ‘neath the sunshine” (as in beneath the sunshine). But you’re right Casper, I always looked forward to that part too but they always changed it up live. They rarely do this song live anymore. They were never able to play this song live as great as it is on the album. Great album closer 👍

Hey, How are you? Saw you were a fan of this awesome music and thought you might dig my original songs. Mind checking out my channel and letting me know what you think? Hope you enjoy! -Matt MacKelcan
I, for one, love the uniqueness they spin into every one of their live performances. If you want listen to the original, go listen to the original. People should go to live shows to hear something new. Not the same overpolished recorded bs you can play anytime in your living room.
Crows sound like shit live because his vocals are all over the place. Its not that the guy cant sing, its just he never sticks to the melody that was on the record. Ever. I saw them once and the guitars weren’t even in tune alot of the show.
Just found this. The Counting Crows aren't my favorite band but I love his passion and I like their music. Look at videos on UA-cam and most artist are just following choreographed moves, concert after concert. It looks a little fake. I'll take a chance and see a great show like this. Emotion in the moment. You go where the music takes you!!! Just watch his version the "Rain King/Thunder Road"" from Pawtucket. It's a roll of the dice and that's what music is all about. This video just changed my whole mood today.
Who ever thought they would hear about Doris Day again? Adam is a talented performer. It's like he feels it with his whole body.
❤ When he says "I'm hanging on..".❤. Quote from U2 Red Hill Mining Town
How many bands have three guitarists that can wail like these guys. Absolutely stunning musicianship!
Not many, but Foo Fighters is one of them
@@masonromero8680 Fun fact, Gil Norton who produced the Counting Crows's second album, also produced the Foo Fighters's second album
Iron maiden
Funny how the cc praise butter as their best talent. Slamming Norton.
Call me crazy, but Bryson is my favorite - he's the foundation that Dan and Immy build off of!
Such an underrated song - my fav of their 1st album.
mine too
After Round here but their 1st album is my fav.

Same
Never heard two Telecasters trade wailing licks like this before. Epic performance!
That part where the crowd screams “Counting Crows” gives me goosebumps everytime!
They hit with the Gin Blossoms. Loved the early 1990s. My son was just a kid in grade school. Could we please go back in time?
To the 80s tho❤
Yay! Sordid Humor!
Two great songs mashed up. Love it.
@4:58 I just thought "wow that guitar sounds very U2" and then they do a "Red Hill Mining Town" snippet!!! 😍
I think this is the best version ever.... Adam rules
The bright orange zinnia I picked for Adam, it took me hours in my garden searching for the perfect flower. When I gave it to him I told him ‘I brought you some sunshine.’ Thank you for the stories you tell. I wanted you-to sweep me off my feet that day I met you
i always thought the lyric was “there’s a perfectness inside you”, but its “theres a bird that nests inside of you”. both are beautiful.
I thought the same thing!
Music is god speaking to man, and him calling it back.... you found your lyric to speak to god.
Ha, me too
He sings the stuff in my head and heart. Change! Change! Change! You don’t want to waist your life.
I would kill to have this man's stage presence! He rivals even Meatloaf with how much of himself he leaves on the stage...
He is such an emotional singer. He should be an actor too.
Those guitars are wailing, and they are awesome
I love these guy. 90’s music is the best. Better then 70s or 80’s. It the best of both. It was perfect for my life.
Each decade is great in its own way.
Fantastic song, my favourite performance of it, the musicianship builds it beautifully and then the voice, bliss.
Blimey! You boys are from a far better planet. A bit like us humans but lightyears ahead ❤
The crunch and tone of the Tele is what makes the song!
Good wishes from England as a 70 year old who can still enjoy great music
Pretty groovy in 2024! Much love from MS ✌️
Possibly the only band that would get me over the “it’s a whole lot to people-Ly out there” to a live concert
Thank you for your service, Sir Adam Duritz.
Once i interview Adam, a moment i never forget
love how he quotes red hill mining town by u2

Adam doing a bit of U2 there, I would dream to see Counting Crows and U2 in concert together.
Why? U2 is lame as fuck.
John Grohs I think that they opened for U2 back in the day, but I’m not 100% sure
LRO1986 true
it helps that dan vickery really, REALLY plays like the edge.
U2 lack the integrity or ability of Counting Crows.

Adam has gotta ditch this stutter delivery. Its a live performance cliché n he's gotta bad case of it.
That has to be the "gayest" remake of Doris Day I have ever heard. OMG, is that bad!! Go UA-cam the real song by Sorid Humor.
