I have Candy Blue and agree somewhat on tuners, although mine stays in tune quite well to be honest (if you don't use the bar of course, ha). One thing I was stunned & totally floored by . . . the pickup!! I would never change it out! My current lineup: Jackson USA Rhoads (Seymour Duncan JB & SH), Ibanez Prestige S, Fender USA strat (custom shop Fat 50'), Les Paul standard, BC Rich custom shop Gunslinger (Dimarzio Super Distortion & 30th Anniv. PAF) and an ESP Bela Lugosi (single EMG 81) and still VERY proud of my $179 Baretta Special, it's tone and that beautifully cut powder smooth maple neck very reminiscent of my Ibanez (I went with the solid maple vs rosewood top). Being 100% honest, the sustain on my Kramer exceeds my $3400 Les Paul by a pretty decent margin, amazing!

Wow man that's quite the arsenal you have there!!
Yeah, the pups are honestly very good, I still have them, and keep them for a future project!
And honestly i think I'm getting myself another Kramer, maybe the beretta with floyd rose...

It’s not your tuners it’s the nut, cut it properly. It’s not the volume knob you have to remove the treble bleed cap. It’s cool you got the new gear but wasn’t necessary.

  • @FullTekAuto

Out of all the pickups I played through my favorite by a mile was the EVH Wolfgang pups so I would probably put that or a Extra dirty TV Jones. The TV Jones has the advantage of a perfect clean twang tone, I love Van Halen and ZZ top
So I would probably put a TV Jones, good value locking tuners, a nicer trem and bridge with a piezo.

I also want to mod a Baretta special with a SD Black Winter Humbucker but there are two versions of it, one is a Tremolo version and one a normal version. A slanted pickup is slanted to give a normal pickup the string spacing of a tremolo so I guessed I need the normal spaced one and you confirmed it with the Invader wich has the normal pickup dimensions so I buy that one.

Well, imo i think that there´s much more bass and ¨body¨ in the SD take, this doesn't mean that its better or worse, just a matter of taste, to be honest that ¨bassy¨ tone was what i was looking for, for this project.
