There was a guy in my class that would rock stiletto heels until we graduated. He started wearing them after the football team lost and were "punished" by having to wear female clothing like stiletto heels and sun dresses. Well, most of the guys were embarrassed, my school (especially my class) had people that didn't conform to gender norms even before LGBT+ issues were being focused on as intently. So, obviously we all were complementing on how pretty/handsome he looked in his heels and he wore them everyday he could after that. I think it's because he realized most people in our school/class either didn't care what he wore or was very supportive in any fashion choice he made as long as he like it. (FYI, he could walk in heels better than any of the girls in our class ever could.)
I'm a straight man who loves to wear high heels and it makes me feel so good. But I'm scared to go out side Sometimes I wear woman sandals outside. The doctor told me that wooden clogs would help me with my back problems. That was in the seventies. My next door neighbor said the same thing but I didn't believe them. Now that I'm older I tried some wooden clogs and it helped me with my back problems. So did high heel shoes
I agree, heels can represent power, whether it be masculine or feminine. I enjoy wearing high heel boots because they make me feel somewhat powerful and I love the way they look on me. Guys in heels can really exude power and masculinity, heels are for everyone.
Not quite true stiletto's like what we like to wear. He had them custom made, they were thicker cuban style heels that won't snap when he is rocking on stage doing splits and standing back up while playing his guitar. He put us women to shame, I be breaking my ankles.
If only my girlfriend knew this history of heels because she mistakenly thought my shoes are girly when she saw them me wearing them for the first time....I bought them on eBay and they said they’re men’s shoes
I love to wear knee high heels boots in a size 9 to 10 i have been wearing knee high heels boots i started to wear knee high heels boots when i was 16 yrs old i have been wearing them for the last 41 yrs
Heeled boots should be gender neutral. I don't like this hypocritical gender equality in fashion where most of men's dresses and shoes are boring and also when they say women can wear dress like men, but men cannot wear practical footwear like knee high boots in cold weather because it is "feminine". Well, thanks to this video we now know the truth. If ever knee high boots with pointed heels meant for men hit the stores, sure I would get my feet in one of those pairs.
Yes, I know, I heard about that a while a go, watched reports and moves where I saw men wearing shoes with heels (19th century), interesting. I don't wear heels.
In 2 google clicks anyone would learn more from this probably stinky storage and displays heels history, to top it off, the journalist's idiotic questions and awe does not represent Canadians (sorry CBC).. the worse in this story is that this lady might get a PhD form this 'serious' research.

@@batprofile9183 So you're implying that men who wore heels at the beginning of history and men in the 70s were gays, right?
Roberto Botelho you obviously do by reacting....come out of your closet...
