    I received a brand new one yesterday and did what you suggested and compared the wiring and it's exactly the same as yours. The volume knob was completely useless until I snipped out the "transformer" thingy haha.
    Not only does the volume knob work 1 - 10, the pickup sounded better.
    After spending 30 minutes setting up the guitar I have great tuning stability like Steve from Boston.
    The playability and pickup are great. The best 179.00 bucks I have ever spent.
    The hype on this guitar is real.

      Same wiring, and same problem here with the volume knob until I removed the solenoid har har. Just replaced the thin 36mm stock zinc tr'molo block with a 40mm full width brass one so I could get a pop-in tr'molo arm. Otherwise I don't think the thing needs any upgrades, what a great guitar!

    You are correct it is a capacitor however this particular capacitor holds back the energy flow thus why people are saying resistor. For some odd reason on these guitars the output is increased and you have much better volume fade when you cut these out. Once this capacitor is charged it resists energy flow. It's almost like the stored energy is not usable. Very odd indeed. Thanks for the awesome video!

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Рік тому

      all capasitors hold back power nothing new there and a resistor resists current according to its ohms rating and voltage going thru it , and yes the energy in the cap once charged it usable for sure you just have to under stand electrionics in order to know how the parts all work

    I have the same guitar, my girlfriend loved the color and bought it for my birthday, same finish. Really like the neck and frets and the fret job was awesome out of the box, no fret sprout whatsoever. Decided the tuners had to go, bought a set of Hipshot locking tuners with the two little mounting plates. Changed out the nut for a Graphtech, made a choice to change out the bridge and tremolo setup for something from GuitarFetish tho it wasn’t necessary, the original pickup was fine as well however I ordered a Slick Rocker 4 conductor pickup since I was ordering at GFS anyways. Replaced the wiring and the electronics and Jack. As you can tell I got carried away with mods once I got started, but I don’t regret it one bit. The guitar out of the box cost about $300 and with a little under $300 in replacement parts I have a guitar that is worth far more than I put into it and it’s a sentimental one, the neck and body alone were worth the $300 entry price tags alone….$300 Canadian shipped to my door that is. Well satisfied!

Il have to order in a pickup ring in metal to change it out ..i think the back covers tho can be left alone even tho they are plastic

    Using the vibrato frequently is what will loosen the tuner nuts. You increasing and releasing tension it is similar to loosening the nut with a wrench in micro movements.

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Рік тому

      well your wronge about that for sure the trem as no bearing on the nuts and washers going loose , what does make it happen is called humidy chages in the seasons do that wood moves and shifts all the time shrinks and expands there for guess what happens nuts and washer go loose on you not to mention your guitar could be 100% in tune when you put it away but next time you grab it its out here and there all guitars are subject to this stuff not to mention with the change of seasons you need to also adjust the neck as well from time to time.. this is part of owing a guitar and the more expensive the guitar the more this stuff happens as higher end guitars are alot more sensitive to changes in weather

      @bluwng Рік тому +2

      @@KevinMillard68 you cant say I’m wrong and explain why. I don’t disagree with the humidity but Imam 100% correct and already explained the mechanics of it. You disputed me solely on your personal bias not on objective reasoning or scientific principles. I am an engineer, not mechanical electrical but I’m pretty sure I understand what’s going on.

      send it back for a replacment unit something is not right at all to me is sounds like the neck pocket was cut to thick had this happen on not less then 4 MIM telecasters to me in the last 2 years seems only on left handed teles tho your only other option would be to attempt to place a shim in the back of the neck not to thick tho it dont take much for me it was far worse on the teles that fix would not work but you might have some luck other wise send it back for a new one it is under warranty to make them come good

    I noticed we share the same model of guitar, which is quite exciting! I have a query regarding a specific part of your video-at the 13:32 mark, when you applied pressure to the guitar's whammy bar, there was a noticeable "tick" sound. Interestingly, I've encountered a similar issue with my guitar. Could you possibly shed some light on the source of this sound? Additionally, any advice on how to address this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time and assistance. 😃

    I have the same guitar. I have no issues with my volume control either. My amp cleans up nicely when I roll it off. Don't know why anyone would chop the capacitor off.🤷I put some Gotohs on mine as they were only cost a tiny bit more than Wilkinson's. Put some graphite pencil in the nut grooves and it's pretty decent. Also changed my saddles to roller saddles. Frets are finished nicely as well.

    If the springs are weak wouldn’t the bridge rise? Weak spring tension implies the string tension will overcome.

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Рік тому

      yes if the springs are weak then yes that can cause it to rise but so can 10 guage strings with even stronger springs there is a reason the claw is adjustable and also why you can also add in more springs they just have to match in weight pull
