I'm so, so happy for you Mason! That bike looks and sounds so amazing. You deserve it brother. I can't wait to see how you mold it into your own custom adventure machine. The excitement is overwhelming and I'm not even the guy with the new bike.
I’ve been watching your videos occasionally for about a year, and always enjoyed them. But I always wondered if and when you were ever going to get a different bike. You seemed so into that KLR that I had to wonder if you even knew that other ADV bikes existed! So my mouth literally dropped open when I saw the notification from your channel this morning! I’m really glad for you. I had a good condition 1st gen KLR up until recently that I really liked.
Mason, Sean, box of chocolates, and I are doing the MABDR. Meeting up in Damascus Virginia in two weeks. You should run down and join us. Would be a great get to know ya trip for you and the desert x.
congrats. I swithced to a T7 couple summers ago and love it. 30k km still smiling. The desert x is even better by the looks of the reviews. Riding season coming soon but not soon enough
I was dead set on getting this when it first came out. They weren’t easy to find in the dealers and I ended up with the Triumph 1200 Tiger Rally Explorer. It’s a great bike but I wish I had the money for this too.
Love it! “Oh hey guys Mason here…….hahahahaha” 👍🏻 Awesome man! You’re going to have to create a newer intro now….doh! Love that exhaust note when you open her up.
Oh WOW! Beautiful bike, congrats Mason, I’m so happy for you and excited to see the new adventures unfold. Loved seing and hearing your initial reactions, and your giggles of disbelief, lol. So I just took a quick look at the Desert X specs… man you’re going to have so much fun taming that beast! Cheers!
Congrats, had a new bike day myself this year, looking forward to seeing more of the Desert X. I would say enjoy, but I can hear in your voice that you do.
Happy for you Mason. I went from my 2012 KLR to a 2017 Africa Twin and it was a huge improvement. I can't even imagine the difference you're going to notice with that bike. Enjoy every second of it.
Congrats buddy! That is awesome and you deserve it. I am looking forward to future adventures on that beast. I do tend to agree that I think you will find that you wont want to change much. I am sure there will be bits and bobs to make it yours but overall "if it aint broke dont fix it!"
Mason, congrats on the Desert X. I live in Toronto so from an adventure rider perspective we're basically neighbours. I'm planning on getting the Desert X as well and it's first big trip will be to Alaska. I plan on adding the auxiliary tank option. Do you think your Mosko Moto 80 rackless system would work with the auxiliary tank?
Cousos Brother in tube land. I know you will send out awsome content!!! Be safe with that added "boost" or power on demand as you call it. I had a klr as well, switched to tiger 850 for more oomhp on t he highway.....
Congratulations…!!! A good friend of mine has one and absolutely loves it…. Corners in the twisties like a sports bike and off road it plows through rough terrain like a tank.
You've got more self control than me Mason. You actually finished a build before buying a new bike. Beautiful bike you got there! Can't wait for the next adventures!
What do you think of the tires? I know not as chunky as the tkc80. I just ordered the scorpions for my mt07. I live on a dirt road and enjoy fire roads. I'm hoping they do the trick. I was pushing my luck on the factory slicks. Great video's keep em coming! Ride safe my friend.
I wondered when we would have to start a whole new conversation🤗 Does feel a little unfaithful though…but we’ll get over it. What is the disposition of your KLR? Have my 2013 KLR for sale now, having bought a 2022 Tiger 850 Sport 5K kms ago. But starting to wonder if I made a big mistake. That is to say that I am loving this ride so much that I am wondering about the virtues of the Tiger 1200 now. It’s all good!! Here is a tip re a possible start on your upcoming farkleization of the X: I ordered a Sargent Saddle for the Tiger and it is worth every dollar. And a great company to deal with….. responsive and proactive. Enjoy 🥳
CONGRATs Mr. Mason.! Hey did you hear... someone was talking about You & your Desert X in "Critter_moto" 1st LiveStream. Do you want me to go back, fast-forward thought his video and find the time that was at for you to go check-it-out.? 🙂 I think you should come to his MotoStream this Friday March 3rd at 6pm PST (9pm Ontario time) to tell us more about your New Bike.!
You are definitely giving me the bug! I absolutely love my new GEN 3 KLR though. Be sure to give it a proper “break in”. Love it! Thanks for sharing. 👍
Congratulations such a nice motorcycle.. unfortunately when I purchased my 1290 KTM superduke r Apex cycle was Way overpriced compared to other dealers..as in 5 k more..just my 2 cents.. Also was it 20k? Out the door or more..again congratulations cool ride...
2 years ago I sold my 2010 Gen II KLR and took my 2002 Triumph 955i Sprint RS down to the dealer and traded it on a Tiger 900 GT pro. I think I know exactly how you feel !
Awesome bike, and Good on You. This bike is exciting! Looking forward to the new adventures. Very cool of you to through in the odd KLR comparison. Don't go leaving Melon1 behind on the motorways ;)
Congratulations on the new bike. New bike day is the best! I had a look at one the other day and the build quality is incredible., but you need a proper bash plate before you get too off-road. I am looking for my own KLR replacement so am keen to see what you do with the Desert X.
SHIFT Her, so glad to see you're still alive.! Any chance you might post a Fresh New MotoVid Sis.? Even just a simple-one to show others you are still active on UA-cam.? According to my end, you last video was over 5-years ago. BTW: I have an INVITE for both You and MasonADV too. Ask me if you want the details.
Pure sex, silk and sugar!! What an awesome machine! I've owned a Duc Supersport in the past...they are works of art .lol....self cancelling turn signals is sweet! Congrats!
It is odd as I find the Ducati to be ugly as sin and not nearly as nice looking as the KLR. It is rare for an Italian bike or car to be ugly to my eye, this this Ducati is ugly to me. Part of it may be the plain white paint, but those headlights look goofy to me also. I am sure it will run circles around the KLR though as almost any bike designed since 2000 will do that. 😂
It really is a case of love it or hate it :) I think the 90's Dakar look resonates with a group of us but I totally understand your point of view. I never thought I'd own a low-front fender bike 😄
@@masonsadv Yes, looks are highly personal. Many don’t like the KLR, but I think the Gen 2 and later are very nicely styled bikes. I didn’t care so much for the Gen 1.
Man, that Desert X is one fine looking machine! Congratulations!
Congrats on the Desert X Mason. Everything I've seen, its a great dual sport bike.
Always good to see Old Mason.
Super nice, just bought my first adventure bike, 2017 Honda CRF250L Rally, so much fun. Way different experience than my sportbike.
I'm so, so happy for you Mason! That bike looks and sounds so amazing. You deserve it brother. I can't wait to see how you mold it into your own custom adventure machine. The excitement is overwhelming and I'm not even the guy with the new bike.
Felicitaciones!!! Que belleza de moto ! Soñada por muchos …sin duda una maravilla !! Y lo mejor es que en off ROAD se comporta como una campeona !!
The sound of that bike makes me smile. My goodness. Congrats Mason. What a sweet ride.
Congratulations with the dessert X please compare suspension to put the cogent in prospective
Glad you are enjoying the new bike!
Brother, I just added a '23 Dedert X t o the stable, as well. Awesome machine!!
That must have removable rubber peg inserts like the T7? Sure is nice looking!
I’ve been watching your videos occasionally for about a year, and always enjoyed them. But I always wondered if and when you were ever going to get a different bike. What other bikes made your short list ?
Looking forward to your new Ducati Adv vids!
Congrats Menso

CONGRATULATIONS !!
R.I.P KLR
What happen? Where has Mason been?
I wonder the same
congrats. I swithced to a T7 couple summers ago and love it. 30k km still smiling. The desert x is even better by the looks of the reviews. Riding season coming soon but not soon enough

Looking forward to 7 new years of building.. Congratulation sir🇳🇴☕
Congrats new Ducatisti ,,no bike will ever compare
Love it! “Oh hey guys Mason here…….hahahahaha” 👍🏻
Awesome man!
You’re going to have to create a newer intro now….doh!
Love that exhaust note when you open her up.
Congrats on the new ride, Mason, and thx for sharing ! Look fwd to the ‘new adventures’ !! 👍🏽
This means new content.... Yay !! 👍👍
Cheers!
I tried a DesertX at Overland Expo. Loved it!!!
What a beauty!!!
Good time to get it. Gives you all winter to get it dirt ready.
Congrats, had a new bike day myself this year, looking forward to seeing more of the Desert X. I would say enjoy, but I can hear in your voice that you do.
Wow!!!! What a Beautiful bike!!!! Congratulations Mason!!!!!!😃😃😃😃
Wow. congrats! That bike looks incredible.
Congratulations 🎊 New bike 🏍
Nice 👍. First mod I suggest get rid of the rubber off the foot pegs.
Happy for you Mason. I went from my 2012 KLR to a 2017 Africa Twin and it was a huge improvement. I can't even imagine the difference you're going to notice with that bike. Enjoy every second of it.
Congrats on the new bike!
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with this one over the next seven years!
Congrats buddy! That is awesome and you deserve it. I am looking forward to future adventures on that beast. I do tend to agree that I think you will find that you wont want to change much. I am sure there will be bits and bobs to make it yours but overall "if it aint broke dont fix it!"

Congrats, awesome bike!
Congratulations…!!!
A good friend of mine has one and absolutely loves it….
Corners in the twisties like a sports bike and off road it plows through rough terrain like a tank.
Right on! It's incredibly stable and so far shows no weaknesses in the rideability. More miles and varied terrain will tell the tale ;)
With all the great bike at dealer, tough choice. Awesome bike!!.
Sat on one at local dealer great fit
It was a tough choice but I'm happy with it, David :) Cheers!
You've got more self control than me Mason. You actually finished a build before buying a new bike. Beautiful bike you got there! Can't wait for the next adventures!
Haha, It's nice to complete one but honestly I couldn't make up my mind on the "next bike" 😆
Congratulations Mason, can't wait to see the mods, and add one.
Again, Congratulations Mason. What in the heck will you do with 70 extra ponies? lol. And you never mentioned a 6th gear !! Totally awesome - Enjoy.
Interesting how twisting the throttle makes the screen go blank.🤔
I wondered when we would have to start a whole new conversation🤗 Does feel a little unfaithful though…but we’ll get over it.

Less is more when it comes to ADV. Lighter than a Tenere 700. 100 lbs lighter than an Africa twin!

☕️ Congratulations, very nice. If Old Mason likes it then it's a keeper. Looking forward to new adventures, it's going to be fun.
Thanks Steve! Was back down to Old Masons yesterday for another great ride together. I think we have to be running out of days like this ;) Cheers!
Cool man 😊
Congrats. Sounds great when you wind her out a bit. Look forward to the mods and adventures with her in the future.
You and me both! Cheers :)
You are definitely giving me the bug! I absolutely love my new GEN 3 KLR though.
Be sure to give it a proper “break in”.
Love it! Thanks for sharing. 👍
Cheers Eric :) Break-in complete...
Congrats ! It will be interesting to hear how it compares to everything else you have ridden !
Ha! Peter sold me my Tenere. Such a small world!
Yes it is :) Great spot to buy a bike. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Congrats Mason! Nice ride. She's no KLR, but very nice 😉
Bring on the build!!!!
Cheers Colton :) It will give me something to do this winter ;)
Congrats man! She sure is pretty
It really is! I know its subjective but I love the retro Dakar look ;)
Very cool channel! Nice bike. New follower here. Crow✌️
2 years ago I sold my 2010 Gen II KLR and took my 2002 Triumph 955i Sprint RS down to the dealer and traded it on a Tiger 900 GT pro. I think I know exactly how you feel !
Yes, I think you do ;) Cheers Mike!
Now you'll need to do ALL those trips over again to compare the two :)
Beautiful bike.
Congrats! now the question? soft panniers or Reckless 80?
That sounds like a lot of wind buffet on your helmet, how tall are you?
Mason... i really love how you customized the klr gen 2... so why preferr the ducati before than the klr gen3 ??? ... fun rides... from.Honduras
red start at 10k rpm?! holy s!
Wow, nice bike. I_want_one!
Beautiful bike. I'm curious to hear your opinion about the maintenance. Ducati's usually are not very self-maintenance friendly.
Awesome bike, and Good on You. This bike is exciting! Looking forward to the new adventures. Very cool of you to through in the odd KLR comparison. Don't go leaving Melon1 behind on the motorways ;)
Ha, He is looking at bikes now too ;)
@@masonsadv Good on him. Much like you with the KLR, Melon1 has done the CRF proud.
Congratulations on the new bike. New bike day is the best! I had a look at one the other day and the build quality is incredible., but you need a proper bash plate before you get too off-road. I am looking for my own KLR replacement so am keen to see what you do with the Desert X.
Thanks Drew! Yes, I'm still waiting for the crash protection I ordered with the bike so I have defiantly been a bit timid off road so far, lol.
When can we expect a run through of what the consists of?
Likely soon David, but there are so many great 'Stat vids' on the Desert X that I may spend more time on real feel.
Do the turn signals cancel automatically?
Is there any feeling better than that first ride on your new bike? If there is bottle it I’ll buy it….
Too right Jim ;) It does light a fire and get you out riding ;)
I think old mason might be sneaking out for a ride on that if you don't watch it 😜
Haha, I think you may be right ;)
SHIFT Her, so glad to see you're still alive.! Any chance you might post a Fresh New MotoVid Sis.?

It looks nice but I'll stick with my 2015 KLR for 1/4th the price and 1/10th the maintenance costs
Pure sex, silk and sugar!! What an awesome machine! I've owned a Duc Supersport in the past...they are works of art .lol....self cancelling turn signals is sweet! Congrats!
I kind of feel like I'm cheating on KLR just watching this..........
I know... The KLR is watching me gear up here for a ride... ;)
@@masonsadv :)

I have nothing against Duc's but this thing is massively overpriced. And even a concept of taking a Ducati offroad.. eh...
